You wasn't even close.

2.) 17 Jun 2015 13:54:33
Sorry Strad,
I'd been on Middlesboro's site looking for info on the striker we're supposedly interested in. Some guy posted a full opening day fixture list for all 4 divisions. I thought he either has inside info , or he's gone to a lot of trouble to work out the fixtures. Clearly , it was the latter. Plonker!
At least it is a " rumours " site , so I don't feel too bad - also glad it's opening at Hillsboro and not in London. Just wish we had SG at the helm to lead us into the new season. Whoever is advising the Chairman is clearly as big a plonker as the Middlesboro fan

3.) 17 Jun 2015 17:04:14
Well I believe SG is a good manager at this level apart from his inability to recognise a good striker. I also believe that for the first time in years in SG we had a manager that was liked and appreciated by everyone from the tea lady to the players from the fans to opposing managers. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him take control of a club in our league and actually finish higher than us. I also think he will be in charge of that club a lot longer than our incoming manager will be.

4.) 18 Jun 2015 16:41:24
I hope your right Strad that SG gets fixed up quickly and he is backed with finances, be a nice reception for him back at S6, just hope whoever he takes the helm of does not give us a good whipping, and he does not come back for any of the small squad we've got ie Lees, Lee , Westwood but good luck to him

30 Oct 2014 11:41:30
Madine out on loan to Coventry, and Hallam Hope sent back to Everton - hope this opens up the way for another striker and a much needed midfield general ! Any ideas ?
Desperate to freshen things up and get some confidence back.
Shame the middle and front line can't match the performances of the defence !

Sleaford owl

1.) It would help if Royston Drenthe were given a long enough run, but central midfield is clearly the priority. Is the interest in the French lad dead and gone ?

2.) 30 Oct 2014 18:34:13
SG obviously rates Taylor-Fletcher more than Madine hence bringing him in and shipping the latter out. I'm not sure its the right decision. We are desperately short of a creative midfielder with an eye for a defence splitting pass and plenty of goals in his locker. One that's creative with flair, skillful and speedy.

3.) It's a pity SG is not playing GTF to his full strength. He's always been known to feed of the big target man and last match he brought of Adthe instead of the misfiring long haired haggis. With regard to a midfield general, it's about time ALL the midfield realised they are allowed to go for goal and not just leave it for our so-called strikers. Some of them seem to have a nosebleed when approaching the 18 yard box. Come on MF get stuck in, What's it matter if you miss, at least one can say you've tried.

4.) Star is saying this morning that SG is hoping to get a striker in before tomorrows game v Charlton, no idea who though. Something sounds close - any Idea's / Desire's ??

5.) They have said that before last 3 games - let's wait and see

6.) Why he doesn't play maguire in just behind Nuhiu is beyond me. He's the perfect player to play in that hole. He is the most hungry for goals player we have and he is being wasted out wide!

7.) May needed a rest.
Give the lad a chance.

8.) 05 Nov 2014 07:46:04
Bless his little cotton socks let him have a rest from his glamorous highly paid dream job.

9.) He Should have played last night, the Way we were set up looked like we were playing for 0:0

10.) Bless his cotton Virus maybe?

11.) Jermaine Jenas is a free agent if we could keep him fit he'd be quality.

12.) 09 Nov 2014 08:38:19
Strikers are needed before anything. We all knew that Nuhiu's goal scoring wouldn't continue and Stevie May is so out of his depth at this level with regards to hitting the back of the net. Taylor-Fletcher's never been a good goal scorer and Madines been sent to Coventry. The reality of a typical season at S6 is back.

13.) 10 Nov 2014 06:21:13
We can go on and on buying more and more strikers, but until we have a midfield capable of picking a way through the opposition we are not going to score many goals.

14.) Need a Central Midfielder that can pass forward instead of backwards and sidewards all the time. If you add a decent winger who can actually beet a man the deliver a half decent ball for once we might even score. Blame the strikers all you want but they don't get enough chances to score.

26 Aug 2014 21:46:06
Wow! 0-1
Where can we really go?
Must not get too carried away, but can't help but think if SG could add a bit more quality to his threadbare squad, who knows!
Great manager / motivator - thanks a million!
One very happy owl tonight

Sleaford owl

1.) For all those doubters that Niuhu won't get even 15 fgoals this season. . think again!!!Still has 42 league games and who knows how many cup games to get those remaining 11 goals!

