Jordan Rhodes?
Odds with just reduced to 2-1 to come to Hillsboro'
Rumour or possibility?
Who knows with Chansiri - seems anything is now possible.

ssn recon we are the team he will be playing for. I think we have allready put in a bid. Stevie May going the other way.

2.) 01 Sep 2015 08:35:40
i reckon your spot on Andy we'll probably give £9-10m plus Stevie May.

3.) 01 Sep 2015 11:10:47
We will probably need to pay them to take SM.

4.) 01 Sep 2015 12:45:56
This could be true considering they have a transfer embargo on them they will need a replacement in some way or another. Would be lovey UTO but then I worry will CC play to his strengths or will he deteriorate in our strange formation he needs someone along side of him to work with and maybe get a few poacher goals from too.

Rhoys Wiggins about to sign from Charlton?
Could be a great signing if he can stay fit. Was a revelation at left back a few seasons ago, but has suffered several breakages. This is a gamble, but if it pays off, it would be a steal at £750K.
Worth a punt! ( based on inside info from a Charlton mate )

1.) 27 Jul 2015 16:03:27
I hope you're right Sleaford, but I have my concerns. A player who is injury-prone, can't get in the Charlton team and costing £750,000. Is this value for money, particularly when compared to the signings of Lees and Westwood last year? We might as well have kept Buxton and Mattock for that money.

2.) 27 Jul 2015 19:21:52
Sometimes it's not that a player is not good enough, it's just that his face doesn't fit!
Two classic examples of where Wednesday have benefitted in this way is McGugan and Sheridan - with no doubt many more throughout the game.
I agree that there is a big question mark over his ability to stay fit. His problem has also been the emergence of a younger exciting player ( forgot his name - is it Fox? ). Either way , Rhoys has been unable to get his place back - sounds like the Buxton / Palmer situation . Difference is that he is still only 27 , whereas Buxton is into his early 30's . That's why it could still be a good gamble. Time will tell if he gets onboard.

3.) 28 Jul 2015 10:35:23
McGugan has a long, long way to go before being mentioned in the same sentence as Shez.

4.) 28 Jul 2015 19:48:52
In the context it was written in where's the problem, when Shez came to Wednesday he was a decent midfielder just like Gugs. I can't see anyone comparing them as Wednesday legends?

5.) 28 Jul 2015 20:41:34
Och, it was just a light hearted comment.

6.) 29 Jul 2015 13:05:00
Sometimes it's hard to tell the light hearted from the other shhhtuff on here :-)

Lets hope McGugan turns out to have the same impact and the team matches the Shez side.

7.) 29 Jul 2015 18:12:21
We have signed some good players and have some already who knows we could have a similar team as when we had woods, waddle, walker , mighty hirsty ,shez, not to mention others. or we could end up with more stefanovic and kovecivic!

Can't get my head around CC's tactics.
Totally negative in first half ( again ) . Then gets sensible in second half with 2 up front for the first time - we peg it back only for seemingly everyone to lurch forward looking for another . Gun Ho, or what!
This is so inconsistent, and naive.
Come on get it sorted!

Another very poor showing at Elland Rd. No will to attack and get men forward & big Dave might as well have sat with me. He never broke into a sweat.
Carvalhal will need to get more adventurous since the Chairman has declared he wants attractive football. This is rank. Tactically, I think he's lost right now. He has quality players at his disposal but is getting nothing from them. And he is quoted after the game as saying we were good value for a draw. He saw a different game to me.
Can it get better? It certainly can't get much worse.

1.) 22 Aug 2015 20:51:14
I hear you, but Westwood was injured, as was our captain and other usual starters were rested, so a point away at Leeds wasn't a bad result.

2.) 22 Aug 2015 22:00:20
I think the first two games of the season flattered us a bit. Bristol are poor and look like relegation fodder and Mansfield were a team that should have been beaten which we did well. I'm not saying the team are bad but more that we are still gelling and need a bit more time to be a good coherent team, we have 11 new players this season way more than previous years. From what I have seen there are signs of real progress we just need to be a little more consistent. Still think this season is about getting a strong high table finish and I think this team and manager is more than capable of achieving this.

