Seemed obvious from last nights announcement of Carlos as Head Coach with 3 assistants, but Cooper has officially ruled himself out this morning.
I'm now hoping and waiting for Carlos and his crew to prove us all wrong and deliver an attractive and successful team on the pitch.
I, like others I'm sure, will hope he does.

Whatever our feelings about the appointment of Cavalhal, perhaps we ought to remember that he was in transit to a permanent appointment with another club. We intercepted him rather than it being he who applied to us. If Chansiri is rattled by our response to the appointment, then we should make it perfectly clear that our gripe is less with the new manager than with Roeder, to whom we all take exception.

Might be an opportunity to bring in some good young Portuguese players especially as Semedo enjoys it at Wednesday. Just pleased the Managers job sorted. How many First teamers have we actually got does anyone know. I know we let 11 go but most of them were out on loan or fringe players. Bet you know Howler.

I think its currently 16 in the first team squad.
But that varies slightly up or down depending on who you want to include or omit. For example some of the fringe development squad would like to consider themselves in?
I believe the numbers will swell by a couple at least by early next week.
The aim though should & will be to grow the quality rather than the numbers.

Think it is officialy 20 and only 5 are english.

Andy, just to clarify, the "official figure" is more than 20 but it has not been updated and still includes players who are no longer on our books, and some who will definitely be leaving?
Doesn't include a couple who have recently joined us either?
Equally some of the youngsters who were included in the match day squad but didn't play in last 12months are included, but some aren't? Don't know why that is?
Lincoln was asking about "first-teamers".
I think if you or I or any of the other fans went down the list we wouldn't get many more than 16-18 first team players , even with latest additions.
Hopefully that will be changing for the better with 3-4 quality signings very soon
Didn't realise we got 5 more English players than most clubs in Prem. (lol!)

Yep true lol. either way I recon we may not even have any english player. starting on 8th of August apart from maybe Lees. Personaly I don't care where they come from as long as they get us out this league.

Although we got rid of a lot of players we will slowly be making up the numbers and looking to strengthen the teams core, but we are not making more than one big name signing this summer. DC is a businessman, with a business turning over 3 billion, he didn't get there by throwing money away. he's looked at last season, and belives he can be thrifty this summer and possible sneak into a position to spend a bit in jan to push for PO's, last season if we had 3 million to spend in jan we could possibly have pushed on. but we didnt. He's given us 2 seasons to do a job, this first half of the first season is toes in the water time. But rest assured the guy means business. Put his name on the shirt.
