Butland close to signing. Why oh why?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No need to sign another goal keeper unless it is the intention to sell Kirkland for cash and free up his wages, but at this late stage I cannot see that happening. As for other signings I will be totally surprised if anyone comes in. With a Manager whose face and demeanour is totally a picture of sadness and gloom, would you want to come to the Wednesday. The mongers of doom and gloom around the place are being well led by our own manager. To me his tactics and nature are negative and as a result the lads will also feel and play that way. How about a change of character at the helm and get the lads playing with a smile on their faces and to the best of their ability.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on. I've been saying that for months: long face imparts no enthusiasm to the players.

Agree0 Disagree0

The only thing I would let Dave Jones sign is his resignation

this transfer deadline day sums up season - hopeless, boring and a waste of time!

There will be a lot of Wednesday fans hoping that at the end of the day Jones and Mandaric will pick a couple of bunnies out of the hat, I wouldn't be surprised if they did, and as a Wednesday fan it would be great, but there again I have no faith in Jones's signings either signed or loaned. There has been a lot, can anybody tell me, has any one signing been great. He is signing players that will only play one way oooooofffff

Nobody is coming to Wednesday and I should know. Let's leave it at that. Thanks for the unbelievable support.

Just been reading twitter and one deluded blade has claimed they have 80 million in their bank. The new invester has taking half share of the club, this would put a value of 160 million pounds on United. I almost choked while laughing my but off, what absolutely deluded fools. {Ed001's Note - even if someone did buy half the club for 80m, that money would go to whoever owned the shares, not the club.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

My work mates now think i'm nuts as I laughed out loud reading that. Thanks for brightening up a rubbish day at work posting that. I'm sure he meant £80 but his zero key got stuck!

Dave Richards is a wednesday fan. He had a go and let's not forget he was in the hot seat when we were watching the best football team in our history. some people are blinded because he didn't keep Ron Atkinson on the 2nd time around, the same Ron Atkinson that although was superb for us did in fact lie to us and walked away. I wish I was going through the Richards era again because on the pitch it was superb. As for the Hulleys and Allens of this world I cringe at the thought and as for Mr Mandaric the honeymoon is over. spend or without doubt this squad will take us back 2 years.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Atkinsons side may be the best team in your history, an yeh they were great to watch. However Cattericks team were better. Also what about the teams that won the top division donkeys years ago

why is jones trying for jack butland, its two decent midfielders we want and a recognised striker, what's point in bringing savic and lambin if he's not going to play them.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree, its par for the course. Jones said Savic needed a few weeks to settle in. He's an U21 international striker for heavens sake. Will Real Madrid give Bale six weeks to settle in: what's different.

Isn't it exciting watching all the transfer news on tv knowing that there is NOTHING to get excited about at S6!

Come on MM you watch the games even you must admit we need at least 3 DECENT signings to make us competitive or it's League One again for us I fear

What's with all the negativity, this is a tough league and we have had a tough start. Qpr, Leeds, middlesboro all away and an established champ team only just relegated from prem in Burnley. We have been in front in 4 of our 5 games so far and with a bit of luck we would have 8 pts. We need two decent signings today or on loan for midfield. Savic looks sharp and must be given a chance against yeovil. So stop moaning and get behind the boys. We might not set the world alite but we will be ok this season

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Millwall?

Agree0 Disagree0

Savic looks sharp, yeah in development games, what about first team. all pre season we have been wanting a recognised striker and yet signs nuhiu who's had a half decent game and savic who's been signed for youth team. league one here we come at this rate unless some decent loan players arrive. but knowing our luck we will get someone in the sidibe mould

Go on then Mr NDS. With our limited budget who would you have signed instead? I think we have made some good signings within our limited budget and I am more than happy to not break the bank and risk the club again, yes we are lacking in a couple of areas but that can be covered by the loan market. I know you could name loads of names if money was no object but as I said who would you have signed with the budget we had.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Couldn't agree more. Too much negativity. We aren't going to win the league. Fact. Never were. However we are making progress with the squad but we can't afford proven talent at this level. We have the makings of a decent defence, given a while to gel they will be solid. Dave will dip into the loan market and get some young talent up front. We can't afford the fee or wages for the sort of strikers we want on a permanent deal. When will people get that, its simple economics.
Frankly I would rather we kept ourselves debt free than buying everyone. Obviously some people on here don't realise money doesn't grow on trees. We can't sack DJ. that costs money to pay him off and bring in a new manager.

Yes, he makes some interesting tactical calls, but when the team is low in confidence it's easy to point blame with hindsight. We scream for stability, then scream for change. Get in the stands and scream for Wednesday. WAWAW

Well that's it. Yet again in an attempt to keep us sweet we were promised a handful of good signings that would improve the team including a striker who knows where the back of the net is and with a proven record. We were told all this before the start of last season too and will no doubt be told it yet again before the start of next season. A word of advice Milan, all these false promises will only see any support for you dwindle. I'm sure like me other supporters would rather you come out and be honest and admit that as some people now suspect the job is simply too big for you and you've now guided us as far as you can or you've now simply decided that you've had enough and want out. Either way the only thing suffering now is the club both on the pitch with regards to the standard of football and the fans with regards to results.
