He did not make the most of his talent which was exceptional and enjoyed off field too much. let's hope he does not encourage youngsters to follow his example. However in poacher turned gamekeeper role he could be useful.

If one of our youngsters turned out to be half the player that Hirsty was we would have a hell of a player on our hands. To say he did not make the most of his talent is inaccurate, over 100 goals and England caps would suggest otherwise. Yes he liked a drink but it was not his fault he was plagued by injuries. David Hirst is a SWFC legend. FACT!

He was an exceptional player but I do feel he could have achieved more. Fully accept that Steve Boulds tackle was responsible to some degree but when you consider how some of the very top players conduct themselves I do believe he could and should have done better. Also accept he is one of the few players who deserves icon status at Hillsbrough. I put him on a par with Waddle and DiCanio for absolute talent

It was tipped in the sun the other day that Kevin Davies was joining us in the summer. I posted that he was talkin to Toronto. just bin on sky that he's turned Toronto down!

It seems jones is looking for that type of forward not only to play but also bring madine on so Davies fits the bill

No he isn't looking for this type for next season. This season he needed experience to keep us up.

Jones went for Howard because of state of pitches. Impossible to play passing game so have to resort to long ball game. Not his style in log term but actually shows thought from maagement team and has got us results. He was talking to Bolton we ended up with Holden.

Jones went for Howard because of state of pitches?. He got rid of COG and he seems to be doing OK on same pitches! In fact a lot better than Howard.
Madine & Maguire looked biggest threats for me, but don't get picked?
