Well it's back to the norm losing again. I now think Dave Jones as been given enough time, money etc and unfortunately it's just not working out. We need a new manager with new ideas and we need him soon. We could still get up the table with a good run of results and even make the play offs by starting our season now with a new man in the hot seat. Paulo would be a risk and Harry would demand big money but it could be worth it in the long run.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Harry may be the man to come in just for rest of this season and put something in place to take us forward. Other than that can only see MM bringing a surprise foreign manager in.

What on earth are you talking about?!
Playoffs? Harry Redknapp?! Sacking one of the best managers at this level?!!
Take a reality check. Jesus himself couldn't get us into the playoffs this year. We should be happy with survival and then build for next season. Next season we should aim for mid table. And so on...stepping stones

Agree8 Disagree4

What on earth are you talking about ?
One of the best managers at this level ?Really ?
Do his transfer dealings match that ? Does our league position match that ?
DJs ability at this level is now at Arsenal and I bet MM is slowly realising that, in fact I bet hes in the shed at the bottom of his garden now sharpening his axe !

Agree8 Disagree4

I agree with with you stick with Mr Jones let the muppets think we will get rednapp that's to all short term memory loss fans ( ha ) who was singing his name last season ME OWD THE OWL wtid

Agree4 Disagree0

Bad enough now wait till we get stuffed at boro, just cant see how we can do owt there, DJ not got a clue just blames refs now

I disagree about Terry Burton being Dj's brain.
They were only together at Cardiff and then briefly at us.
Dave Jones won promotion to the premier league with wolves and was awarded premier league manager of the year at southampton all WITHOUT the help of Terry Burton.
Get over Terry Burton FFS

Agree4 Disagree1

OK Wiki .. where is DJs brain then ??

Agree4 Disagree2

He spent most money in history at Wolves and got sacked too ! And got sacked at Cardiff cos he couldn't get them out of champs . Deffo just the man for us ?

Agree3 Disagree0

Get real ALDRIDGE pulls the strings ,how many think we need a quality finisher madine is useless at this level, ogrady huffs and puffs but will blow no houses down.we need 4-4-2 not 4-5-1,it says to me jones is trying to avoid losing more than going for a win.

Agree0 Disagree2

Aldridge like everybody else does what MM says. He just gets the message from MM to pass down day to day cos MM out of country a lot of time.
Make no mistake onlly one wan in charge at Hillsboro n DJ will know that !

Agree1 Disagree1

If we trying to avoid losing why dont DJ know how to defend. Same all season if anybody get in our half they score end of . Like somebody said no idea just blame refs now . Sick of it tbh

Agree3 Disagree0

DJ lost it and wants out his attitude stinks just blames ref after every game now

Agree1 Disagree1

I am doing my best.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that you DJ ?? Worra plonka !!

we now have a moaning depressing manager, whose negativity and public outbursts about his players and now referees is at best annoying, at worst relegation material. There is no confidence in the team, and has anybody seen Hillsborough as quiet as last night. 300 Blackpool fans making more noise than 20,000 of us! , well thats because like the team the energy has been sucked out of us by the management team. Team, now theres a word, remember Mr Megson, not blessed with great footballers last year, but what he did do was build a team, with fantastic spirit and a collective will to win. Mr Jones took over that team, but now he seems hell bent on changing all the players with players who just arent upto it. I dont like singling players out but Bothroyd does not want to even be here, he couldnt be less interested. The rest of them are all looking at each other waiting for something to happen. its time for change.

Believable9 Unbelievable3

At first I supported David Jones and wanted him to have time to settle things down. Now I honestly and regretfully feel that there should be no place for a manager who spreads despondency rather than hope. Other than the youngsters who were brought in as "development" players (and are now being asked unfairly to perform above their station),there have been some dreadful signings. Time to move on.

Lifelong Owl

Agree4 Disagree2

MM please bring back Megson and back him this time .
He proved he can put Owls passion in to the team, just look what he achieved with nothing to spend.
And hes won more promotions in to Prem than DJ has

Agree6 Disagree2

Sorry to mention it again but it was obviously Burton that was the brains behind Jones. Since he left we've gone freefall and only won two matches against bottom teams and a cup tie when Fulham didnt turn up.
Jones only solution seems to be Stick with Bothroyd , upset the refs , and fingers crossed the learning curve straightens up

We're going down if we don't pick up NOW!. Whatever is required MM, do it! Lackluster performance after lackluster performance. Jones out!

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Agree, getting bored with jones excuses.

Agree4 Disagree1

Agreed jones out excusses all the time relegation football he keeps saying learning curve should of bought champ players in the summer rubbish change needed

Agree6 Disagree0

Spot on OK got some good young talent for future but what he should have done first is bring in some champ players to make sure we dont struggle like we are

Agree6 Disagree0

ALDRIDGE PULLS THE STRINGS ,JONES WORKS WITH WHAT HE IS GIVEN.