3.) 23 Aug 2015 07:19:47
i just think anyone that thought we were just going to come out of the gate murdering teams gave themselves some unreal expectations. I don't think it was terrible,I would have liked to seen more fight after we conceded the equalizer but all in all I'm not too upset about coming out 1-2-1. We rested some players and I think we have seen some good from a lot of different players. I think sougou looked alright, obviously matias looked great and sasso looked very good I thought. Lees did great except for that terrible foul, lee looked quite good and hutchinson looked good too. I thought nuhiu looked pretty pedestrian though just didn't do that much for me. But all in all I'll take an away point and move on to the next match. Cup match against oxford should see a lot of new faces I would assume.

4.) 23 Aug 2015 08:48:34
I agree we should make allowances for time to get new players working together. However , 7 of the players who finished that game at Elland Rd played under Stuart Gray. That's not a team that needs gelling!
My point is that tactically we are looking naive. In both the last 2 games , the centre forward has been totally isolated. The wingers have stayed very wide, and the midfield have not got forward in support. The result? Well , we registered only 2 shots on goal against Reading , and about the same yesterday. That's simply not good enough!
The inclusion of several quality buys should have improved our play and not made us as sterile as we have looked. The opposition has not been good either. Leeds were there for the taking. But, we weren't interested. Ipswich could and should have seen us out of sight long before the end.
Without any further additions, we have many more options than we had last season. I am just very disappointed that our system is failing to generate any acceptable level of excitement. This MUST change and soon.

5.) 23 Aug 2015 12:37:59
I wish somene would tell Atty its ok to jump for the ball he must have heavy boots

6.) 23 Aug 2015 14:58:35
I feel ya I really do but unfortunately it is what it is and we just got to ride it out and take the good with the bad. I personally am fine with starting a little slow and getting hot later if it happens that way. Let's just hope it does and we get hot later when we need it more. It's just way too early to be too critical.

7.) 23 Aug 2015 16:32:52
LMN our captain wasn't injured he was playing.

8.) 24 Aug 2015 07:15:45
Norwich we'll always field a captain but Loovens is the captain and was held out and you would presume that if he was unavailable then Westwood would wear the armband and he was unavailable as well. I think that is what he was referring too.

9.) 24 Aug 2015 09:58:47
Thanks USA.
Yeah, Loovens is the C and Lees is the VC.
I am sure it was an honest mistake made by Mr Norwich, lol.
We all make them.
🇨🇦

10.) 24 Aug 2015 12:44:28
Shoot man no worries, I do agree with Cams though seems like Atty has cement shoes or something LOL but a guy his size may not jump too well I guess LOL.

11.) 25 Aug 2015 03:39:07
Yes soz LMN had too much Pop and totally read it wrong my apologies

12.) 25 Aug 2015 09:45:33
Lol, no worries Norwich.

13.) 25 Aug 2015 09:48:23
It's strange USA, because sometimes Big Dave plays really well and shows many attributes, except for heading, but when he is bad, he is terrible.

14.) 25 Aug 2015 11:05:12
Yeah man I hear ya there, let's just hope he gets back on track. He's pretty cool in my book though.

15.) 25 Aug 2015 23:46:07
Then he goes and scores a header.
🇨🇦

16.) 25 Aug 2015 23:59:42
Lol yeah he sure did! That guy.

30 Jul 2015 09:57:15
It's shaping up to be a " funny old season " ( as Greavsey would say ).
Looks like we'll adopt a cavalier approach going forward, and leak goals galore behind. If it means we'll see lots of 4-3 and 3-2 games, that's ok with me as long as we get the 3 points.
Problem is we still haven't got our "20 plus" man. Maybe Lavery will come good, or even May might prove a few wrong. Even big Dave is looking good, but no doubt he'll still frustrate by missing loads as well.
The 21 year old lad we are about to sign reminds me of a leaner Antonio - no bad thing, and I think he will certainly excite.
Can't say this summer has been dull so far!

