Might be reading between lines but big Sam available we all know that but strange thing I've seen is we need a winger don't we and all of a sudden ravel Morrison is thinking of quitting Lazio he played for Sam wonder if both on way?? On another note gutted to see Grey sacked so much for backing him and giving chance with some serious money wonder if a proven manager who can attract better players is always been on the cards. Only worry I have is new man hasn't got much time to asses current squad. Fingers crossed no rash rushed buys happen. UTO

I'm loving the fact that both Clough and Warnock are level in the betting at 50/1 at the moment, you would have thought those odds would me much longer, in fact I think I have more chance of becoming manager than Warnock. Also Di Canio is high in the betting although on the site I am looking at he is level with Jurgen Klopp, that would be a huge coup if we got him. Apparently Warburton is emerging as a favourite with some people, I think this wouldn't be too bad he has a good reputation and did well with little money at Brentford.

Think we can rule out Warburton, his main reason for leaving Bees was he wanted total control of football matters , so can't see him getting in to bed with Roeder.
But who would?
Worried about his appointment from the off, and don't think he'll survive once Chansiri recognises his mistake, but he's started to do the damage now!
It was Roeder who recommended Slades appointment to Vincent Tan at Cardiff - that was a great move? Slade is Roeders mate by the way!

{Ed001's Note - actually, it was not about that. It was about wanting to work with scouts recruiting players, rather than purely with the owners' model of stats-based recruitment.}

Ed001: that's true , the stats approach was a major part of his " clash of philosophies" with Benham the owner.
But if you check out many of Warburtons interviews , he has put on record his main reason for leaving was that "he wanted a final veto on all football matters" .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I know what he said but it was all over that one issue as he had control over everything else anyway.}

Ed001: So my original statement about him wanting "total" control over football matters was "true" after all? - and that's the reason why I said I can't see him getting involved with the Owls - there are too many fingers in the pie here for Warburton's liking I suspect?
Do you have any insight on Roeder Ed001? I have deep concerns after his flirtation with Cardiff? Any thoughts?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it was in a way of speaking, but there is no way of knowing as the owner never tried to take control of other matters off him, though McParland did handle a large portion of football matters under his guidance.

Personally, I have to be honest here, I am not a big fan of Roeder. I simply do not understand why a failed manager is in as an advisor, nor what he is going to do to help Wednesday. Surely it would be better to just look for someone successful to take charge who plays football in the style that the owner wants the team to play? I fail to see what Roeder can add.

On a previous point, you mentioned Slade at Cardiff, most Cardiff fans hate him and think his style of football is horrible to watch. League One football is how it is always described to me. If that is the kind of person he recommends, well I fail to see how that would be suitable for Wednesday.}

Ed001: Yes I totally agree with every word of that , spot on!
Roeder has obviously impressed Chansiri to some extent in interviews at least, to get the job as advisor in the first place, so fairly safe to assume he is following Roeders advice at the mo? Worrying!
But like you I fail to see what real success he has had to make him worth listening to?
As you say why not just get the right bloke in the first place?
There is bound to be less conflict in camp that way, and he only has himself to blame if he fails.
Hope he's not recommending bringing Slade here! (LOL!)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I dread to think what he is recommending. Still it could be worse, he could have recommended sacking all the coaching staff except for the manager....}