Agree0 Disagree0

Somebody found the caps lock. Well done.

Agree0 Disagree0

No need to SHOUT !!
I remember a few months ago people used to say the same about Gary Megson ....... it didnt stop MM sacking him !

We were given a lesson last night and it showed what is wrong at Hillsborough, the defence for the most part did ok. I know Blackpool scored two goals but were restricted to few attempts at goal. The midfield and attack is the problem, the midfield is naïve and too inexperienced, the playing experience of Corry, MaCabe and Barkley is less than three seasons between them, they are learning their trade, if we had any one of those players in the team with a quality experienced player we might get away with it but we don't so we have to play Semedo as a minder. Last night we played five in midfield and were still out played by Blackpool's midfield three.
Antonio is also a young player who is learning his trade and he along with Corry, MaCabe and Barkley are going to be an asset to the club but can we afford them all in the team at the moment. As for JJ, well JJ is JJ he can beat anybody on his day, his skill is second to none but too many managers have tried to get him to think about his game and play the right ball at the right time unfortunately they have all failed.
We do not have a quality striker, Madine is the only one on the books who has scored more than twenty goals in a season and he can't get on the pitch, O'Grady works his socks off but is never going to be a twenty goal a season striker, Rodri, looks lost when he comes on as does Pecnik. Rodri and Pecnik could have a future but lack experience at this level. I can't comment in Maguire I have never seen him play. Then we come to Bothroyd I can't understand how he gets his place. Over the last three games that I have seen him play he has constantly given the ball away and got caught in possession, he is never where he should be and wanders about the pitch as though he is on a stroll. He is not good enough; he looks as though he is there just to pick up his wages.
I said to my son after I saw us play in the pre season friendliest that I though Jones had made a big mistake. We had a good league one team that need some quality additions and Jones has brought in players that are either no better than we had last season or are kids who are not ready for the Championship. Jones insistence on playing Bothroyd will cost him his job.

Believable13 Unbelievable0

Long winded some might think, but I agree with every word and it has to be said.
I've said similar things consistently and been accused of not being an Owl etc, etc.
Being loyal doesn't mean ignoring mistakes, keeping quiet and agreeing with everything the manager does !!
I was here when Harry Catterick was here and I'll be here when Dave Jones has gone ! Like all the other loyal fans !
DJ is a good manager - but he has made some BIG mistakes most of which are listed above but the TWO biggest ones for me are:- 1) Buying young players for the future before making sure we have one!! He should have strengthened last seasons side in key positions to give those young players time to grow - and (2) Building the team round ONE of his favourite players who has not justified that faith with his performances. It must also hurt the morale of the rest of the team when sub-standard performances get rewarded with another pick !
We need DJ to change now or I am sure MM will change DJ.

Agree12 Disagree0

Up front our only threat is Antonio. Everything depends on him. Nothing in the middle, hence few goals. The players try hard but with a poor set-up ,poor selection, gloomy moans and excuses from a depressing manager it HAS TO change. And yes, I am a loyal fan but I am not blind.

Agree8 Disagree0

Need to start giving madine some full starts for 4-6 games and see how he goes, bothroyd wont be here for ever and at moment ogrady is struggling, against boro madine and mcguire xxx

Agree0 Disagree1

Maguire is out for 6weeks injured otherwise DJ was going to send him to Portsmouth - another puzzle eh?

Agree2 Disagree0

Poster above who says Bothroyd wont be here forever .... have you heard something , hope so.

Agree0 Disagree0

Me too

To Dave jones are we really playing our strongest team! Are we playing the right formation! Are players playing out of position! Glad to see lierra back playing regular in the team And think beevers should be back at hillsbrough I won't slag anybody off who wears the Wednesday shirt or anybody associated with this famous club if the answer is yes to all 3 then carry on doing your best for us If no then act now

Believable9 Unbelievable0

No to all 3
It was Megsons side what won promotion and jones side will get us relegated get Megson back to sort out the mess now

Agree3 Disagree2

Sorry but disagree (I am a big megson fan as a player ) b4 the blunts game we played Exeter Steveage & chesterfield lost all three the football under Garry was too negative we let too many points slip away trying to defend a lead its a manager who's honest enough to make changes when needed even if it means dropping players es brought in

Agree5 Disagree1

If you are a Megson fan you would know he is strong enough to do what it takes to make the Owls successful.
All the Megson critics forget he got hardly money from MM at all, less than half mill to get us to playoffs. DJ has spent a fortune in comparison but not spent a penny on what we needed..... experience.

Agree2 Disagree0

Megson could have took us all the way if MM had backed him with all that money what DJ has wasted on his signings

Jay Bothroyd, he has to go back to where he came from, give Madine his chance along with Ogrady to prove what they did last year was no fluke. We have the players so Jones realise this and let them do their business
