Its all over Twitter that deal for Anthony Gardner has collapsed due to his wage demands

Believable11 Unbelievable6

Thank the Lord for that!

Agree10 Disagree6

Good - not convinced about him moving north anyway ,if his heart's not in it then don't come

Agree7 Disagree7

Greedy b*****d - who wants him in any case? Should get real like NORMAL people have to

Agree8 Disagree5

It's not wage demands, it's personal issues, but yes it's collapsed.

Agree7 Disagree4

Typical has been , why we'd want an injury prone , diva that will prob be good for two year tops, better more loyal players available I'm sure

Agree6 Disagree4

He's going to China,so let's move on

Agree7 Disagree4

You werent saying this about him weeks ago, fickle

Agree2 Disagree5

When originally mentioned I pointed out des not play more than 30 games a season, which to me is nt enough.

Agree2 Disagree1

Mine was the second post and I, among many others, am not being fickle, If you look back you will find that there have always been serious misgivings about: 1) yet anther left-sided central defender 2) his not seeming keen to sign 3) his age and 4) possible fitness issues

Agree3 Disagree1

Nothing to do with wages. And thats a fact!

Agree1 Disagree1

Its not fickle sunshine - when a player is having obviously second thoughts about signing then i don't want them here, if your not committed from the word go then don't come and move on to the next target. Ok MR BLADE NOW DO ONE

Agree3 Disagree0

Latest article in Star makes it clear Gardner is hanging around waiting and hoping for a better deal. Wednesday have done right by saying sign or its off. Gardner a talent but injuries have prevented him reaching heights would have otherwise been possible for him, thinks playing 60 games in 2 seasons proves fitness reliability!

Agree2 Disagree0

I'm still saying what i also said he's a decent player who'd do a job for us. Having said for that plenty of alternatives out there and I'm not ken on taking players whose heart isn't in it.

TEAM FOR 2012/13 SEASON

Kirkland
Buxton/Lee Gardner Llera Mattock
Antonio Clayton Semedo ???
Madine Maguire {Ed032's Note - Decent shout but can't see Llera keeping his place, DJ has made it clear he wants two centre halves..}

Believable1 Unbelievable7

Llera just for time being until another one crops up

Agree1 Disagree6

Are you having a laff! Liera will be first choice centre half!

Agree9 Disagree1

Liera is good solid centre half who can do it in the second tier also can get 5- 10 goals for us which are priceless

Agree8 Disagree1

I rate llera, i think he has a sweet left foot and a good eye for a pass. He can also take a good free kick and keep prolific strikers e.g rhodes quiet.

Agree9 Disagree1

Did somebody forget Reda?

Agree8 Disagree1

I rate Llera but Gardner was a left sided centre half which suggests DJ has a problem with him. His one problem is lack of pace and we wuld need a quick centre half to play with him at this level, for e,g. James Chester.

Agree1 Disagree1

Reda will probably go to centreback plus hes rubbish in championship hence he came to league one he will take grdners place if we do t get batth or any new cb

Agree0 Disagree2

Previous post when I said Jones on his toes I meant Rob - not DJ!

Agree0 Disagree0

Point is Ed I think DJ wants two CB's plus Llera. Jones is likely to be on his toes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that a promotion team? We need some more quality players in!UTO FTB WTID

According to Sky Sports, Anthony Gardner is also interesting an unnamed Chinese club. If he can't be bothered to commit himself to SWFC then he should stick our offer where the sun don't shine. There are better, younger and fitter centre backs out there. (Remember Danny Baath?)

Believable12 Unbelievable1

Yeah we all remember Danny Batth, problem is he has publicly stated he wants to fight for his place at Wolves with them being his hometown club, so therefore we have moved on!

Huddersfield are set to hijack Wednesdays bid to sign Michael Antonio from Reading. The Owls have refused to pay more than £450K and have attempted to secure a 6 month loan deal. The Terriers however are prepared to offer the £700K Reading are asking and the deal will hinge on Antonio agreeing personal terms.

Believable1 Unbelievable14

To be honest this would'nt surprise me if true, we are unwilling to spend big money on anyone thats what pees me off, antonio should be number 1 priority, he helped us immensely to promotion, reading wanting £700k for him is a bargain in my eyes, then we go and offer £450k which for me is derisory, come on mandaric get this kid.

