Ive just read the Star interview.
When your manager starts slagging off the fans its time for him to go I'm afraid.
No way back for him now in my book. Even if we start winning I'll never forget what he said .
What an a***hole !

I read that article, and for umpteenth time he said - - we've got to stop making mistakes, when you make mistakes in this division you get punished - - and the thought occurred to me , when does HE get his come-uppance for all HIS mistakes ?

Apparently Jones on Radio Sheffield last night (I didn't hear the interview it was from a comment made on Radio Sheffield tonight) said that Bothroyd had a word with him after a couple of games and said he was playing with his back to goal which didn't suit his style of play so he asked Jones if he could play on the wing and Jones agreed. So Jones changes the style of play because Bothroyd doesn't like the style of play. Obviously after the Jones interview in the Star and his comments on Radio Sheffield he believes Bothroyd is bigger and better than the club. Great man management from a manager that I thought would do you a great job.

I agree with a lot of the comments on here, DJ is failing, he is now doing a damage limitation speech after each poor performance
We all individually have our own opinions as to who should play and what formations we deploy but unfortunately it's MM's train set and he calls the shots, yes we are in a much better position than before he came but he has put the money in and he alone will decide who the Manager is

Whatever happens long term Sheffield Wednesday fans will be the one constant thing in the club's life and without them the club would die, MM is first and foremost a business man, here to make a profit and then sell us on to the best financial deal he can broker
He does not feel the pain we are suffering as our club struggles and although I am very grateful to him he is only involved financially and does not live and breathe Wednesday as we do
DJ seems lost and does not know what to do next, the players he has brought in and not played must be thinking he has lost the plot and all of us are beginning to see cracks appearing, if MM does dispense of his services he will walk away with a huge golden handshake.......again

We will still be here long after both MM and DJ have gone so let's make the best of the situation until the bad vibes leave and we are up where we belong

Come on Wednesday

Just picking up on the DJ interview in todays Star.
I would just like to ask all the DJ supporters how they feel about DJ as much as saying that Bothroyd is the only quality player we've got and the fans just don't see it ? What about the signings he has made himself , are they not quality then ?
I wonder how the rest of the players in the squad will feel when they read it too ? What a morale booster that will be as we start our struggle to get away from bottom of table. I assume they will be under instructions to leave it all to JB , if not, thats probably how they feel !!
When DJ took over I thought we had our man for the future , but with what has happened this season with signings and team selections, and when I read things like this , I just dont see where he has had success in the past - its amateurish and disrespectful to treat people like he has. And now in this interview hes more or less putting the fingers up to the fans as well.
What do you think ?

Not only can he not man-manage his players, he can't even keep the country's most passionate fans on side. The man is a shocker !

Tomorrows match will be the decider for DJ.
Hope we lose.

Thats a fickle thing to say no matter wat we play to win uto xxxxx

True but things wont improve with Jones in charge and the more we lose the quicker hes gone.
Sooner the better for me .
But what do I know , nowt same as rest of us thats what DJ thinks.

Bring Lee Bawyer in on a free. We need a real battler in midfield who can chip in with the odd goal. How about SWP on loan for the rest of the season to replace JJ? As for replacing the manager, Roland Nillson is doing a good job and so is Carbone who I'm sure would jump at the chance to come home.

Read an article in the Star and DJ has all but said that the 25k fans who don't think Bothroyd is worth his place are wrong. According to him Bothroyd is the only quality player in the team, he says he hasn't cost us any goals and has created all the goal scoring chances. Is this the same player who is constantly caught in position and gives the ball away? He has hinted that he is dropping Lleira in favour of Taylor. Sounds like he is a man who has boxed himself into a very tight corner and doesn't know how to get out of it. Think it is time for MM to put him out of his misery.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Quite right, just as you say, hes determined to persist with what isnt working just to prove that we're all wrong n he's right.
I cant see how anything can change unless you change it ? So that means the odd win here and there to paper over the cracks of the shambles hes created since the start of this season.
But that wont be enough to get us to safety, we need to play the players who are in form, drop those that aren't doing it, and buy or loan 1-2 experienced midfield players to take the pressure of the youngsters. I am sure that would work and all that is needed but it strikes me Mr DJ is too stubborn to admit it.

Agree5 Disagree0

I have always been one of the posters on here who has stuck up for dj but after reading this article in the star my opinion has drastically changed i could not disagree more about his bothcrap comments, compare bothcraps goals, goal scoring oppurtunities and assisst that he has created with that of jj's at the start of the season and i think you will find jj is far superior ... so what if he cant switch play and take a few quality touches every now and again .. you only win games by scoring goals !! and when jj plays week in week out thats what you get or at least he creates an oppurtunity for somebody else as apposed to a fancy bothcrap step ever and simple pass inside which completely slows down any attacking football

Agree5 Disagree0

There's a saying that everybody in the army is out of step but me, well that applies to Mr Jones. Every manager we have had have always complimented the fans on their knowledge of the game. But Mr Jones says in the Star's article that 25,000 fans are wrong about Bothroyd, he also says he hasn't cost us a goal, oh yes he has, for instance against Blackpool it was he who gave the ball away with a poor pass from which they scored their first goal. Against Middlesbrough Bothroyd watched Hoyte run right passed him and never tried to track him, he just let him run on and score. If Mr Jones is trying to justify playing Bothroyd he has to get a more convincing argument and stop telling the best fans in the country they are fools.

If Wednesday are to get rid of mr jones like many people are hoping who would you want as a replacement my personal choice would be Roland Nilsson
