Helan joins owls on youth loan till end season

Believable15 Unbelievable1

Just read it too. Great news.

Agree14 Disagree2

Really hope so.

Agree9 Disagree0

Defo. It's on the Wednesday web site. Rodri has gone home too as he was homesick and could not settle.

Agree9 Disagree0

Helan & Antonio out wide with Lita upfront. JJ to boot.
That is a seriously fast forward line.
Negs gone quiet.
It's just so disappointing that MM didn't speak to the fans first about it. Lol.

Agree8 Disagree1

It's true very happy, just said on social media, brilliant news now there's even more of a chance we will sign him on a permenant in summer

Agree8 Disagree0

Great news sorry dj haters but I think he is starting to put his stamp on the team

Agree9 Disagree3

Just read it too.....great news!!

Agree6 Disagree0

"Great news sorry dj haters but I think he is starting to put his stamp on the team"...............In fairness, it took him quite a few miss placed 'stamps' to get us here.......But all in all, new faith instilled, I am a happy Owl.

Agree7 Disagree3

Brilliant news I thought he had signed elsewhere ?? eric the owl

Agree5 Disagree0

Dj putting his stamp on it
Why it took him past half a season to do so?

Agree5 Disagree2

The post about DJ haters - I am one (was one?), but now I'm staring to feel the glow again. Does DJ simply hate the Autumn and only start form late winter / spring?

Agree4 Disagree0

Moving from League 1 to Championship without substantial input of funds is not easy transition. Our side last year was very much a L1 outfit. If you get promoted out of Championship you need several players in side who can play at Premiership level. You could not see any players out of our promotion team approaching that level. This takes time and a careful build always yields better rewards than something established quickly.

Agree2 Disagree1

Moving from League 1 to Championship... sorry don't fall for it. DJ made far to many mistakes. I agree with another post on here that pointed our slump coincided with the absence of a coach. It does raise questions about what DJ does do. I'm delighted we seem to have turned the corner but I love the club too much to forget Jones's errors. Forgive? maybe but lets see how he goes.

Swindon are linked with madine, rodri looks like his off to zaragoza on loan, norwich look like they will sign becciho from leeds for about 3 mil, meaning norwich striker jackson will be able to move out with us and wolves linked with the striker, also his out of contact in the summer so could pick him up cheap!

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Madine to Swindon if we get goodwillie and if Swindon can get the funds

becchio to Leicester not Norwich
Norwich want Hooper from Celtic

Agree3 Disagree2

We have signed Jeremy Helan on loan til end of season great news source MCFC & SWFC website - thought him going to Watford was a done deal?

Agree7 Disagree0

Healan joined the massive again!!

Agree7 Disagree1

Jeremy Helan just signed until the end of the season

Agree5 Disagree1

Helan signed until end of season

Agree5 Disagree0

Swindon are under a transfer embargo aren't they?

Agree0 Disagree4

chris o, grady to join notts county if we sign goodwillie

Believable4 Unbelievable12

Why sign goodpenis when ogrady is a talented player but not given the chance yet?!

Agree7 Disagree8

I like o'grady, works his socks off and he's our joint top scorer this season, he's been given the chance though and in all honesty he's not talented enough for the champ, hence we are one of the lowest scorers in the league

Agree8 Disagree3

Worth keeping this season though, even if only generally on the bench.

Agree4 Disagree2

Not certain Goodwillie is answer. Has not reproduced form he showed in Scotland. Having said that watched a couple of scottish games recently and standard very poor. Teale and Kuqui amongst players who would struggle to get game in League 1.

Agree4 Disagree2

SPL is shocking.

Agree7 Disagree2

O'Grady is the best striker we own. How can people be so dismissive of him and so understanding of Madine when Madine has not only been worse, but less hard working and this season has also scored less goals.

If we play O'Grady consistently he can get 10-15 goals a season at this level which is pretty good for a target man

Agree4 Disagree2

Nope. Lita is better.
Clown.

Agree4 Disagree3

Madine and ogrady are not up to the championship.

Agree2 Disagree6

Ogrady is not and never will be a goalscorer. Yes he works hard but there is no end product and come the end of 90 minutes the opposition defenders will probably be thinking thank god that's over and I am glad we don't have to play him every week, but more often than not they will also have a clean sheet to show for their hard work.

Agree1 Disagree4

O'Grady works hard and has physical presence to make his mark aganst some teams at this level. His control and indeed finishing have looked better this year definitely improved since he arrived. Good in air and can win headers in adversity and always get honest toil from him. Having said that he is a peripheral squad player at best and is not a player you would automatically associate with a promotion winning side at Championship level. Madine has touch and control and can turn sharply but lacks power and mobility. Can head a ball but not good in aerial battle andgenerally lacks robustness you would expect from someone of his size. Think he has been affected by court case hanging over him, been out of sorts all season, failed to progress since last season.

