Whilst the attack on Kirkland was awful does anybody on here or any other fans site think this is the first time a player or players have been attacked by football fans?! In the JP trophy semi final between LUFC and Carlisle, Carlisle's fans invaded the pitch and numerous players were punched by their fans. Again not for a second condoning whet happened on friday night but some leeds fans feel there is a disproportionate response both from media and footballing authorities when it comes to leeds. My personal view is that we as LU and SW fans can do our bit and make sure the return leg at ER is a peaceful one.
Best wishes to you all.

I just can't see that happening, can you?

I think it will be a peaceful return leg at Elland Road. Let's face it, there appears to be a problem with South Yorkshire Police and Hilsbrough in planning major events. Why on earth would it be agreed for a game to take place on a Friday night, the fool who assaulted Kirkland had been drinking since 10am. If the game had been a lunch time kick off this would have reduced the alcohol consumption (on both sides). Also Leeds were not allowed to bring there own stewards, as per normal practice, thus reducing the recognition of those banned, again as in the case of the person who assaulted the keeper. Was it just me who wondered why with 10mins to go to full time and with the obvious vile chants going on between both sets of fans, was a loose link line of stewards and police not rolled out in front of the away end? How many failures must this ground have. At Elland Road, Policing and stewarding will not allow such gaps.

Would have been a small crowd if it had kicked off at midday on Friday. What fools those pesky planners are.

another leeds fan here lads. just want to aplogise on behalf of all leeds fans for that absolute people actions the other night. unfortunately we still have a very small minority of fans who are complete thugs. hopefully wont be to long before all of them (not just from leeds) are completely banned from football.

on another note thought you lads played a blinder and based on the perfomance i saw should be pushing for the playoffs.

another very embarassed leeds fan.