Agree6 Disagree6

Dont think so hes coming to the owls

Agree7 Disagree3

Yeah, the longer this goes on the more it looks like the Ben Marshall saga all over again. £700k is a major amount of cash in today's market and I'd be amazed if Huddersfield would be prepared to pay that amount on one player. However, it wouldn't surprise me if another club nicks him from under our noses. Let's hope DJ has a plan B and MM funds it.

Agree4 Disagree1

Hes coming to wednesday wednesday to sign gardener, james chester, david norris, adam clayton, keith treacy, antonio, chris maguire, nile ranger, michael chopra big signing what a squad for champ wishful thinking

Agree0 Disagree6

Hes coming to wednesday wednesday to sign gardener, james chester, david norris, adam clayton, keith treacy, antonio, chris maguire, nile ranger, michael chopra big signing what a squad for champ wishful thinking

Agree2 Disagree4

Marshall was never coming on a permanent basis. It had nothing to do with money.

Agree0 Disagree2

I bet leicester city make a bid for antonio! Lol

Agree2 Disagree2

Wednesday offered more than Leicester for Marshall, but Marshall chose to go to leicester because it was a higher standard then.

Agree6 Disagree4

We would not match Stokes valuation, Leicester did the above info on Marshall is inaccurate. Dispute between Megson and Mandaric and Mandaric tax case did not help as would not release funds to buy.

Apparently things have changed next month will show how much.

Agree1 Disagree2

Marshall wanted to stay at hillsborough wednesday didnt even put a bid in so dont blame marshall

Agree1 Disagree3

Next month will show what exactly...
Whats that supposed to mean

Agree1 Disagree1

Next month will show what?!?!?

Agree0 Disagree1

Next month will show what, are you trying to say we're signing Marshall?!?!?

Agree0 Disagree1

In the next month or so we will see how much in transfer fees Wednesday are prepared to pay out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Back to original post in this thread, confident Huddersfield report is rubbish. Lots of daft threads on here posted by Trigger and Co and suspect this was also.

Agree0 Disagree0

Antonio isnt signing for huddersfield! He,ll will be a wednesday player before start of season 100% .

Agree5 Disagree0

That statement is true about Wednesday put in a bid in for Marshall, it was in the star ages ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

Marshall was at carlisle game we never put a bid in

Has anybody else seen Chris maguires goal for the u21's ?? all i can say is WOW, type it in on youtube!

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Anyone can do that if keepers off his line.

Agree0 Disagree10

Pele struggled!

Agree5 Disagree0

Why can you the lad is a good player and the so called fans slaggin him off should get a grip

Agree3 Disagree0

Good luck in your next job as a proffessional footballer then, if anyone can do that just wow. Maybe Maguire and bestwetherick could do it.

Agree1 Disagree0

What a narrow minded comment! Not anybody can score like that! U need good technical ability and vision to even attempt it!

Agree3 Disagree1

Anyone can do it?? Amazing!!

Agree2 Disagree0

Iv seen the goal on you tube and what a goal that is

Agree2 Disagree0

Just watched the Maguire goal, anyone can do that GET A GRIP YOU DONUT. Premier league strikers would think twice about trying that.

Agree2 Disagree0

Yes decent goal but things like that only turn up once in a career, maybe twice if your lucky, do you think hes gonna bang em in like that every game cos i can assure you he wont, i play on a sunday and saw 2 last year on parks

Agree1 Disagree0

If this was done by Messi then you wouldnt hear the end of it !!

Agree2 Disagree0

Goals like that are 99% of the time goalkeepers fault, too far out, not paying attention, get a grip folks

Agree0 Disagree1

I refere you back to Lee Briscoe against Arsnal 1-0! Every footballer will score 1 wonder goal dont mean they're any good if he cant score tap ins!

Sheffield Wednesday and others watching the situation with Rangers/Club 12 very carefully. If they aren't voted into the SPL some of the top names will leave and even if they do get voted in there are rumours that some of the players aren't happy with there contracts being transfered to another company and are looking at legal avenues to get themselves released from contract.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Along with about 500 other clubs through europe