Agree3 Disagree1

Great post!

Agree1 Disagree0

We don't own Lita, and he was pretty dreadful at Middlesborough, let's not jump the gun here

Agree1 Disagree1

Lets. Looked great last week.

Agree2 Disagree1

Such a dreadfull spell, strike rate of 1 in 4 at champ level and swansea signed him when they were in prem, surprised he's not in league 2 after that awful spell

Agree0 Disagree0

1 in 4 is a decent spell.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ogrady is joint top goal scorer with antonio and antonio has played more games ogrady ent started and finished many games this year him and lita could be a good strike force!

Agree1 Disagree0

Here's the true mystery: why did swansea pay £1.6m for him? I mean, we all know he's good, but that good?

Jones is supposedly trying to move out 8 players

Believable11 Unbelievable6

Know we need to offload some, but eight is a big chunk and it would leave us very thin on the ground - unless he is about to welcome a sudden influx of around half that number.

Agree5 Disagree1

We have 4 out on loan

he wants to sell 3 so I guess another out on loan or released prob Bennett or weaver out

Agree5 Disagree0

It would not surprise me to see 8 players leave including summer clear out in addition to this transfer period, basically those who can not or no longer cut it at this level.
Rodri, Maguire, Weaver, Lines, Bennett, O'Grady, Madine, Daniel Jones.

Agree5 Disagree2

Jones has left mate.

Agree7 Disagree0

And hopefully that shower of rubbish mattock and taylor!

Agree4 Disagree1

So has lines, rodri is going to Zaragoza and madine is probably going to swindon. Disagree with the point about the players not being able to cut it at this level, maguire has never been given a chance, rodri is unsettled, lines got injured for a big chunk of the season, o'grady is our top scorer?

Agree3 Disagree1

I think we should sign chopra as he is a great footballer and goalscorer and he never gets played, I reckon he would be great alongside lita, bring him in!!

Agree0 Disagree6

Mattock is good, also Taylor is only back up cb, unless you count Reynolds :)

David Goodwillie about to sign!

Believable9 Unbelievable15

Is that a boast ?

Agree9 Disagree3

Sounds like a lively chap off the field - 3 cases of assault in last 5 years currently on 12 month probation - last year also accused of rape which was dropped ! - sounds like our kind of player (Madine, Ranger etc)

Agree1 Disagree7

Insulting to madine actualy he's not so far as yet raped! so ranger is on his own! xxx

Agree10 Disagree1

Hurrah! Another potential signing with an awful record on and off the pitch... What the hell is going on?

Agree2 Disagree4

Heardu marlon king is heading to us on twitter

Agree3 Disagree8

Hope not

Agree4 Disagree3

Don't think he would be a bad signing but probably not true

Agree4 Disagree3

Never knew he practised Urdu.

Agree4 Disagree1

I know get back kim olsen :) xxx

Agree2 Disagree1

I don't even think we need another striker atm!

Agree0 Disagree5

Do not want he becasue of this Incidents and legal cases
While on loan to Hull City, King was alleged to have headbutted teammate Dean Windass in a casino in Scarborough. Hull City stated that the matter had been dealt with internally, and both players remained with the club.[47] Windass later described the incident as a "storm in a teacup".
King has convictions for 14 offences, dating from 1997.[48][49] He received fines, driving bans, community service sentences, a rehabilitation order and orders to pay compensation on convictions including: theft from a person and from a car, criminal damage, and attempting to obtain property by deception; fraudulent use of vehicle licence document, driving without insurance, speeding, drink driving; a wounding incident while playing amateur football, and two cases involving assault of young women rejecting his advances in the Soho area of London.
Two cases led to imprisonment. In May 2002 he received an eighteen-month prison sentence for receiving stolen goods, in relation to a BMW convertible that he was found driving. He was found not guilty of a charge of assaulting a police officer in a related case. His solicitor commented that "His reputation will be tarnished forever, whatever success he achieves, he'll always be referred to in a Tyson-esque way as someone who has had a criminal past and that is a considerable penalty."[50][51] Gillingham continued to pay his salary while he was in jail, and supported in his appeal, which resulted in the sentence being reduced to nine months, and he was released on licence after five months, returning to the Gillingham team within two days of his release.[52]
In December 2008, again in the Soho area, King was arrested on suspicion of punching a 20 year-old female university student in the face, causing a broken nose and split lip for which she was treated in hospital. He was later convicted of sexual assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and sentenced to 18 months in prison and placed on the Sex Offender Register for seven years.[2] Wigan Athletic immediately initiated the cancellation of his contract.[18] King's agent, Tony Finnigan, said he was confident that his client would find a club on his release, which was on 29 July 2010, [53] and accused the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) of failing to offer support. Gordon Taylor, the chief executive of the PFA, said that the PFA did not represent players when they have broken the law and been convicted on non-footballing matters. It would support members with anger management or other issues if approached but no approach had been made by King.[15] After his release, he made an appeal against the conviction which was unsuccessful.[54]