2.) For all those doubters that Niuhu won't get even 15 fgoals this season. . think again!!!Still has 42 league games and who knows how many cup games to get those remaining 11 goals!

3.) Just come across on SKY transfer centre that we are second favourates behind Oldham to sign Paddy Kenny Please Please Please don't spoil this long awaited high we are on at the moment. It can't be true surely

4.) No worries - these are only betting odds - nothing to do with the real world - more chance of us signing Alan Hodgkinson than Paddy Kenny!

5.) Why we need another goalkeeper though? uto xxx

6.) Don't know I agree we don't need another keeper unless Kirkland is looking to move on at his age he needs first team football but Kenny should never be mentioned in the same breath as SWFC

7.) Anyone heard wed could be after danny graham great signing if true

8.) I heard that rumour via newsnow site uto xxx

9.) 28 Aug 2014 14:47:32

15 Jul 2014 08:45:37
Mmm, Connor Wickham just turned down a 3 year deal at Sunderland!
I wonder if. ?
Nah, just dreaming -- but we are, aren't we -- still don't know where we stand with this takeover and the size of the transfer pot.
Trying to stay positive and remain ever hopeful of at least one " shock " transfer deal.

Sleaford owl

1.) Sleaford owl that would be an awesome dream.I would baby cradle him from Sunderland to Hillsborough. I know he loved his time with us, but surely we can never pull off a deal like this, or could we??

2.) All we need is a good striker and a playmaker
Come on SG do us proud

3.) Conner wickham would be a fantastic signing but his wages would be a lot more than we could afford must be on a decent wage at sunderland, still we live in hope

4.) Wickham not had good time at Sunderland in last year of contract. If he has poor start to season and finds himself out of side he could well end up with us. If starts scoring for fum will be beyond our reach.
Rumoured Leicester offered £5 million and that is about right price fo him as had good form at premier level for a few games. Hi play for Wednesday was different class to his other performances so we have higher opinio of him. let's hope we start well and Sunderland do not.

5.) Guys think we have to accept he's gone for good. I think he's likely trying to bolster his wages or get better terms. Given the situation Sunderland have with strikers and the finish he had to last season he knows he can call some of the shot's, they must be desperate to keep him. I'd love to be completely wrong but can only dream of him coming back again, think he's probably a better player now than when he left us.

6.) 15 Jul 2014 13:56:38
Is this takeover happening or not? I really do hope it's not another of his feel goods. x

7.) Strad - so obviously an outsider stirring it up!

8.) HOWLer you've got to luv 'em, god bless 'em. Deal or No Deal? Back after the break.

9.) Transfer pot in non existant and always has been with mandaric. news has it that the take over will be completed shortly after the January transfer window

10.) 15 Jul 2014 18:20:56
Connor wickham at the massive? You've absolutely no effin chance! If a club like Leicester can't prize him away surely what chance do you think we have? Seriously get real.

11.) Andymac - "scoresagoal"?
You're not even on target mate!
Either with your estimate of when the takeover will be 'Ratified by the League', because that's all we are waiting for, or your very sad and very tired attempts to stir it up like your mate Strad above!

12.) 15 Jul 2014 19:19:26
It's always the same swfc are skint no money managers are crap team are poor
Etc etc come on we are going up let's stick together and let SG do he's job

13.) 15 Jul 2014 20:05:34
Why is it when somebody has a genuine concern and voices there opinion on here they get called negative or a doubter or even a United fan? Having your own opinion and not being a yes man is a good quality to have. People like hOWLer and Kbs need to grow a pair and stop being sheep. Pathetic.

14.) Strad - You say you have "genuine concern" - but about what - A lack of progress?
Just a few weeks ago we were hoping for a footy godfather to come and buy our club from MM and take us to the promised land.
We now have that prospect.
We are only waiting for the "powers that be" to rubber stamp the deal so that the new owner can begin that journey.
Surely you appreciate and accept that he is not going to pump money in to the club before it is actually confirmed as his?
I can accept criticism and concern when its based on substance.
I never suggested you should be a "yes" man, I just don't get what you are saying "NO" to and I don't think you do either.
Just moaning about how long the Ratification is taking - which is totally out of MM & Mammas hands - and suggesting that its some kind of "feelgood conspiracy" is sad and totally pointless IMO.

