I see Owen Coyle was given the bullet tonight too, wonder if his odds will shorten now to take over from DJ. I get a sneaky feeling that the new man is already all but in place though so it doesn't really make much difference that Coyle is now back on the market.

He has passion, we don't doubt that but does he have the ability?
I think whoever comes in gets a contract untill end of season, just enough to prove they have what it takes. no 3 year deal and we get relegated, because we can't keep paying of the no hopers who just bleed football dry.
Maybe get Lee Bullen in until April, see how it goes?

So MM has finally sacked DJ. I was one of those who called for him to not be sacked at the start of the season, I don't like to see managers sacked without having a chance to prove themselves but DJ used up all his chances and it was time for him to go. I'm guessing the announcement of his successor will happen fairly quickly, I can't see MM waiting around now and the new manager will have the whole transfer window to make some changes and I think the purse strings will be relaxed a bit too.

Thank god he's gone. 12 months too late but let's see a manager with some fresh ideas and one who can get the players playing with pride and belief. Hollaway would be my choice. please milan not pearce

I'm a dave jones supporter and don't panic you'll all have some one new to slate really soon. Clubs gone back 10 years again and round and round we go. 12 managers in 10 years or some thing close. You all must be so proud. To actually come on and gloat that the managers gone is very sad my friend. Clueless and now I'm off to support Sheffield club as this clubs surrounded by pathetic individuals. All the best

6pts adrift already I fear after our next 3 games that will have increased. I'm a loyal Wednesday fan but we could be in serious trouble come Christmas. DJ has lost the dressing room there is no passion or fight. It's time to go. MM do the right thing by all Wednesday fans and get rid off DJ now before we're relegated

Jones came out with being as he said he was a team builder macabe never plays Antonio and Helen both gone backwards Maguire we chased after him and jones won't play him, if dj is such a good manager why did Cardiff wolves and Southampton sack him. boycott game Milan is killing us off.

To be fair a number of posters have changed their views on dj over recent weeks, myself included. Was never a big dj fan but didn't think hr was doing as bad as some would have you believe given limited funds. But it looks clear that team aren't playing fir him and as much as i'd like to sack players this can't happen so dj has to go. NB