1.) 30 Jul 2015 10:43:10
Has anyone looked at the highlights at Scunthorpe to me the defenders where a few times in right position but didn't dive in. In my eyes good don't get injured I bet when we start having something to play for those tackles what could hurt will be attempted but in a friendly what's the point. At one point dunno who it was pulled up but usually I'd see a slide tackle so just we be ok

2.) 30 Jul 2015 12:29:47
You can't change manager and 3/4 of the team and not expect a learning curve and gelling time. Mistakes will happen. Seem to have strengthened the strongest area some more (but now conceding).

Another creative wide man and one of the names banded about up front and I'll afford him the settling in period.

3.) 30 Jul 2015 12:57:55
Just watched it again and I see what you mean. I too say well done for not risking yourself, no point going full blooded into a challenge and risking getting injured or carded when the match means nothing more than getting fitness levels up and continuing to learn new tactics and new team mates.

14 Jul 2015 13:14:55
Great news to hear Lewis McG on his way back to SW6.
Now we only await the " big one "!
Who is going to be the 20+ goal machine?
Just hope we're in for a big surprise since this could be the icing on the cake to what has been a massively exciting suffer in the transfer market.
We await with baited breath!

Sleafordowl

1.) 14 Jul 2015 15:12:12
It's been the most exciting suffer I can remember.

2.) 14 Jul 2015 17:12:29
Sorry Brighton!
Will teach me to check what I've typed - hate those preemptive gizmos!

3.) 14 Jul 2015 20:26:08
No need to apologise!. enjoy the rest of the suffer Sleaford.WAWAW?

4.) 15 Jul 2015 07:11:50
That's the way two owls having a good laugh bout time we can be relaxed eyyy. Singapore owl on a comment below has said he wants 2 20+ machines. I agree if we are going to loan one at least bring one on a perminant too. Cannot wait to get going this season btw that BMW has my name on it. UTO!!

5.) 15 Jul 2015 09:57:20
BMW? I know we are in the championship but I was expecting at least an Austin Martin! DC could peel an orange in his pocket. Ha ha

08 Jul 2015 22:23:37
New signing Matias looks good. Just watched him on several lengthy utube postings.

Seems to play more out on the left wing although he is predominantly a right footer, but he also gets down the centre.
He hammers in the penalties as well, and certainly knows where the back of the net is

Reminded me of Hirsty a bit - in build, and the way he took some of his goals.
One down, three to go!!

Give the lad a break Tiberius.
He ran his heart out , but just couldn't bridge the huge gap between English and Scottish football. He may still come good , but clearly we can't hang about waiting to find out. Just hope we get someone in - I'm getting worried with only 20 minutes to go!!

Good point , and very true.
However , there are exceptions . And 4 , with 10 goals each , does exactly the same!
Think Saturday will be a defining match. We'll be up against a very direct approach and a team that will mix it. Might be a big test for our more cultured lads.
If we ride this one - who knows where we can go!
Ever hopeful!

It is on the Welsh news site .
However, it is only a proposed 1 year loan deal - think someone at Hillsboro likes winding the other clubs up. Did we not do the same with Ipswich recently?

Noticeable difference in 2nd half when we offered more up front. He's got to change this approach , it's far too negative!

Got more players than we know what to do with - yet that elusive striker has still not arrived. Frustrating or what?
Don't want to live in the past , but I can't help but wonder what Stuart G would have done with all these players at his disposal - fact is we'll never know. So on ward and hopefully upward.

Good post Beauchief!
Reality is - the UK market is well over-priced.
Our new management recognised this , and other than Wallace and McGugan , they have traded abroad.
This means that you need excellent overseas contacts. Judging by the exciting players we have brought in, it appears that we have this well covered.
Well done Chansiri & co!

Good post Dodger!
There is no doubt that all the strikers suffered last season from lack of supply. Our wide play was poor , and even the full backs failed to get decisive crosses in - Buxton style.
We now have at least one good wide player in Wallace - another one wouldn't go amiss! And what a difference it's already making.
I too would love to see the " big man " doing the business . He will still no doubt miss a shedful , but if he could get close to 20 , then with his nuisance factor , and good hold up play , he will still be a great asset in the Championship.
I don't know how good we really were today? Were St Mirren downright poor , or were we that good? Perhaps somewhere inbetween would seem to be the answer.
The big test starts next week - can't wait!
