Any one heard of brazilian striker called brando signing from st ettiene

Believable6 Unbelievable4

{Ed040's Note - ye brandao used to play for shakhtar a few years ago averaged about 1 in 2 for them but he didn't really do anything before or after them other than last season when he got 17 goals, not sure he's the right man for us never really been prolific and he's got to be about 35 now

15 Jul 2014 16:59:51
Brandao he's a goal poacher looking at bids on YouTube 34 years old a whippersnapper compared to Kevin Phillips lol

Agree4 Disagree0

Sounds good to me. Ok he is 34, however he has got experience which will be valuable to the other strikers. Yeah I think he is worth a punt!!

Agree5 Disagree2

Definitely worth a year contract!!

Worth a contract!
How did you come to this conclusion? Is it because he's Brazilian? Is it because he's experienced? Is it because you'd just be happy having any signings in because of previous seasons lack of ambition?
How much do you really know about him? Have you ever seen him play or just watched a few youtube clips of all his highlights?
Honestly potentially having a bit of a kitty and some people lose all sensibility(if they had any sense in the first place that is)

Agree4 Disagree6

Brandao only scored 5 goals for St Etienne last season but by all accounts leads the line well and brings in others around him with strong link play. Was never the pacy striker but has some tricks in his locker and is very good in the air, scoring a hell of a lot of headed goals. I think a 1 year deal would be ideal for all parties and he could be a bit tasty at Championship level.

Agree5 Disagree2

Brandao won title 3years on trot with Donetsk, then left them to go to Marseille and they won the Ligue1 title for first time in 18 yrs!
So I think we should deff sign him because if he's either VERY good OR he's VERY VERY lucky!

Agree7 Disagree1

Brandao has bags of experience. Might be getting on now but played at the top level most his career. Champions league experience etc. Would definitely be worth a year could be the player to take us up thenwe should attract better quality any ways.

Agree2 Disagree0

Brandao is not Brazilian, he is French. Was born in Brazil to French parents that's all

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed029's Note - Born in Brazil but he's not Brazilian?

Mmm, Connor Wickham just turned down a 3 year deal at Sunderland!
I wonder if. ?
Nah, just dreaming -- but we are, aren't we -- still don't know where we stand with this takeover and the size of the transfer pot.
Trying to stay positive and remain ever hopeful of at least one " shock " transfer deal.

Believable11 Unbelievable6

Sleaford owl that would be an awesome dream.I would baby cradle him from Sunderland to Hillsborough. I know he loved his time with us, but surely we can never pull off a deal like this, or could we??

Agree5 Disagree3

All we need is a good striker and a playmaker
Come on SG do us proud

Agree6 Disagree1

Conner wickham would be a fantastic signing but his wages would be a lot more than we could afford must be on a decent wage at sunderland, still we live in hope

Agree8 Disagree0

Wickham not had good time at Sunderland in last year of contract. If he has poor start to season and finds himself out of side he could well end up with us. If starts scoring for fum will be beyond our reach.
Rumoured Leicester offered £5 million and that is about right price fo him as had good form at premier level for a few games. Hi play for Wednesday was different class to his other performances so we have higher opinio of him. let's hope we start well and Sunderland do not.

Agree7 Disagree1

Guys think we have to accept he's gone for good. I think he's likely trying to bolster his wages or get better terms. Given the situation Sunderland have with strikers and the finish he had to last season he knows he can call some of the shot's, they must be desperate to keep him. I'd love to be completely wrong but can only dream of him coming back again, think he's probably a better player now than when he left us.

Is this takeover happening or not? I really do hope it's not another of his feel goods. x

Agree0 Disagree5

Strad - so obviously an outsider stirring it up!

Agree4 Disagree1

HOWLer you've got to luv 'em, god bless 'em. Deal or No Deal? Back after the break.

Connor wickham at the massive? You've absolutely no effin chance! If a club like Leicester can't prize him away surely what chance do you think we have? Seriously get real.

Agree1 Disagree6

Andymac - "scoresagoal"?
You're not even on target mate!
Either with your estimate of when the takeover will be 'Ratified by the League', because that's all we are waiting for, or your very sad and very tired attempts to stir it up like your mate Strad above!

