New season around the corner, and we are still penny pinching for the frees we need some quality signings in the areas fans have been shouting for, for many moons, how much longer. I wasn't expecting a war chest but it seems like the biscuit barrel is what we are getting at the moment. I hope like the other fans that there will be some good signings soon. As for this striker, come on, terrible record
And in Eredivisie as well, most of which is League one standard. We can do better.

He has scored 10 goals in 12 games for the Dutch under-21s. Don't knock him before we know the full story. Have faith in SG and we will be fine!

london owl he is now 24 years old what's this nonsense about under 21s, as for peter crouch this gets more and more silly, it was Darren Bent a month ago
I can't see there being much more happening before the start of the season, I think most of the transfers will happen in the next window when Mammadov gets settled in.

Livinhopeowl - nonsense? That is a fact. Chris Maguire didn't have many goals to his name before us, but now he is getting lots of matches with good players around him he is hitting his potential. A striker's goals to games ratio isn't always the full story.

Leeby, I will try and help you, go to the top of the page it says Sheffield Wednesday Rumours, that means this is a rumours site about Sheffield Wednesday. I spent much of the day at the Owls in the Park yesterday enjoying being in the company of positive supporters and meeting some of the players. I spoke to a lot of people and quiet a few repeated the same rumour about Peter Crouch. According to some he has been told by Stoke that he will not be a first choice player this season and he wants to play regularly as he is now 33, to do that he may have to drop down to the Championship. As this is a rumour I thought I would post it on our rumours page. Does that help.

This dutch bloke may not have scored all that many goals for his previous club, but with right amount of service from our wingers or midfield, whose to say what he might be capable of. Personally, I don't give a Zeefuck about his past. obviously someone sees something in him!

Oh my god what tripe! I mean really are the likes of SG or whoever is in the know about any signings going to share that at a family fun day in the park?? What drivel! If people are going to make rumours up at least put something together what makes you even remotely wonder if there's any substance behind it?
Oh by the way on another note I popped into the club shop after the fun in the park and the rumour is that Manchester City are to put yaya toure out on loan to us to punish him for complaining about his Asda Birthday cake or something like that! Hey don't shoot the messenger ;)

I am fully aware this is a rumours page Derbyshire Owl, I don't believe anywhere it says make it up as you go along page.
I'm aware there was plenty of wish list talk at the burger stands around the park on Sunday. I would love to see Crouch play for us but he's on a fortune, and I'm sure there is a list of lower end Premier league clubs would take him before we get a sniff.
If it does happen though I'll grovel and bow to your mastery and knowledge. UTO
We need a proven goal scorer, not a possible goal scorer such as this Dutch lad.
By all means bring somebody like that in to strengthen the squad and maybe they will turn out to be prolific.
Crouch would be ideal, but I can't personally see it happening, plus I expect his wage demands would be huge.

Ed could you please finally explain to people what a rumour is, for some reason people won't listen unless it's what an ed writes, it's just getting boring now
{Ed013's Note - I rumour can be anything you or someone has heard with regards to a player coming or going. It doesn't have to be a true fact or neither does a source have to be disclosed. The problem we have is people make up rubbish to get a reaction}
We do need a proven championship Goal scorer I agree but we should be looking to bring in 2 strikers so a signing like this Dutch Lad may be what we need its a chance for him and us. If we also signed someone like Nicky Mayard/ Sam Baldock then we would have 4 and be able to famr out Madine who is just not up to it at this level.
Surely a rumours is something that is made up and passed around by hearsay until it becomes fact.
Maybe you should go and set up a Sheffield Wednesday Facts page, I doubt very much that there would be that many subscribers!
The fact of the matter is that the only ones that know what is happening at the club, are those inside the club.
Two players rumoured around championship clubs Owen Garvan & Jay Simpson any thoughts? Are we going to be one of the clubs?
