Heard from a kid that works at training ground that Andy Johnson is on his way to s6 any truth in this ed?

Believable11 Unbelievable5

{Ed040's Note - I've not heard anything on this one mate but I hope not and if what we know about Mr Mammadov is true then I think we'd be looking at a better quality striker

Another that is past it in my view so I hope not. I cannot lie however I am absolutely gagging to know our first signing as I think it will give us a strong view as to where we are shopping. Is it waitrose, sainsburry's, aldi or Scoop & Save. My guess would be sainsburry's with a few selected bargains from Aldi. Initially at any rate

Agree8 Disagree2

Scoop and save mate. Look at the freebies we've signed over the last couple of weeks. Our future signings will be like they have been for the last 10 years. Cheap or free and crap!

Agree4 Disagree6

{Ed040's Note - doubt it pal. Onwards and upwards now wawaw. He hi adio up the football league we go

You mean the 2 development squad players we signed before we were actually taken over and that who knows may develop into players we want even after the take over?

Agree4 Disagree1

Why do you doubt my above statement Ed?

Agree2 Disagree2

{Ed040's Note - I just can't see us scraping the bottom of the barrel anymore

I hope you are 100% right but my fear is we maybe expecting too much. We've no idea how much we are going to spend on players (if anything) or what the new owners long term plans are. We see new owners of clubs very often these days and unless the owners got a bottomless pit of money nothing really changes. I can even think of several championship clubs that have been taken over in recent years but it's not made much of a difference to the playing staff or league position.

Agree2 Disagree1

The tone of the negative person smacks of the guys from Wednesdayite whohave not got over they were unable to take over club and almost recked it. Mammadov record is good he put 15 million Euros into Lens last year. I would be happy with similar amount into Wednesday this year.
Have you noticed recruitment for Academy aimis to take to top level. This is good news, this started as soon as he agreed takeover.

I expect signings to come thick and fast once they start.

Agree2 Disagree2

No I'm not from Wednesdayite I am simply a Wednesday fan who's not getting too excited. You keep reminding me that he put €15 million in to Lens but that doesn't mean he's going to put anything like that in to us. Just like he hasn't with the club that he owns in his home country. Anyway even if he did give us the same amount do you really think that would be enough to get us up to the promised land? All 3 of last seasons clubs relegated from the premier league will have more money to play with than us plus several more in our league will also leave us behind when it comes to spending power so all I'm saying is don't expect too much. You may find yourself extremely deflated by Christmas.

Agree1 Disagree5

How do you know that 'seversl' of the clubs already in the champs will leave us behind in the spending.

Agree1 Disagree1

Didn't know they employed 'kids' at the training ground.

Agree0 Disagree0

Even if Mamma did give us £15 million, that wouldn't be enough to improve this team enough to get us up. Like the sporting financial expert today says in the Star it would probably take around £25million. Like I said, don't get too excited.

Agree0 Disagree1

£25m!! Just like what burnley didn't spend.

Agree1 Disagree1

The Star is hardly gospel now is it?

Wedneyites would not have been able to muster up £15 let alone millions.

Hopefully SG will stay, I think he has an eye for a player, I want young hungry players willing to give their all for the Massive. Add a couple of out of favour Premier League squad players on loan with option to buy if a success.
There's no rush though, we need to see what the four out of contract players are doing before replacing them. Up the Owls

Believable8 Unbelievable15

We can't just keep wdry aiting for them to decide what to do though. How long do we give them.? We're the mighty swfc and shouldn't wait for anyone when it's our club at stake. Would like Kirkland and loovens to sign though. Owls to make a move for Vardy. Would like this to be true, may not get much of a chance at Leicester now they are promoted. Uto

Agree1 Disagree6

Think when new contract offered a player has a fixed time to accept before it lapses. certain offer will lapse before begining of July.

I think Gray has good contacts and can get best out of players. I would like m to stay but want the DoF post filled with capable person. Think Bullen good motivator and deehan handy at admin side. We need another capable tactician who can help and support Gray.

Agree5 Disagree4

I think we have to wait for the four to decide, if we sign replacements and they decide to stay we'll have too many players in one area, does that sound right or am I simplifying it and getting it wrong?

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed040's Note - I understand what you saying now lol. I reckon we need them to sign as well as signing a youthful cb and we still need a decent back up keeper martinez was only on loan and if we really looking to push on then we need a good engine in midfield

We don't need them if they wouldn't sign soon, after all we are a revitalised club with a record breaking owner Mammadov who knows what to do and how to plan/develop. NO MORE BEGGING for certain players to sign those days have gone now, they better be fast if they really want to commit to our club, otherwise good bye. NDS

Agree3 Disagree3

Agree, I think all four are good players but the offer has been on the table for some time now, enough is enough, withdraw the offer don't wait forever.

