we would have to pay for Helan as he is only 20 even if out of contract compensation would be due to Man City

Our ventures into foreign market last year did not pay off. It is an area we need to improve upon, though trawling freign markets for freebies can not be easy.
Think Halen and Olifinjana will be two players we try to recruit during summer. We need a striker or two but not certain who it will be.
Due to lack of funds you can be certain loan market will be extensively used.

I am man enough to accept when I am wrong, I have slated dj off and he was right and he has proven me wrong, well done to dj and the wednesday.

It does take a man to acknowledge when he is wrong, so well done mate. Proud that your are a Massive.

I'll second that. Well done DJ.

Well done for what?

Let me make this clear. I'm not DJ's biggest fan. The good start was down to Burton IMO; the recent form has been down to Gray IMO; Jones lost the plot after the early Leeds game; he's played away from home (nothing to do with us really) and some say he only comes to Sheffield just before weekends for the game. If all this is true then he's not the manager for SWFC IMO.
On the other hand we've been doing well lately and look like surviving to go on and improve next season. Surely he deserves SOME credit for that?

Credit burton and gray then. because when either wasnt there we were a shambles. look we might survive but surely anyone can see jones isn't a good coach
Agree3

Burton and Grey are the coaches. DJ is the manager.

Never? was pointing out the fact that if our beloved dj doesn't have a recognized coach with him we seem to be garbage. come on surely we can all see that?

And so what?

Always rsted jones all thru his career, but my faith has bin tested this season. However altho our style is crap I can't complain about our recent results. if other teams results hadn, t matched ours we would av bin safe wks ago. Probably bin in contention for promotion. mik

why the hell would we get rid of llera?!

Who has suggested we should? He is out of contract at end of season.

we shouldn't release too many players because the team has finally settled with a good line up unlike at the start of the season we were playing untried players and the donkey bothroyd

I find the above comment strange in the least.
In last game we had Halen, Olifinjana, Lita, Pugh and Howard playing who are all on loan. This suggests we can not start with same team we finished with.
At same time we have numerous players who are on books and a long way off first team.
Therefore who would you suggest keeping and what is your possible first team?

These are the players I can see leaving at the end of the season:
Coke
Prutton
Pečnik
Weaver
Semedo
Bennett
Mayor
and possibly Maguire

I would like us to keep hold of Coke, Mayor and Maguire.
Although I would expect it to come down to appearances from now until the end of the season for Maguire.

This is how I see it, I have no inside info just a fans guess. I welcome comments and except could get things wrong.
Think Pecnik, Weaver, Bennett are certainties to leave.
Also goalkeepers Davies and Bywater contracts are up expect one of them to leave. Would like to see Bywater remain as excellent reserve keeper.
O'Grady, Lines and Semedo although not out of contract are not in first team plans and can see leaving if we get decent offers for them.
Prutton I think will leave as age is against him although proved useful in a few games this season.
Other out of contract players Coke, Llera, Buxton, J Johnson I think will be offered new contracts but all may attract attention of other clubs so we could lose them.
Additionally I would like to see Taylor leave as looked very ordinary in his first game.
Think Mayor will go out on loan again.

Mandaric must know he needs to spend next season. been lucky this season. is jones the right man for next season?

Mayor? That would seem a little unfair.
Agree2

Jones is right man for club, be a fool to get rid.

I see we have anti DJ post, you make your own luck and where you finish is a true reflection of teams merit. MM and DJ get on really well it is not going to change and considering the limited squad we have done extremely well which is a tribute to all backroom staff.
We have got some reasonable building blocks in place and we do need more talent. If you are trying to acquire players on free transfers who can play at Championship level it is no easy task and you can expect some to not fit in that is football.

To succeed you need stability and someone who knows league that is what we have currently. It would be a disaster to change.
Agree3

"Lucky this season"?
That is comedy right there.
Agree2

How can you get stability with half the side being on loan?
Agree3

Recent form suggests stability.

My point was we are lucky to be where we are after the complete shambles we were at start of season and can we carry on with x amount of loan players. I accept stability is a good thing but if we are reduced to borrowing players from hartlepool maybe just maybe a change might help
Agree2

Who else was available when we took Howard on loan?
Agree1

That depends on how much mandaric was willing to pay in wages
Agree2

Exactly .

So back to my original comment about mandaric needing to spend more cash. on better than 36 year old journeymen
