Sitting 3rd in lge with two-thirds of season gone !
Reduced the wage bill !
Spent less than £1/2million on team !
Had to use 11 loan signings to get where we are when all those around us have made big money signings !
Maintaining our form to the end of season guarantees play-offs at very least.
The Megson family have served the Owls with distinction for over 50yrs and Gary Megson is a proud Owl with a Managerial record that stands comparison with ANYBODY that is likely to be canvassed for the job !
These are just a few reasons why Gary Megson shouldn't have to suffer the speculation of the last 48hrs .
MM should publicly back Megson NOW - at least until the end of the season - or hang his head in shame if he is even thinking about replacing him at this time.
Couldn't agree with you more! Well said that man!
Spot on the club was going out of business 12 months ago
It's also completely disgraceful that Radio Sheffield have continued to stir speculation about Gary Megson's future since Sunday's game. Mind you, that's to be expected with two dyed in the wool Unitedites heading the sports team. Sour grapes, anyone?
MM has put a massive amount of money into the club. As the business end of the season gets closer, a great manager can get his team to consistently win. Before blunting the Blades, the Owls were on the slide. GM's job is geared to him getting the vital results - a lot of other good teams too close for comfort
Even Sir Alex & AVB don't win every game with the squads they've got !!
With the squad we've got Megsons record could not be bettered by anyone - despite what the armchair experts say !!
As for MM's investment, so far that's almost totally been in the business and NOT on the field.
His investment in the team has been NEGLIGIBLE for a man of his means (less than £1million & Megsons had less than half of that ) , so he shouldn't be judging the Megson too harshly when we're near top of league?
The other good teams are investing in the team as well !! That helps a manager a lot don't you think ?
We are all riding on a high at the moment after beating the pigs, but lets just see how we get on in the next few games before we sing too many praises.
hopefully sundays result was the confidence booster that we needed to continue pushing for promotion.
megson is doing well and has brought in some good players this season, but we are still short of being championship material.