Agree7 Disagree1

Why shouldn't the 4 players look at all other other options before deciding? Honestly some people are so deluded and let there heart rule their heads.

Agree5 Disagree2

I can't agree with much of what's in the posts above. We have to think in a different way now and on an entirely different level. If you were the owner and you wanted as close to guaranteed promotion next May as you can get how many of the current squad would you keep. I suspect not many. But a wholesale clear out is not realistic either. I expect the new players coming in to be capable of getting us in the Premiership and keeping us there as the first stage of a gradual progression towards a permanent Premiership place. And players of the right quality are not going to come on one year contracts or, I would think, on loan. Forget how you have thought about players before, it's all changed now.

Agree1 Disagree2

I hope I am wrong but I personally think we will have to keep the books correct for at least this season and instead of splashing big money out on hopeful transfers we should calmly look around and get sensible workmanlike players in for sensible money. The new owner may have a few of his home country players that he will bring with him, I see that two Baku players carry his surname, but that may be like Smith and Jones across here. I am of the opinion that the four holding out regarding their contracts should get an ultimatum first of July or on your bikes thanks but goodbye. I would like the lads pulling on the team shirts to be here because they want to be and not just for the sake of the money, even though that is important. Let us be wary of diving into the transfer market for the sake of just buying someone. We definitely need stronger defenders and a midfield general with a bit of a devil in him, in the mould of Roy Keane but not as petted. We also need a prolific goal scorer, but who does not.
I would gladly leave everything up to S. G and co and let us see what happens and hope for the best.

Want to start a poll what players should wednesday be looking at, who would you like to see in a wednesday shirt next season, and before you start yes we all want Messi and ronaldo but there a couple of seasons away I want to know who you think for the upcoming season

Believable1 Unbelievable1

It's a tough one that, because of late we have brought in players that where never expected.
Then the appointment of Mammadov was also out of the blue, despite it dragging on for a while.
As some fans have also noted, there is a fair chance of players coming from abroad due to Mammy's experience over the pond.
Overall, I'm expecting exciting times, it's just a question of being patient and possibly expecting he unexpected.
UTO either way.

Agree3 Disagree1

It is a tough one and we prob won't get any that people mention I'm just interested to see what class of player you all think we should be after, there's a few big names been released this season do you think we could get those types of players or am I the only one that thinks money talks and with the right selling pitch surely we could be getting better than the tripe we been mentioning on here previous

Agree2 Disagree1

Glenn Murray, David nugent, Jamie vardy, Patrick bam ford, Ishmael miller are some of the strikers I'd like to see.

Agree8 Disagree8

That's same tripe I was talking about lol, I'd like to see ambition like offering contracts to eto'o, lampard, schwarzer, lescott big names that have no club offer them a good wage and sell em the dream. I understand 90% would say no but we only 1 or 2 to say yes

Agree3 Disagree7

I don't want any of those players they are all too old, wouldn't come and wouldn't be motivated it would just be coming for a last pay day. RC Lens supposedly have a world class academy that has brought through amongst others Jimmy Kebe and Adel Taarabt. I would rather see 2 or the 3 of those young players come together with some quality more realistic signings than those you mention

Agree6 Disagree0

{Ed040's Note - don't forget varane I for one am defo looking forward to that link

Varane looks set to be one of the best CB's in the world. Quality player.

Agree2 Disagree1

St ledger shay given (if Kirkland don't sign) Deeney from watford Danny bath and Tony Hibbert from Everton. but with our new owner having shares in athletic Madrid and porto it wouldn't surprise me to see a few up and coming from there b teams. as well as some from lens

Agree2 Disagree1

Nothing going to happen till all is finalised and there's a world full of quality players out there and not ALL will get snapped up I'm sure, patience is a virtue. Why can't wednesday be looking at world cup players no one's saying Messi or the like but there's decent players there we could get, leckie is one that impressed other day ozzie winger/front man.

Paul walker says takeover could be 2-3 weeks for completion! Source is twitter

Believable0 Unbelievable5

Not a good thing or a bad thing to be honest window doesn't open till then.

Agree2 Disagree1

Suspected as much. Nothing was going to be rushed whilst the world cup was going on. Just going to Av to be patient i, m afraid. Oh and before anyone mentions all the best available players will be snapped up, they wont. The world cup affects all clubs in some ways. Also there are plenty of good players available I imagine

Agree2 Disagree0

What might be nice would be to say to our undecided quartet to either sign immediately or we will move on without them

Agree7 Disagree1

Is anyone seriously suggesting that anyone @ the World Cup is destined for Hillsborough?

Agree3 Disagree3

Not unless it's Waddle as Manager or Adrian Chiles as centre half

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed040's Note - I'd take both but I'd put waddle back on left wing lol