15.) 16 Jul 2014 08:32:32
My concerns are these. Rumors of arrests of our potential new owner and reports of bankruptcy. His record of running another football club (RC Lens) some players reportedly not being paid, his failure to deposit a large amount of money in to an account by a certain date and blaming it on a bank holiday. Surely he knows what a bank holiday is it's in the name. Now we hear that RC Lens's promotion has been cancelled due to the above (mistake) just a small blip then. Try telling the Lens fans that. If this is how this bloke runs football clubs then I've got a right to be concerned.

16.) Strad: I would share your concerns if they were the truth or the whole story, But you are quoting just ONE side of the story which is being manipulated and peddled by some French journos with very dubious motives.
Mammas Record of running another club/s: - he is a shareholder in Athletico Madrid which you choose to ignore and rarely gets repeated on here?
Athletico were doing OK the last time I looked!
He bought in to Lens and they got promoted to the French Prem the very next season! Nice one eh!
Failure to deposit? - he has deposited 38million with Lens but the French Lge were insisting on 48million, that's the 10mill shortfall / Bank Holiday story that the press has chosen to report.
The real reason is the French Lge don't want Lens in their Prem is because they don't own their own ground!
If he really had money worries he wouldn't be handing over 38mill to Lens and offering 40mill for the Massive all at the same time would he?
The Lens fans, you are right they are up in arms - but with the way they are being victimised by the French Lge, but definitely NOT with Mamma
The facts, the full stories, are in the public domain to be easily found if you are that concerned?
You will need to use a translation website for some of the stuff but its all out there, just avoid the gutter press stuff.

17.) Can't wait now hOWLer you have filled me with so much confidence and positivety we have nothing to be concerned about at all hope you feel the same Mi Ole Matey STRAD

18.) 16 Jul 2014 18:01:46
Sorry my old chum but I'm still extremely concerned. I'll give a tenner to a charity of your choice if Mamma gets his wish of taking over our fantastic club. Just can't see it happening. Ask yourself why MM's not jumped ship yet.

19.) I thought MM stated quite a while ago that this was his last challenge.
A bit long in the tooth to be jumping ship.

20.) Strad - after your last post I'm going to have to give up on you mate - "why has MM not jumped ship?"
Your original post questioned why the takeover hasn't been ratified - then you say why hasn't MM jumped ship? - Think even you can work that one out?
But in any case in big business people don't " jump ship " as you put it.
Its quite normal for the Chairman to remain in position after a takeover until the new owner has all his own people in place, and that is exactly what will happen at S6.
Get your tenner ready!

21.) I'm pretty sure this takeover will go through and almost certain a few more players will be arriving before the season begins. Quite probably we'll be seeing a few names added to the team sheet over the next few friendlies (much better to see what they can do before jumping the gun and ending up with another load of future dead wood as in previous administrations). As for Wicham, the likelihood of him being shipped out on loan is premium if he fails to sign a new contract. Knowing what we got out of him last time could well make us favourites to loan him again, (especially after his time at Weeds) as they parade him in the shop window hoping for a good deal. UTO!

22.) 17 Jul 2014 15:36:59
Hope you prove me wrong but I doubt it hOWLer. Don't worry the tenners ready just incase.

09 Jul 2014 10:01:30
Bolton News just reported that Wednesday have tabled an offer for Keith Andrews, with a 2 year contract. This is the reason he has been excluded from Bolton's overseas tour which has just commenced.
They want to off load due to him being a high earner! And he is trying to untangle the remaining one year on his contract - hence the delay.
He is not a young man by any means, but S G may value his experience.
I can't recall seeing him when we played Brighton ( he was there on loan last season )
Any thoughts anyone?

Sleaford owl

1.) Gray said wanted to reduce age of squad and gave good solid reasons for this. Can not see him signing a 33 yro player for this reason. Likewise Andy Johnson at age 33 he is too old for high tempo pressing game Gray favours. Think these are rumours started by agents trying to earn some money and obviously aware Wednesday now have some cash.

Heard we are in discussions for 2/3 season long loan players. No names but apparrently out of top drawer.

