I've told you so many times. We won't be signing anyone during the window. We've got no money simple as that and when the window closes and DJ and MM are saying things like "we tried for at least a dozen players but they chose other clubs" we will all no the real reason why.... No cash so no offers were ever really made.

Believable1 Unbelievable7

Thanks for the insight, it has been extremely appreciated.

Agree4 Disagree0

Your a cheerful old bark

Last seasons mid season transfer widow is where Megson and Mandaric fell out irretrievably. Megson did not get what he wanted in terms of finance. We will sign a couple of players but get feeling we will be scraping barrel.

I'm wondering how much of the budget has been wasted on bothroyd

Believable1 Unbelievable4

The cost of printing the name on the shirt was to much money wasted.

Agree6 Disagree2

Seems finally the penny is dropping to all the Dave Jones Fan Club

Poor signings who have not delivered, poor tactics and formations that needed Stuart Gray to sort out, arrogance towards the fans and now it looks like Milan is not supporting him in the transfer market

Its going to be a hard slog till the end of the season, no new signings to shout about, yes we know the transfer deadline has not closed yet but DJ will bring in has beens and never beens and Bothroyd was the cream of the crop closely followed by Donkey Taylor and Knackered Donkey Sidibe

Agree3 Disagree4

Penny hasn't dropped for you GM fan club members yet who don't realise that our club does not have the resources yet.
We was lucky to get promoted last year and you guys are expecting way too much.
Get a grip and learn about the game. Rome was not built in a day.

Agree8 Disagree1

Think you should have a bit more respect for Megson . Whatever you think it was him who turned the club around and started the recovery . He brought the players in that put us in a position to get promotion even if DJ did come in and finish the job off.
Without Megsons skill in the market with no money we wouldn't be where we are now so have some respect for a true blue blood Owl and what he's done for the club throughout his life .

Agree6 Disagree3

The comment has nothing to do with a lack of respect for GM. No idea why you even posted that comment.
Do you?

Agree2 Disagree1

If MM wanted to he is allowed to put £3m of his own money in this year, £2m next year, and £1m the year after. After that the books have to balance. That's why the clubs/chairmen that can afford to are investing now. If our team is struggling in Champs now we are going to fall further behind the ambitious clubs in this division with less chance of catching them up.
It was DJ himself, who said in his interview 2-3weeks ago that "speculate to accumulate doesn't seem to apply any more" he was obviously sending a message to the fans without pointing the finger directly. Some fans understood the coded message, others only hear and see what they want to.
So the club does have the resources, at least the chairman does, it's whether and how they are used that makes the difference.
Incidentally Meggy could give DJ lessons on how to work the transfer market, he put that team together last year with next nothing.

Agree5 Disagree2

Not as much as you think on Boothroyd we paid only fraction of wages as long as we played him in all games.

Agree2 Disagree0

You did very well to spot the code mate.

Agree4 Disagree1

Megson did stop the rot and sorted defence out, but we were struggling in his last couple of months in charge. He had fell out with owner ad things were very difficult this reflected in results. You just have to realise he has gone for good and will not come back and not live in the past. This stance is reminiscent of Wednesdayite stance when they thought a club could be owned by fans and function at a high league level. I was a Megson fan sorry he went but you have to accept this. Be nice for fans to own club but would never be succesful and destined for non league. Things move on and you have to adapt. DJ is a realist and a far more decet bloke than is given credit for on these pages. He is working with limited funds and takes all the flak for the problems.

Agree2 Disagree0

The infastructure DJ inherited at the club was very poor not MM fault not GM fault the previous boards of the last decade had no policies for the long term.DJ has now put together a good development squad and when the financial fair play rules kick in, that when the policy of this management will reap benefits a lot of potential has been bought and are already on long contracts, we are playing catch up in this area and DJ is doing a good job money is tight but we are signing players for future.

Id like to see nick powell on loan. scored goals for fun at crewe and very highly rated at manchester united. fast, powerful and no afraid to shoot.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Ferguson senior wouldn't lend a player to ferguson juniors main rivals

how do we not have finances, if we sold beevers and loaned out lines and jones went for free, if we didn't sign players like maguire and pecnik and other players like taylor etc sure we would have funds to use this jan for players that could help us survive, am I daft or is this every owls fans basic general knowledge unless your dave jones? owls about this? xxxx

Believable4 Unbelievable2

I agree with this, its making no sense! uto

Agree1 Disagree0

Don't think it's all djs fault with finances Milan holds the purse strings and if we had a better budget at start of season we would have bought better than Maguire pechnic Taylor but I agree there should be some wages available after bothroyd jones lines have all left

Agree3 Disagree1

Yes you are daft.

Agree3 Disagree2

Who says we have not got finance the only thing that has been said that they must spend wisely.Broadcast you have money and the vultures start hovering and prices and wages rise

Agree3 Disagree1

I know mm says how much we have to spend but surely dj says HOW we spend it. You have lay some of it at dj's door. He has signed players that he has no intention of playing.

Agree2 Disagree1

Who's daft do you think dj got all his original targets your budget dictates the quality of player you can sign as we are now seeing in this window

Agree1 Disagree0

Hopefully they're going to sign someone for about 2 million maybe.
