wearing blue and white, he plays on the rightttt, michail antonio makes barnsley look rubbishe

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Very good. :)

Agree1 Disagree0

^^Dave Jones would take issue with that and either not select him or play him at Left Back.

Honestly, with DJ's recent selections I wouldn't be surprised.

Agree0 Disagree1

Thanks, hopefully everyone can work out the last word haha

Im afraid league 1 beckons if we fail to beat the dingles on saturday Im bemused by what has happened to us this season DJ and MM are turning us into a laughing stock 4 defeats in a row 5 defeats in a row 6 defeats in a row etc The man to blame is MANDARIC he chose to sack megson he chose to appoint jones he chose not to back megson (marshall transfer which you must all agree our form slipped when he went )
Now he decides to stick with jones i remember his press conference when jones was appointed "no wins in 10 games guys" well MM 6 defeats in a row now No hope this season whatsoever.
Turning point was not stumping up the cash to sign marshall hence poor form hence appointment of magic dj

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Megson had an early agreement with Pulis to sign Ben for £500k but MM wouldn't stump up. Leic signed him for £750k and he's probably increased his value to nearly double that already ?
Nobody seems to make a big thing or even notice that MM is not spending on the team.
His biggest spend so far is probably Bothcraps wages ....... Bargain or what !!

Dave Jones's latest blooper is a beauty.... He said on Radio Sheffield after Saturday's game, "I don't care if we lose the next 10 or 12 games to be honest". Can you imagine the outcry from fans of other clubs had there manager come out with a statement like that? Imagine what any other chairman or owner would think if the manager that they employed to bring success to there club came out with a statement like that? Dave Jones needs to be sacked a.s.a.p before he damages this club beyond repaire.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Did he really say that ?? well I'm amazed if he did

Agree0 Disagree0

That must be "irony" - I don't think any of us are amazed by anything Jones says anymore !

Agree0 Disagree0

An example of excellent journalism skills demonstrated in this original post. Taken well out of context.

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree it was taken out of context, but, never the less he did say it. You would think he would choose his words more carefully with so many people on his case, unless he really couldn't give a toss.

How many tickets we sold for jokewell?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Despite the current farce with DJ as patient zero in the spreading of rot at Hillsborough we'll still end up wi' more than the dingles.

Shame that DJ's selection and tactics will contrive another loss.

Agree0 Disagree0

4536 tickets sold for dingles as of 13 dec be just under 5000 their ticket office sales

I feel like the club are currently taking the pi** out of us the loyal supporters of swfc who turn up in droves to every game

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I feel for you because the club is taking its loyal fans for granted I for one won't be paying my hard earned again till jones is out

I think that one of the problems that no one has mentioned is that despite us having been promoted this year a lot of clubs in this league still see us as a big club and one of the teams that they try really hard against to beat them. The other thing we haven't got at the club is a player like Lee Bullen, someone who has played at the club for a while and can give new players a feel of the history of the club and the fans expectations (and yes I know Lee is there in a coaching role but its not the same as having a player who is on the pitch with the other players). We have got a lot of new players this year some of which on short term loans and apart from Semedo and Weaver we haven't got any players who have been there a while who can take the new players under there wing and do the same job.
Finally having two new players to the club as captain and vice captain seems a very strange decision. You need some continuity in the role so at the very least keeping Semedo as vice captain would have been a better idea. But DJ has made a lot of strange choices this year and this is only one of them. Hopefully something changes soon, either a new manager or a change in fortunes/ideas from the current one (I know which I would choose)

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Why would DJs choice of Capt & Vice Capt puzzle you ........ he hasn't made a decision that makes ANY sense since he came here !!
But we the fans just dont understand , you know that !

Agree1 Disagree0

No disrespect to Lee Bullen but we need better players than he was to get us out of this mess !
Mind you if these players had some of Lee's spirit and effort we wouldn't be in this mess !

I think MM will sell the club very , very soon, perhaps even before January.
Nothing else makes any sense.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Not in a million years unless he is going to take a finical hit on it. He is a businessman and he wants to make a profit, not much of a profit in a struggling Championship side doomed to relegation, if he was planning to sell he would have got rid of Jones weeks ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely MM would get a better deal for the club if we were in a better position

Agree0 Disagree0

Really? Considering our current position I doubt it very much.
That would be like Stenaline buying a sinking ship.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think youre missing the point ?
If he would want the club in highest position possible when he sells - - why would he let things slide so badly to the point that there is a VERY good chance we could be back in Lge1 next year ?
What if a deal was struck 2-3 months ago and since then all the legal stuff has been happening in the background with a view to a takeover at the end of 2012 ?
That would explain MMs apparent lack of interest in our decline and his reluctance to speculate to arrest the slide ....... wouldn't it ?

Agree0 Disagree0

That's a lot of if, buts and maybes. I very much doubt that MM is happy about the current situation and he would no doubt want the club in a higher position to either progress or sell.
Yes we are struggling but clutching at straws with such doom and gloom rumours really isn't me missing the point.
But hey, if at the end of 2012 it happens as you predict I will be happy to apologise. Will you be willing to admit you where wrong?

