Use our rumours form to send us sheffield wednesday transfer rumours.

The Chairman has released a statement this afternoon, obviously in response to the strong feelings expressed by many fans to the price increases.
I think if you read it with an open mind he is very sympathetic to our feelings, but equally makes the point well that the fans have to play their part in funding the improvements to our club.
Thats what FFP is designed to do, it prevents a billionaire such as DC simply throwing money at it and buying his way in to the Prem. and success.
Put simply, FFP dictates that if he is spending we have to be spending also to keep the clubs income up.
So if you've been screaming for him to spend his money on the team, top strikers, no loans etc, as most of us have, we can't really moan if we are asked for a bigger contribution on match days.

I wish those who "disagree" would have the courage to at least say what it is they disagree with?
There are regular posters and some others who feel strongly enough, and take the time to express their views.
Its obvious there are others who's only contribution is to press the disagree button without saying why.
Its hard to have a "banter site" without alternative views - you can't disagree with that?
I'm fine with that, get it posted. But just to disagree ( and I'm sure there are the odd ones that do it over and over again to the same post- not just once!)without saying why is just pointless and childish IMO. If you disagree tell me why!
I'm running a book on how many "disagrees" this gets!

Agree6 Disagree6

{Ed001's Note - surely it doesn't matter? Some people just want to disagree or agree without typing anything. When we didn't have the buttons, all we got is posts saying 'I agree' or 'I disagree' by the bucketload, which stopped threads being entertaining to read.}

17 Jul 2015 21:05:24
Hi Ed001:- Of course it doesn't matter if people disagree , as I say above "get it posted" and let's get the "Banter" going!
I just wish sometimes - for example when its a statement of fact , and not even an opinion! - people would express what it is they disagree with?
You can't disagree with a fact can you?
Thats all I'm suggesting. Thanks for explaining why you disagree Ed001(lol!)

Agree3 Disagree2

{Ed001's Note - I understand and agree if they have something to say it would be better, but most of the people disagreeing do so because they have nothing to add. I know a few people will hit buttons when they are just looking quick in work and don't want to get caught out typing up something, but still want to read through.}

17 Jul 2015 21:25:53
Ed001:- I take your point Ed, I admit I hadn't considered that possibility.
Lets hope this little discussion of ours encourages a few more to post their views instead of just pushing buttons though - just don't get caught and dragged into the boss's office eh?

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed003's Note - Ed 001's off for now but yes lets hope so.}

17 Jul 2015 21:57:03
I think the people who disagree hOWLer havnt got a big enough argument to back it up.

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed003's Note - Not necessarily.}

17 Jul 2015 22:01:19
But it would be nice to hear people's opinions as to why they disagree

After chansiri statement I'm now a lot happier. If reading is a grade E which I consider a top match then looks like a fair few more will be woooo I can afford to go. Makes sense we spend he spends only fair I suppose we aren't a charity after all. UTO!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - What about how away fans think about the prices ? }

17 Jul 2015 22:43:23
Thanks Norwich, and I obviously agree with you.
I'm sure the site would benefit anyway from more, and more varied, points of view.
Both in the quality of the discussions and , I would assume, revenue from the number of "hits" it gets , assuming that's how its funded.

everything's a bit whimsy aren't they. I suppose if reading is cat e, then at least half the games will be cat e or lower?

18 Jul 2015 03:35:12
or perhaps the categories are purely a business tactic, & have nothing to do with the quality of games at all

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jul 2015 06:49:57
Just watch he'll change games category's depending on how many came previous week lol if we have bad attendance all of a sudden the game is a category E lol and vice versa. Only joking. But ED forget the away fans we don't want them coming to support their team no encouragement for them lol. UTO!

lol lomas613. If we play the attractive attacking football we have been promised and our winning week in week out and look destined for promotion then I'm happy paying my share towards this glory we all want.

I can see why some people are moaning about ticket prices but just think you all wanted miney pumpt into the team which is happening you all wanted a team that could push for promotion. could happen. you all wanted a better pitch and improvements to hillsbrough its happening. chansiri is a bussnes man. would you all be moaning if we get promoted and then you have to pay premire league priceses. I think not

Unfortunately that's just the way it works. Chansiri is a business man and just like any business man you have to make profit and when you dump a lot of money into something there has to be a return and the biggest place to get the money from is the ticket sales so your exactly right everyone has been screaming for higher quality players and big money signings and we've gotten some, well this is what comes from those. let's just hope they can play well together and get the results were hoping for.

Ye your right money needs to come back for what he's spent but half of players we have signed are loaned in so no fee there we've had 1 player rumoured to be 2.2 and rest just normal signing prices 300k or free so in total other than buying the club he's probably spent (I'll be generous) 3.5 mil max on transfer fees wages yes unknown so looking at that along with 1.5mil for pitch and screen where is the justification in tickets almost doubling in price. Like I say I'll be happy with ticket price if we sign a striker on a perminant basis that's the money what will justify it for me.

Agree0 Disagree6

{Ed001's Note - what about loan fees? Were there any loan fees? I haven't looked into it so not sure, but they can be significant amounts, especially if the wages are being paid as well.}

17 Jul 2015 12:50:59
Also bare in mind we released 11 players and we've not signed that many yet so that will balance out the books abit.
