I'm pretty sure the takeover will go through and almost certain a few more players will be arriving at Hillsbrough before the season gets underway. Quite probably we'll be seeing a few names added to the team sheets over the next few friendlies (much better to see what they can do before jumping the gun and ending up with another load of future dead wood as in previous administrations). As for Wickham, the likelihood of him being shipped out on loan is quite probable if he fails to sign a new contract. Knowing what we got out of him last time round could well make us favourites to get him back on loan again, as Sunderland will be hoping to show the best of him as they exhibit him in a decent shop window (outside the Prem where results could percievably affect them) hoping for a good deal. UTO!

Surely the Football League should give there answer soon,as Doncaster's takeover bid was around the same time or am I missing something out? If Massimo Cellino can take over Leeds then Hafiz Mammadov shouldn't have a problem.

Looking at explanation as why John ryan was rejected, it was becausethey had not given enough details of their future income. Apparently this is being applied to L1 teams going forwardand has been used by Championship teams for last 4. I can see why this takes time if you are a businessman with money in different continents. It would seem daft if a person has just stumped up £40 million to ask what type of income do you receive on a regular basis, Think some common sense needs to be applied, if a person wants to walkaway from an investment they can this type of test proves nothing just acts as a barrier. More I read about FA and FL the more I realise they have no idea on what they are doing. To ask for a business plan is understandable but again difficult to hve detailed one before you know ins nd outs of club.
I also feel that Milan is sticking his neck on the line saying takeover will be complete, he could lose he credibility to the fans if this falls through.
Cellino deal was going on for a long time before it was announced. As other posts have said, MM and HM had there hand forced over announcing the takeover as the press got wind of it and they made an offical announcement rather than letting the press leak it. All the signs like the new sponsorship, new signings (all be it frees for now) and current players signing new deals point towards the takeover going through but that they are just finalising all the paperwork and confirming everything is correct. Another thought i've just had is that annoyingly Cellino might have had an effect on the takeover as the FL might be going through things a little more carefully to make sure they don't let another crook like him in.
SWFC13 you have made a very intresting point about Cellino and the FL. With all that has been said by Milan about selling the club to the right man, if this takeover goes south, then surely he going to feel like a right plonker.
I don't think there will be any problem with the takeover I think Mammadov has the funds and can prove that just that the FL has been stung by the Cellino affair and they are being extra careful with takeovers at the moment. As I mentioned in another post the bureaucracy involved in this takeover is not helping the speed with which it can be completed. I have complete faith that the takeover will be finalised soon (and by soon I mean within the month not next couple of days), there have been enough positive signs to say everything is heading in the right direction.

how long did it take doncaster to get a decision from the football league because it seems a lot less than we've been waiting, or is that just because I'm a owl!
Donny announced the takeover same time as us.
So in theory we should hear anytime now?! maybe mm and hm aren't saying anthing to prevent fans saying, its an hour over this time and not done why why why. ?? safest approach imo! uto xxx
Means nothing either way really.
For example - just suppose the FL have to check "20 things" before they can say "YES", if Donny have failed on item "5" after a month they get a "NO" and they're out, but we still have another 15 things to check which might take a day, a week, or a month.
Just wish everybody would relax and wait while the FL give their verdict, because there's nothing more MM or Mamma can do its out of their hands.
Well said hOWLer, no two takeovers are the same. There have been enough positive signs in the last couple of weeks to say that it will happen. I guess HM would have liked to have had the takeover concluded by now so he could invest in the squad but it hasn't so we will have to be patient like him.

I hope this takeover gets sorted out this or next week so we can get some good players, he wants us in premier, the players we've been linked with aren't good enough, a 34 year old Brazilian and a French player from istres, need better.
