I heard marcos lopez. with dj and mm they like our dads at christmas could be something fXXk brilliant or a bothroyd that went out of date years ago. anyway our youth sqaud looks good.

I could understand why he wated to sign this lad as we required another left sided player at time. Now we have Pugh may be a different requirement.

Dave Jones: "We can't get Jeffey Sarpong into a game because of the weather so he will probably be going back" Anyone know what DJ means by that?
Agree1
Disagree0
Going back to where he's is a free agent surely we can bide our time take a longer look and get him a game could be a gem
Agree1

The fact that this coincides with the statement that Madine wants to stay and fight for his place says it all for me.
DJ was hoping to farm out Madine, and others perhaps, to find the money to pay for Sarpong, MM holding firm on the finances.

Sarpong is a free agent and was no more than a trialist. Others have had a look and turned him down. DJ on player makes it clear no clubs came in for Madine and Madine turned no one down. You can not be that categoric if not true.

No more players to be signed for the owls this season, survival this season and mid-table is highly and confidently predicted, wednesday is considered as the inform most consistent team in the championship league at present. saving to be made this season to strengthen the squad for next season with quality players in order to compete for the top spot. these are the best news we can hope for as we have at the moment confident and well gelled team that any addition will only disrupt and distract our good form. come on wednesday, team and fans, keep the good play going so the good time will come : -)
Agree1

Confidence is the key to our current run of form, if we start to givr the ball away in midfield, as we do sometimes in a game, we need to still back them instead of getting on thier backs. We need to keep that confidence high, and then it's onwards and upwars.

Jones was doing a crap job at first.
His signings were bad and he came across as arrogant in his interviews.
We were in a bad state.
But we should have given him more time and he can't help his personality.
People make mistakes and wanting jones out was one.
Obviously people will moan when losing every week and cheer when winning. Blades are no different. No fan is.

Would be nice. Jones said two targets he had in mind he would try for if ot sold by the clubs ivolved. No idea if Wickham was being hawked roud some of the younger names mentioed on these pages this comment would not apply to.

We didn't nearly get him earlier in season, We made an enquiry about taking him on loan which was rejected straight away by both Sunderland and Wickham himself!

We don't need Wickham.
I'd rather stick with Madine, Antonio or JJ up front until the summer.
They are our players andare passionate about the club.
We don't need another short term promising young player, who's been promising for a few years but not delivered as yet.
Agree6
Disagree5
Our firepower is looking good ATM. why rock the boat!? I can't seeing Wickham adding anything different to Madine.
Agree2

Other than wickham can score goals and madine couldn't score in a brothel

Wickham has never been a prolific goalscorer.

Mandaric confirmed we are interested in wickham and deal nearly done. Other clubs also interested but hopefully sorted today. Is wickham in?

He has scored 4 in 5 for England u21's of late.

Hats off to original poster of this thread he was spot on. Personally delighted we have another option as Maguire and Madine struggle at this level. A good indication of how these two are rated we did not get an enquiry for either one in Window. Just hope it does not upset current team which is settled and doing well.

1 in 5 as a youngster for Ipswich is good enough for me, he's better than madine, why do people find negatives in everything Wednesday do?
Agree2
Disagree0
We owls fans should be more appreciative towards dj for all the knocking he's taken after promotion last season that we truely thought was going to be through playoffs, turning things round agian, his record speaks for it's self, otherwise we will be kicking ourselves when he leaves and succeeds somewhere else, we have not had this quality of a manger for years since big Ron and he may prove to be our best manager yet given time

Wicham and lita in, in the past 2 weeks briliant signings and great use of the money in our budget. To the moaners get a life and get behind the owls oh I forgot you probably don't go to any matches.
Agree2

For everyone saying that Madine ain't good enough can I remind you of a certain Grant Holt, who everyone said weren't good enough too.

'Wickham has never been a prolific goalscorer' he's 19 years old give him a chance haha
