Poll: should Antonio stay or go? I for 1 think he's extremely over rated he hasn't got a first touch and can't even cross, utterly poor IMO but my mate thinks he's god. What's the rest of you think?
When he signed he was one of our better players, that doesn't make him over rated tho.
In any case if you going in right direction your best player now won't be best player next season, and season after he might be one of your worst!
That's the aim surely?
I think when we had him on loan he wasn't over rated no but that was a division lower and fast n strong can make you look good in the lower leagues but when we signed him we were in the championship and I think he his over rated for this league especially because of the price we paid. I'd just like to see his wages going somewhere better
Antonio has potential and may improve vastly with better players around him.
Im not sure he will to be fair pal
Firstly I reckon this post was started by my mate and that I'm the one who thinks Antonio is God.
I do think Antonio is a good player and has potential but hasn't hit the form we all expected due to injury. Let's see if Gray can get the best out of him like he has others and we could have a real gem in Antonio
He's not got it in his locker to get better and yes he was injured for a big chunk of the season but when he did play he could still have a touch he's utterly rhubarb who we should have just said thanx for coming on loan bye and if y'all think different then your as dillusional as my mate
So your saying he's more of a welbeck than a sterling?
No I'm saying is cack who we shouldn't have paid good money for or even giving a wage to
I'm not sure I get the welbeck/ sterling link
If you look at opta stats you will see Antonio makes a real contribution to team, as most effective player going forward. Last season he was troubled by injury which does not help anyone. his pace and strength provides a good outlet for team.
Find this tedious thread in we are short of players and need to acquire them not get rid of them.
Ye but you can argue anything with stats lol, I know we need players and that's the point I'm getting at the fee we paid and wages we giving him would be better placed on someone else
Anti Antonio - even if you are right and the money could be better spent, Antonio is under conract!
So you have to find someone to offer him an even better contract that he is going to accept.
If he's as bad as you say who is going to do that?
I don't agree with you btw I think Antonio will develop in to a useful player if he stays fit this season.
I'd just tell him he wasn't playing and leave him in development squad he'd want to leave then and as far as he'll develope he's 24 if he hasn't learnt the fundamentals as a winger by now he'll never grasp it, I'm still right tho. WAWAW
Whatever your views on him he is under contract and no-ones breaking down the door to sign him so give him another year (hopefully injury free) and see what happens.