Agree1 Disagree0

1 if , no buts , no maybes (lol)
Of course I would admit I was wrong .
But I'm not "dissing" anybody (to use the modern parlance)
I'm using my business knowledge and experience to try to find a LOGICAL explanation for the handling of our predicament.
However the normal business practices dont always apply in the world of football I know.
If MM was in it for the long term , he could sit out the storm and build again from next year. Two years wasted but if times not an issue no matter .
But he has never had his football clubs for the long term, and I would expect that to be the case , but even moreso , with SWFC because of his "maturity"?
I would have expected there to have been , at the very outside, a 5yr plan? But that plan wouldn't have included being in Lge1 next year ! So .......?

Agree1 Disagree1

↗Just a further point , why do some fans see MM selling the club as " doom and gloom" ?
Its been inevitable since the day he THANKFULLY bought the club!
He was never in it for the long ride it was always a short-term investment for him !
When he does sell he will probably hold a press conference where he will give the fans a whole load of reasons why it will be better for the club and the fans under the new owners , and most if not all of those reasons will be true !
So life after MM will go on, hopefully with a long term plan for success

Agree0 Disagree0

Ifs, buts and maybes was a metaphorical term. As was doom and gloom.
Lets still wait and see, as you seem to be pushing the point that MM is selling, due to you management experience.

Agree0 Disagree0

Zero dissings (lol)

Agree0 Disagree0

If he was willing to just sit it out he wouldn't have for rid of MG.
You said yourself business practices don't apply to football, so why are you adamant that your business knowledge applies to your statement?
Is it simply a guess?

Agree0 Disagree0

So we are agreed MM is probably thinking short term .
This years performance / results will have certainly put a brake on "the plan" , so he has two choices .
Either extend the timescale to bring his plan back on schedule, or stick with the plan to get out soonest but sacrifice some of the anticipated profit that success would have brought. ie cash in early if a buyer can be found.
If you were going for the longer run you would probably invest to protect , if you were looking for an exit you would minimise your investment to secure a bigger return .
It's only logic but it fits ?

Agree1 Disagree0

Well you have just over two weeks for the club to be sold, to prove your point.
Which I honestly don't believe will happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

DJ aside, I'd personally like to see some stability at our club and MM, for me, would be part of that.
He made a mistake with MG in hindsight, but we all make them.

Agree0 Disagree0

^ But the return you'd get from a League1 club wouldn't be that good considering the overheads that a club of our size has to upkeep. So , no that supposition does not stack up for me.

Its a simple case of the replacement lined up for DJ will also have a tight contract to navigate a way out of in time for the January transfer window. hence the delay in giving Jones the full two barrels.

Dave Jones' shocking mismanagement on and off the pitch is hurting the clubs operational budget. MM has to consider transfer kitty against DJ's pay off. We'll do nowt in January thanks to Jones.

Let us all hope that our next manager is a huge step up in class from the journeyman that Jones is.

Agree3 Disagree0

Personally can't see it happening this year , but agree with rest of what this chap says.
MM obviously will cash in as soon as he can make a profit, that's what he bought us for not cos he's been an Owl all his life as some fans seem to think.
Also agree we be better off when he does sell cos MM has shown already he's only going to invest the minimum he has to in the club to make more profit when he sells us. Why would he pump money into us at 70odd yo?
But a new buyer would be in it for long haul. Hope you right but think DJ has wreckedMMs chance to sell soon like he wrecked everything else

Agree2 Disagree0

Well the use of big words doesn't convince me any more so.
Be careful what you wish for. We could end up with worse that MM, as we did with GM.

Agree1 Disagree1

Be careful what you wish for ?
I wished for GM to be here long enough to take us back to Prem which he would have done because hes done it before more than once.
I even wish GM would come back.
I wish we had a manager that was fit to manage our great club.
I wish that manager could have some decent players to strengthen the team to get some points to keep us in the Champs. instead of making do with OAP & crock loans.
I wish we could have a millionaire chairman like some of the other clubs, who come in and invest in the playing side of things.
But you cant have everything can you, so we'll have to make do with what we've got like you say !!
You're right , be careful what you wish for ?

Agree3 Disagree1

Great post ! and you put it in small words so he could understand it.
MM saved us from oblivion , AND WE ARE FOREVER GRATEFUL of course !
But that should be the start of a bigger future not the status quo !
I can't wait while we get a new chairman and everybody realises how MM has his own agenda, and its not the same as the fans !

Agree2 Disagree1

So you guys want a new chairman, a new manager and new players.
I hope you have been good little boys this year because that's one hell of a present list.
Should ask for a nice pillow also, so you can keep on dreaming.

Agree3 Disagree0

MM would not have given GM a bigger budget to "get us into the premiership", so considering you stated that DJ's replacement would still have the same tight budget, it's a bit of a contradiction really.
I think that you do have some valid points but changing MM isn't one.
