According to Alan Biggs on social media all paper work is signed and take over completed!!!

Believable11 Unbelievable11

Yes, all except for the football league ratification. That's why he says Mammadov is "technically" the owner of SWFC.

Agree6 Disagree2

Would be nice UTO OvO

Agree3 Disagree1

Yes, the paperwork has been signed, but ratification of the take-over must be received from the Football Authorities. It is only this that is holding up an official announcement from the club.
Sit tight, all will work out - we hope!

I wish you would all calm down! Yes we would like it sorted. Yes we would like some new signings. However the transfer window doesn't shut for over 3 months yet! There will also be some loans. In case you hadn't noticed loans are how football works now. 10% of the players in the premier are on loan from other prem clubs and that percentage gets higher in the champ and the pub leagues. If they didn't loan players out the top clubs in the prem would have squads of about 80. Players you have hardly heard of would rather be loaned out from Chelsea to here there and everywhere but earn £15k a week for 3 years, than actually go and play for the likes of us for £5k

According to sheff star some money that needs paying to lens hasn't been paid takeover not happened yet all hold our breath

Agree2 Disagree5

Basically, the takeover HAS happened. Papers have been signed, etc. It's just waiting for the football league and if Cellino can be the owner of Leeds then Mammadov is going to have no problem. It's just a matter of time.

Agree6 Disagree0

Some good points made on this thread.
Our fans should appreciate that all that's happened is a simple admin error between two countries.
These sort of things happen in big business on a daily basis.
If you were paying the £10m from your bank account you too would leave it while the last minute to payout, simply because its earning you a fortune every day in interest, so why pay earlier than you have to. Somebody simply forgot that there was a bank holiday which came in to play.
Finally, this has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with what is happening at S6. Just relax and enjoy the new era which is just about to start!

Agree5 Disagree1

I agree there are a lot of good points on here. It's only normal to be a bit worried when you hear things like this after the disastrous 15 years we have had. I have high hopes for this takeover and am optimistic about Mammadov. From what I have read he seems exactly what we need. I just want it ratified so the new signings can come, and when they do we will be able to see what his intent is. Very exciting times. I'm not panicking but until the first few quality signings arrive I am trying to play down my enthusiasm just in case.

RC Lens - the French club owned by pending Sheffield Wednesday buyer Hafiz Mammadov - has had its promotion to Ligue Un suspended due to discrepancies in its budget for next season.

Lens have been informed by the National Directorate of Management Control (DNCG)- the financial regulation body of French football - that they will not be permitted to enter the top flight due to ‘insufficient financial guarantees. ’

The problem appears to revolve around a figure of ten million euros (around £7. 99m) which has not been transferred into the club’s accounts from major shareholder Mammadov in Arzerbaijan.

Club president Gervais Martel immediately announced an appeal against the decision and insists he is confident the suspension will be lifted.

Martel insists the issue has arisen due to a public holiday in Azerbaijan which caused a delay in the cash transfer and ensured it arrived after the DNCG made their judgement.

He said: “I went to spend a few days in Baku to set this up.

“What I can say today is that it is unfortunate that this decision is made in a matter of a day, on a payment date.

“But one simple reason: yesterday, June 26, it was the feast of the Armed Azerbaijan.

“It was a holiday and sending the funds was tabled on the 25th was not effective on the 26th for this reason, and it has not arrived.

“DNCG applied it’s regulations.

“I have absolutely no worries.

“We will appeal to the DNCG and we will provide all documents at the appropriate time.

“This is unfortunate but it is not very serious. ”

The club have appealed both to the French Football Federation (FFF) and the DNCG over the decision. The appeal is expected to be heard on July 3 or July 9.

Mammadov’s potential takeover of the Owls is currently undergoing the ratification process with the Football League.
This is what it says in the star and they fully explained why the situation has arisen and how it's going to be rectified so nothing at all to worry about.
Onwards and upwards and always look on the bright side a life WAWAW

It's like us having a bank holiday. Surely the new pending owner or who ever deals with his finances must have known that the money would be delayed which would then cause the problem. This all sounds very suspect to me. Maybe the F. A know something too which is why the takeover hasn't been rubber stamped. When else have takeovers of clubs become such a drama? I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't happen hence why Milan says he's sticking around.

Know that's a post. hope it don't effect us in any way the got to admit I am a bit nervous know

Agree6 Disagree5

The ratification proesstakes 3 weeks minimum less than this was hoping, so no delay. Football league ratification can take 3 months. Second postsounds like one of those geezers on herewho want Wednesday to fail.

Agree2 Disagree2

Just because you don't agree with me why does that mean that I want Wednesday to fail? I've got my own opinions mate which I'm entitled to. No I don't think the takeover will happen but if I'm wrong I doubt any money worth talking about will be made available for so called big signings. I say this through concern and nothing less.

Agree3 Disagree5

Sounds like a banking error that shouldn't have happened but did and this has been blown out of proportion. It seems like the French FA have been a bit quick on the trigger in applying sanctions and I have the feeling the ban will be overturned and I don't see this effecting our takeover.