2.) Andrews and R johnson would be a good thing for our team and squad, add strength and depth and definitely experience! uto xxx

Milan is now asking us to show support for the new chairman . I don't think that's an issue.
Milan says he is confident the chairman will invest in players who can live in the premiership.
Problem!!
Whoever is advising the chairman re the recent coaching / management acquisitions,
has got it badly wrong - will the same people be able to advise on the right sort of players?
Doubt it!
If they can't get contracts sorted out with players they want to keep, how on earth do they expect to attract others!
Milan - this just does not make sense - and you know it!
Best you stay clear of this absolute shambles . We have great respect for you and want to keep it that way.
Looks like Mr Chansiri is going to learn the hard way - and we're destined to suffer in the meantime ( nothing new there! )

Signing from Torino bandied about in Italian press . Kid called Lescano - only 18, so let's not get too excited! Plays on the wing.
Until they sort out the mess at the coaching level, we ain't going to see any signings of any worth.
Best get off to the Costas, or anywhere warmer, for summer, and hope things improve while away - they certainly can't get any worse!

Stevie May starting to really shine now ! He will run the defences ragged - just need to keep feeding the balls in - oh for a Johnny Sheridan, although some of the passes in the opening quarter on Saturday were sublime. Pity we couldn't keep it going.
Would be nice if we could put a couple of sides "to the sword". Was looking that way at Middlesboro' until they got 2 back.
Still, would settle for scruffy wins all day if it means 3 points, rather than well earned draws. Will be an interesting month !

Sleaford owl

1.) If you think loosing is better than well earned draws you should get yourself booked onto a maths class, urgently.
Take your binoculars with you just in case you can't see the white board.

2.) LMN
Ouch !!
What's all that about ?
Clearly ruffled your feathers some time in the past !
Can't for the life of me see where I made any mention of losing ( not loosing, by the way )

3.) Eric the Owl,
Well Eric, see what happens when we come and support you - attacked by a
LeMoN !!!

4.) Sleaford owl many thanks for your support - in all honesty I can't make out where LeMoN is coming from is he seeing the same post as I am ??? or maybe drinking a different beer lol come on LMN read the post properly before slagging it (Sleaford think it may be my turn next for a slagging ha ha ) ED yes I believe you are right people seem to see the bad and straight away give the verbal - but when they see the good they can't find it in themselves to give praise, so maybe it proves what a lot of people have said on this site about the moaners. They maybe hope we loose otherwise they can't say anything and we would miss their moaning so much wouldn't we !!!!! ????? UTO

5.) My post was supposed to be 'tongue in cheek' with references to a previous post.
Thought it was funny at the time, but it obviously didn't go very well.
Never mind.

6.) LMN
well done mate !
takes humility to admit we got it wrong sometimes.
important thing is we stick together - WAWAW.

7.) Well said both of you - true blues UTO

8.) Nice one lads.

9.) Well that was an edifying exchange wasn't it?

10.) If it keeps us together brighton what's wrong with that, after all we are all fans of one of the greatest clubs in the world so please don't make it sound cheap. We are the massive so try and think that way (no disrespect meant) edifying exchange lol love it UTO

11.) Pull yourself together soppy chops (no disrespect meant)

12.) None taken brightonowl sloppy chops - nah been a true blue too long UTO

13.) Looking forwards to the game tomorrow.
I hope McGugan is fit again as he has been looking the part for us recently.

27 Nov 2014 16:29:53
Trained at Hillsboro' today - rumour has it we scored one !

Sleaford owl

26 Nov 2014 15:36:03
SG no doubt pushing up BT's profits - only hope he profits from all the calls !
Did someone mention Leon Clarke ?

Sleaford owl

1.) Why as a club can we not attract high profile signings, either permanent or loans, is it purely the financial side of things??

2.) Hit the nail on the head, I think some players, or more likely there agents see us as a big club so won't move to us unless we pay a big fee or big wages which we can't afford at the moment without new investment

3.) So is it we don't have the funds or is MM not be prepared to spend it??

Just watched Dielna on Utube. WOW!
Strong, fast, equally good at CH or RB, quality distribution and scores goals.
There are a number of posts on him, but watch the Ajaccio one in particular where it shows quite a lot of different matches. He looks pretty awesome.
Well done again MM / SG. Looks to be a steal!
Still need more upfront though and wide. Who next?

Not feeling nervous , SCOWL , more disappointed.
From a position of strength - SG with some financial clout - we now have more upstairs than perhaps any other club! If Cooper comes on board , where's the pulling power to attract players to the club!
Looks shambolic so far , with more knee jerk reactions yet to come next week.
Looks like some of us may need to come out of retirement and get those old boots cleaned up since , at this rate , we won't be able to field a full team .
Oh Milan , what must you be thinking?
