I remember in the early days, before we were skint, if we wanted a player like ALF we would have just gone out and bought him. Now because we've got over our problems and we're not skint anymore, we can't afford him Isn't finance confusing ?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Not really, thats the reason that we were skint, its not rocket science

17,000 at today's game Why on earth have a 39,000 seater ground, when you lot of lazy moaning Tw*ts can't be ar*ed in attending. You lot are constantly moaning about the club not investing in players, however, you need to create revenue first, and the best way to do that is by having big crowds. Staying away will only hamper the buying of players. Stop been negative, and be more pro-active.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Agreed. What puzzles me is the aim of those who boo. Do they think that deriding the players will provide the confidence necessary for an improved performance ? Or are they just plain thick ?

It's not alot in football terms but Rotherham are not going to let him go for that I think if Wednesday put 1 mil on table it would get knocked back reason being Rotherham are proberbly willing to gamble on keeping alf this season and letting him go on a free because if he can help them gain promotion it's worth alot more than 500,000 only chance we have of getting him is at end of this season but if we gain promotion i think we will be looking for better standard of players if this is the a case it's a shame I think he would have done well for us and if only we could have had the money to signed Luke varney he would have been a top striker in this league and he was willing to sign

Agree3 Disagree2

Just put the money down and sign him up He's a goal machine

Fellow wednesdayites all the negative comments on here are purely based on assumptions and rember assumptions are the mother of all f ups I find it amazing how many people are slating milan and gm so early on in the season it jus shows that we have a lot of very fickle supporters who wud still find faults if we went out and paid 500k for alf and we're we're top of the league at xmas you guys need to get a grip and stop wasted your time writing detailed comments about mm intentions when you quite clearly don't have a clue

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Completely agree. the negativity will become self-fulfilling. The critics have got zero understanding of the financial realities within which MM is operating and utterly unrealistic expectations. Get a grip

Agree2 Disagree2

Top of the league at xmas just like last year...

There isn't a word of criticism in my post if you take the time to read it properly . I am not critical of MM, I am merely offering an explanation for the course of action he is taking in an effort to STOP CRITICISM. You CAN"T CRITCISE the manager for results if there are no funds available for the quality signings we need. The players who make the difference between COMPETING & BEATING. The fans can't keep bleating on about MELLOR & ALF if the funds are not going to be available to sign them. My ONLY observation, not criticism, is that MM said that he WOULD INVEST in the team and he clearly hasn't . Hence my offer of a LOGICAL explanation for his change of mind ?? I can't think of another , that's why I ask ?

Megson's recent failed attempts have forced him to reconsider unimpressive trialist Maskereh Tsiemdambinda from Eritrean club C.H. Star. Maskereh was poor in closed door friendlies but the club's lack of sucess in the transfer market has drawn desparation from Megson.

Megson would never back down and stop trying to improve the club he knows that we need a striker so desperately. As he is a Wednesdayite he will do all within his power to sign the right players before the deadline in just over a week or so