Why is it when somebody has a genuine concern and voices there opinion on here they get called negative or a doubter or even a United fan? Having your own opinion and not being a yes man is a good quality to have. People like hOWLer and Kbs need to grow a pair and stop being sheep. Pathetic.

Agree5 Disagree5

Strad - You say you have "genuine concern" - but about what - A lack of progress?
Just a few weeks ago we were hoping for a footy godfather to come and buy our club from MM and take us to the promised land.
We now have that prospect.
We are only waiting for the "powers that be" to rubber stamp the deal so that the new owner can begin that journey.
Surely you appreciate and accept that he is not going to pump money in to the club before it is actually confirmed as his?
I can accept criticism and concern when its based on substance.
I never suggested you should be a "yes" man, I just don't get what you are saying "NO" to and I don't think you do either.
Just moaning about how long the Ratification is taking - which is totally out of MM & Mammas hands - and suggesting that its some kind of "feelgood conspiracy" is sad and totally pointless IMO.

My concerns are these. Rumors of arrests of our potential new owner and reports of bankruptcy. His record of running another football club (RC Lens) some players reportedly not being paid, his failure to deposit a large amount of money in to an account by a certain date and blaming it on a bank holiday. Surely he knows what a bank holiday is it's in the name. Now we hear that RC Lens's promotion has been cancelled due to the above (mistake) just a small blip then. Try telling the Lens fans that. If this is how this bloke runs football clubs then I've got a right to be concerned.

Agree5 Disagree3

Strad: I would share your concerns if they were the truth or the whole story, But you are quoting just ONE side of the story which is being manipulated and peddled by some French journos with very dubious motives.
Mammas Record of running another club/s: - he is a shareholder in Athletico Madrid which you choose to ignore and rarely gets repeated on here?
Athletico were doing OK the last time I looked!
He bought in to Lens and they got promoted to the French Prem the very next season! Nice one eh!
Failure to deposit? - he has deposited 38million with Lens but the French Lge were insisting on 48million, that's the 10mill shortfall / Bank Holiday story that the press has chosen to report.
The real reason is the French Lge don't want Lens in their Prem is because they don't own their own ground!
If he really had money worries he wouldn't be handing over 38mill to Lens and offering 40mill for the Massive all at the same time would he?
The Lens fans, you are right they are up in arms - but with the way they are being victimised by the French Lge, but definitely NOT with Mamma
The facts, the full stories, are in the public domain to be easily found if you are that concerned?
You will need to use a translation website for some of the stuff but its all out there, just avoid the gutter press stuff.

Agree5 Disagree1

Can't wait now hOWLer you have filled me with so much confidence and positivety we have nothing to be concerned about at all hope you feel the same Mi Ole Matey STRAD

Sorry my old chum but I'm still extremely concerned. I'll give a tenner to a charity of your choice if Mamma gets his wish of taking over our fantastic club. Just can't see it happening. Ask yourself why MM's not jumped ship yet.

Agree0 Disagree3

I thought MM stated quite a while ago that this was his last challenge.
A bit long in the tooth to be jumping ship.

Agree1 Disagree0

Strad - after your last post I'm going to have to give up on you mate - "why has MM not jumped ship?"
Your original post questioned why the takeover hasn't been ratified - then you say why hasn't MM jumped ship? - Think even you can work that one out?
But in any case in big business people don't " jump ship " as you put it.
Its quite normal for the Chairman to remain in position after a takeover until the new owner has all his own people in place, and that is exactly what will happen at S6.
Get your tenner ready!

Agree4 Disagree1

I'm pretty sure this takeover will go through and almost certain a few more players will be arriving before the season begins. Quite probably we'll be seeing a few names added to the team sheet over the next few friendlies (much better to see what they can do before jumping the gun and ending up with another load of future dead wood as in previous administrations). As for Wicham, the likelihood of him being shipped out on loan is premium if he fails to sign a new contract. Knowing what we got out of him last time could well make us favourites to loan him again, (especially after his time at Weeds) as they parade him in the shop window hoping for a good deal. UTO!
