Wickham to return when loan window opens he turned down 2 loan moves and 1 perm deal so he can come back next weekend uto

We should try and get a deal sorted out for Fryatt so when his contract his up he's ours because there will be teams fighting for his signature on a free.

I have for a long time thought that Radio Sheffield is biased against Wednesday, but after listening to praise and grumble on Saturday night I am even more convinced about the bias.
Firstly anyone listening to the programme would think that Barnsley was the local team and Wednesday were a team from another part of the England. RS, prompted by agent Wilson said that Frimpong should not have been booked for his foul on Maguire and that Marranier (who have no time for, he is one of the worst refs I have seen) should have spoken to Frimpong rather than booking him, but Marranier had previously warned Frimpong about his challenges but he took no notice. RS went on to say that Barnsley should have a penalty and that Mellish was only sent off because he was frustrated at not getting the penalty. I was at the game and wasn’t sure at the time about Lleira’s challenge on Mellish and having seen it several times since I have to say that I have seen them given but it was not as bad has the challenge on Maguire in the box when he got booked for simulation and Mellish was not booked for similation.
RS condemned JJ’s challenge but it was no worse than Mellish or Frimpong’s challenges but then said JJ was a liability, if JJ is a liability why was not Mellish and Frimpong’s.
RS said that Barnsley should have had “a stone wall penalty” but didn’t mention our two penalty appeals, they just agreed with everything that agent Wilson said. They even told Gray that we were lucky Barnsley were not given a penalty. I am a Wednesday fan but in my opinion we were far the better team throughout the game we ran the midfield and our defence rarely looked in trouble and that was not only after Frimpong was sent off, our failing was the lack of a good striker and the final ball. Yes Barnsley had a couple of good chances but we were the better team for 92 of the 97mins played, but RS refused to give Wednesday any credit at all. Disgusting.

Wouldnt worry about radio sheffield if I was you
giddings very dull
rob staton churlish immature
paul walker a blunt

luckily seth bennett has left he was woeful

Omg Milan get us sold already then find that buyer for us and let's buy wickham if he loves the club in the summer, aplus quality CM and CD and were pushing for playoffs.

Agree6 Disagree6

I have no idea what that means. Anyone else got a clue?

Agree10 Disagree1

Man on form imop is kieron lee.

Agree10 Disagree1

Sorry mate; I can`t help you. The "Gibberish" translation app on my phone has packed in.

Agree6 Disagree0

I think it translates as

Milan, get your finger out and find that buyer asap.

Get them to invest in Wickham plus at least two more players (identified as a central midfielder and centre back) and then we might have a chance for the playoff next season.

Could be construed as wishful thinking!

Does anyone know when Antonio is back? Also, just thinking about the summer, it'd be good to keep both Loovens and Onyewu in addition to Gardner wouldn't it, or would the wage bill stretch that far. Does anyone know who out of the squad is out of contract at the end of the season?

I see that CW not coming back, no surprise really that Sunderland will not let him go. It will be interesting to see how far we have come on Saturday at Reading.

Still think that we can prove to be a difficult team to beat, as long as we can keep our defenders fit

Agree0 Disagree1

Hopefully back when he has improved his crossing and concentration levels when defending otherwise won't get in the team IMO

The discussion about transfer window is all about Wickham!
But that's surely not the only problem with not strengthening the squad in the transfer window?
Loovens went off other night, what if that were long term?
What if Semmy, Maguire or Lee pick up a serious injury?
Stuart Gray has literally done wonders with what we have in thesepast few weeks!
Surely that deserved and needed supporting, just like MM said he would!
We need a couple of quality signings because whatever some of ourfans thiink we are very thin on the ground.
Gray is literally doing miracles at present but it's unfair to expect him to keep squeezing blood out of the stone.