Agree3 Disagree1

I get that the bank holiday thing is an absolutely school boy mistake that no serious business man would allow to happen.

This takeover is far from being a drama (until today though). It happened very quickly after it became public knowledge and the fl signing it off as final hasn't taken that long yet.

I'm still hugely optimistic about the future, but would rather this hadn't happened.

Agree2 Disagree0

Another shambles, and before I get I smell pork or what ever rubbish, I am a true owl, season ticket for last 6 years and I know this season is going to be another relegation battle end of, odd new signing maybe, and usual loan siginging to save us end of!

Agree3 Disagree7

How come people are so negative about the takeover. Good things come to people who wait, so the saying says.

If the first post was that it's just been announced by FIFA, the Queen and News at Ten that the 5 richest people in the world have formed a syndicate to buy Wednesday and turn us into the biggest club in the world. Then the next 5 posts would be we are doomed, relegation next season, no new signings blah blah negative blah. Half of you are so indoctrinated in failure that you would be better off supporting United

Agree5 Disagree0

We will find out shortly what the real story is but it is no surprise to me that Mr M manages his cashflow tightly by making big payments as late as possible. That is good business practice. It is easy to be righteous about administrative errors but they happen all the time in big business even with the best of intentions and it is easy to see how someone overlooked a mismatch between Azerbaijzan and French banking days. I'm not ready to read anything untoward into this yet although obviously with our history of tricksters and sharks sniffing around the club, it is natural to be on our guard. Keep the faith - next week will reveal the truth!

Agree3 Disagree0

I think all will be fine with the pending take over, but we need to be patient and realise success maybe a good few seasons away yet. don't be surprised if its another long nail biting season. uto. halifax owl.

Its all go on transfer's Monday.

Believable8 Unbelievable4

I for one cannot understand why we havnt made signings by now as mm said we could make them before takeover and yet sg said he hadnt talk to new owner yet over signings what is the true? its getting very worrying Mr C

Agree11 Disagree7

Chill out and have faith. Everything will be revealed and you will be happy with the out come!! Trust me mate

Agree9 Disagree8

Just had a conversation with my mate and he's read somewhere that mammadov is going bankrupt I told him I can't see it but apparently he's seen a couple of similar reports any one here heard anything

Agree3 Disagree14

I asked a straight forward question looking for intelligent input and that's your reply get a life mate can any one else other than the donkey above shed anymore light on this subject, I'm a true owl by the way and so is my mate its just something he read somewhere and thought I'd ask you guys if you heard anything similar

Agree1 Disagree5

No one other than MM and HM knows what is going on. Perhaps the confusion is arising from MM's saying that we can go ahead and buy the players now. Permission to buy is one thing, persuading players to sign before they know the outcome of the takeover is another. I hope all is well but I do share Mr C's concern.

Lens promotion to Ligue 1 suspended after failing to meet financial criteria. Just been on SSN.

Agree7 Disagree2

The Star is running an article that FC Lens are not being allowed to get promoted due to a budget discrepancy as Mammadov has not transferred €10m into their account or something. Probably because he's just transferred £40m into Mandaric's

Agree7 Disagree1

I believe in miracles, where you from, you sexy thing

Agree4 Disagree0

Mammadov is notgoing bankrupt, The artile they mst be refering to is one on Baghlan grouphaving edit rating downrated. This is more to do with urrent finanialissues around Europe than Mammadov going bankrupt.
Star article explains issue re Lens clearly.
Do not worrry world of finance is an interesting one.

Agree3 Disagree1

Thanx for making some sense of it all for me, I've not seen none of articles jus heard from my mate and he is a half empty type of guy so we shouldn't worry to much then UTO WAWAW

Agree1 Disagree1

Hafiz Mammadov comes from Scotland right?

Agree2 Disagree1

Ye that's right and you must be from the Isle of scilly

Agree4 Disagree1

Do any of you believe in miracles?

Agree1 Disagree1

Well the story appears to be true and I am sure that it will provide a whole load of cannon fodder for our rival fans and our own negs.
However, it will hopefully be cleared up soon and then be put down as a false alarm for us Owls fans.

Agree0 Disagree1

Its called cash flow problems. That's the timing of money coming in and going out.
Every one has this problem from time to time, some have problems meeting their full commitments on time, others never had sufficient funds in the first place. Others say the late payment regarding Lens FC was due to a public holiday getting I the way of the funds being transferred.
Its take your pick time. If the money arrives at Lens OK game on if not. It might turn out to be another Wednesday Wonderland.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not even a false alarm, it is apparently factual that a payment was missed but its not really a story.
From the reports I've seen a payment from Lens was not received on the due date - because it was a public holiday - and because of that the French system swung in to action and things kicked off.
The press got hold of it and the scandal started - unusual that?
Having lived and worked in France they are VERY keen on financial matters and this sort of thing is not unusual at all.
But to suggest from a missed contribution that Mamma is somehow in financial difficulties is absolutely ludicrous!
Facts are facts - they just don't appeal to the headline writers of the world!
