Evening Wednesdayites.

I reported a few weeks ago about the information coming out of Hillsborough about the need for more than 6 players, i now have a bit more info on which players Megson is looking at.

A few deals have already been offered:-

Lewis Buxton - 2 year.
Jermaine Johnson - 2 year.
James O'Conner - 1+1, this one was a surprise.

Jason Koumas - 2+1.
Matt Hill - 2 year.
Martin Devaney - 2 year.

Bids have gone in for Rob Jones and Neil Mellor.

We have also spoken to Adam Le Fondre.

Danny Batth would cost 2m plus so we are looking at a season loan, obviously this won't be until Wolves have decided on their squad for next season.

I do understand that a few more deals are in the pipeline just not sure on names, i will come back with the info ASAP.

Saw this so thought id post it. .

Sheffield Wednesday manager Gary Megson liked what he saw from Sikov during the Ermis vs. Ethnikos Achnas game this past Saturday.

Vance Sikov started in his usual CB position for Ethnikos Achnas and made his presence known to Sheffield Wednesday manager Gary Megson. Although Sikov only played 50 minutes because of a leg injury that forced him to be substituted, he showed his value to Megson. Sikov will soon like to make his choice for a new team and two teams, Sheffield Wednesday and Cypriot giants APOEL, have expressed the most interest in signing Sikov.

Sikov could become a replacement for fellow Macedonian CB Boban Grncarov at APOEL but Sikov is thought to be preferring a move to England to jumpstart his career. Sikov will be getting married on May 21, 2011 and there are some whispers that he would like to make his decision on a new team before the wedding.

As for Sikov, he is known as being a player with good character who works hard and is a solid team player. He is fairly durable and hasn t missed many games due to injuries. Sikov does have a tendency to pick up yellow cards but not because of a temper, just aggressive play and not being afraid of contact

Just also read this, so keepin u informed lol

GARY Megson will explore the loan market as well as trying to land players whom the Owls can call their own.

He has already made one inquiry about an undisclosed target who could be available on loan.

The Wednesday manager said: Nothing is decided or undecided [on loans].

Ordinarily, loans don t happen until just before the season starts, which isn t ideal for us.

But I have spoken to a manager because he has a player he won t sell, and we couldn t afford [to buy him].

But a loan deal could be considered. There are possibilities, admitted Megson

This may not be the only inquiry of its type for Wednesday this summer - depending how their search for full signings goes.

Megson has targeted nine players, six would be free transfers, and three would cost fees.

He has already used the loan system to good effect, signing Rob Jones and Danny Batth to play an important part in tightening up the team defensively this season.

The two centre halves are thought to be on his list of summer targets but that has not stopped him also being linked with Claude Davis, who has been released by Crystal Palace, and Macedonian centre back Vance Sikov, though Megson has said all his targets are British.

Megson refuses to comment about specific players. He could, however, be targeting Jason Koumas, the Wigan midfield player who is on loan at Cardiff.

Koumas s contract at Wigan expires this summer. He was signed by Megson for West Brom and was in the Baggies team that went up from the Championship in 2004.

Megson will want to sign at least one midfield player and is looking to inject extra quality into his squad.

Scunthorpe boss Alan Knill has said he expects Wednesday to ask about a full deal for Rob Jones: The indication is that they are quite happy with him, so I would expect us to have some sport of communication with Wednesday.

Whether we will be asking a fee for him, I m not sure; that s not really my shout.

But it is thought that the Iron would look to recoup some of the £350,000 that Jones cost from Hibs two years ago.