Agree10 Disagree2

Wow somebody likes researching on mr king lol xxx

Agree7 Disagree0

Think he should rite his autobiography lol

Agree6 Disagree0

I'd take Goodwillie.. He's a good player, just needs a chance and games every week. Will definitely score goals...

Agree3 Disagree2

There's casino's in scarborough.

Agree4 Disagree0

But other than that, what as he done.

Agree1 Disagree0

Due to the above makes him cheap and we deal in bargain basement players.

Agree1 Disagree1

Had thought I'd take or leave Marlon King up to now but anybody with the balls to head but Windass'll do for me!!

Agree2 Disagree0

King scored 14 in 27 games for brum, I'll take that don't care about his past, it's in the past and that's where it will stay hopefully. Goodwillie is pants no way I want him at club, was good in SPL which we all know is bottom half of league one standard and he's done nothing since

Agree0 Disagree4

Knocks women about is ok then?

Agree0 Disagree0

The deal to send Rodri back to Spain almost done!

Believable11 Unbelievable1

Deal? How hard can it be... Pick up the dog and bone and ring the Barcelona boss..

"Tito? DJ here, Rodri's on the next plane home.."

"Why?? He's crap!"

Agree8 Disagree6

He's not going back to Barcalona he's going to Real Zaragoza!
We signed him for season so we have to find somebody to take him for rest of season.

Agree6 Disagree4

Rubbish! We can simply terminate the loan.

Agree5 Disagree9

You'd better tell the club they don't know what they're doing then!
You should apply for the job you could sort the world out with your knowledge!

Agree7 Disagree1

You cant't just terminate a loan when it will most likely be written in his contract that we can't send him back. Its the same as a parent club being unable to recall a player back. Gives security to one club or the other.

Agree5 Disagree1

Yes one or two of the knockers, show how their lack of knowledge with some comments they make.

Agree3 Disagree0

Rumours going around that he might actually be staying now

Agree1 Disagree2

He's obviously not that brilliant otherwise Barcelona wouldn't have been so desperate to get rid when they heard he'd scored on his debut

Agree1 Disagree1

His loan can be terminated under the "He's Crap" clause, which it will be.

Agree0 Disagree8

Haha quality. I doubt he is crap having played in Spain U21 a 1.2 million transfer fee and regular in barca be side. More likely just not settled in uk and dj not having a clue of his best side.

Agree4 Disagree1

He's that crap that he played in the barca second team? come on now! he's just not settled, it happens

Agree4 Disagree0

He will prob be like cantona we had him the manager didn't know how to play him & become very successful.

Agree1 Disagree1

Can't call him crap, you've probably never seen him play if you say that, not settled at all hence he's going back to Spain

Agree5 Disagree0

Cantona never played a single game for the Owls, so how can that comparison even be sensible?
Usuall bitter rubbish mate. Plus you've been singing that tune same for over 2 months now.

Agree1 Disagree2

The Cantona example is a very sensible comparison.
He came over hoping to sign for us, and he did play at the Arena for the Owls and he wanted to sign, but Francis wanted to see him play on grass? before offering him a contract, even tho he was a French international!
Leeds nipped in smartish and signed him without him even putting his boots and the rest is history.
Lets hope Rodri doesn't turn out to be our second Cantona mistake.

Agree2 Disagree2

2months? - you seem to think that if the same thing is said more than once it must be the same person saying it?
Did it occur to you that any number of people might have the same view and its you who is in the minority?

Agree1 Disagree0

If we end rodri's loan we have to pay remainder of his wages hence why he's going to another club to take on his wage. Dj said this over the weekend uto

Agree0 Disagree0

You only have to read through the recent posts to see that it is you in the minority.
Most fans are trying to enjoy a good spell for the team and look towards the future. You know, like supporting the club.
Yet you are still miserable about Cantona.
Sad.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cantona never had a decent run in the French team, and only ever played in a training match for the Owls. That really doesn't count.
Why did you not get over him yet? It's pitiful.
I am aware that there are at least two of you negs posting nonsense every day, but you really are making fools of yourselves.
Give it a rest and go to the lane, you may do more good there.
If you really cared about this club you would post positive comments from time to time, especially as we are doing well at the moment.
Stealth Blunts.