Believable26 Unbelievable3

Above poster you hit the nail on the head yes we're doing well but it doesn't take away from the fact that MM keeps saying he's going to do this, that and the other and does none of them so I don't know how people can keep defending him which ever way you look at it we need to strengthen the squad.

wickham could have gone to palace yesterday for 3.5m. but deal didn't happan. hope fully we can get him back on loan. him and afobe up front=demolition

Agree7 Disagree7

Slow down - what about Maguire scored again today, you people seem to forget the talent we already have. The arsenal boy is still not proven Maguire is - so let's think on this before you start shouting why didn't we play wickham and Maguire instead of the new boy. The manager is in a no win situation if he plays the new boy he will get slated if he dosent play well on his first game. If he plays Maguire and he dosent play well it will be why didn't he play the new kid. So if he plays wickham and new boy as you suggest don't mouth off later if it dosent work hope you see where I'm coming from UTO eric the owl

Agree11 Disagree0

We need Wickham because nuhui is shocking I just don't get him, don't look threatening at all. Afode is direct looking to beat a man and shoot which is refreshing. As for mcguire he is playing superbly keeps running all day and got what he deserved a goal. Worried about Maghoma and helan none of them playing well at the minute and with JJ missing now for three we need them to improve.

Agree7 Disagree7

Maghoma needs to believe in himself more and start and use his pace to worry the full backs, Barnsley doubled up on him today. Thought Lee and Maguire were the stand out players today and afobe had a decent debut. Just like to mention how well young Palmers filled in at full back, been steady defending and has made some great runs forward combining with Lee and Maguire. M Rawmarsh Owl

Agree9 Disagree1

Maguire plays wide midfield and looks ok in this position. His busy up and at them style suits midfield. H edoes not have stature or pace for front man, He appreciates bit moe space and freedom wide role gives. Hence Afobe would not be replacing Maguire. Agree with rest of what you said.

Agree4 Disagree3

I honestly believe its a case of getting this season out of the way and re-assessing.
Would love to see Palmer in the middle, or potentially as a right midfielder ala Niklas Alexanderson a few yrs ago, industrious.
Sort out the centre half issues close season, a quality left wiger and see if McCabe can finally step up. Then there is the issue of no striker. having said that Mguire deserves a chance in his favoured position

Agree3 Disagree3

To the poster who mentioned JJ. One of the most over-rated players to wear an owls shirt
the shot today that nearly hit the corner flag was a disgrace. Yes someone will say that's typical JJ but he's always likely to score a stunner. well go on then how many has he scored in the 6or 7 yrs he's bin with us. an how many times has he bin sent off. should sv bin ditched ages ago

Agree7 Disagree6

End of the day he might miss hit a few shots but he also scores as well take the Macclesfield game for instance 1-1 do you think we would have won't if we hadn't brought jj on I don't think we would have tbh his pace is what we needed today that's why he got brought on because that's what we needed shame he got sent off but he can change a game and don't get me wrong he frustrates me when he miss hit balls but what abought nuhiu supposed to be a striker but couldn't hit a barn door he won't be with us for 3 seasons

Agree3 Disagree3

If we don't get Wickham I hope we've got a good replacement lined up because we do need an out and out Goal Scorer.

Agree5 Disagree1

JJ is uauually a good player to have on the bench, as long as he doesn't expect a bigger role than that.

Agree4 Disagree3

I personally think JJ is a luxury player, that we can't afford yes he can bring a bit of magic at times and other times he is a liability. Never been consistent enough for me

Agree11 Disagree2

We are thin on the ground yeah lol. I hear instead of training we are wrapping the squad in bubble wrap and putting them into cold storage to help reduce injury

Agree2 Disagree0

I'm getting thin on top thanks to our beautiful club.
;)

Agree3 Disagree1

Top post totally agreed best thing I've ever heard up the owls!

Where people can say we don't score enough I don't know. I agree with SG there are goals in this team as recent results show. Yes CW was good but he hasn't been the only goal scorer of late. Again the lack of activity during the transfer window was dissapointing but it is not the end of the world. The likes of Barnsley, Yeovil and Millwall had to make signings because of their situation, we have made and continue to make improvements on the pitch so there is no need to panic buy players we either don't need and won't play as some on here would suggest.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Conner wickham will be back at Hillsborough soon as champ clubs can still loan players

Agree10 Disagree1

I really hope so.
