The defender that gray was on about could be Craig Dawson from west brom
Goole owl

Believable1 Unbelievable10

We've got probly the best keeper we've ever had in chris kirkland and we've got John Sheridan no2 in kieron Lee and carlton palmer no2 in Jose semedo and chris maquire is our man to look too for goals

Agree16 Disagree10

Are u for real did u never see Chris turner or big kev pressman play for Wednesday both where better than Kirkland he's good but not as good as them two

Agree8 Disagree17

And also they are no where near as good as sheriden and Palmer sort your head out

Agree18 Disagree7

Martn hodge was better than all of them.

Agree14 Disagree14

Ron Springett was the best we ever had although I appreciate not many of us left who saw him.
He was true class and Englands best ever at the time, and still one of the best ever.

Agree26 Disagree5

Best ever at the time?

Agree12 Disagree8

Not sure why the (? ) but if it helps!
Ron Springett, at the time he was always 1st choice England keeper, had the reputation of being Englands best ever keeper.
Which is what I said!
Hope that makes sense for you now (? )

Agree23 Disagree1

Bob Bolder

Agree1 Disagree9

Kirkland is better than Pressman or Turner.
Kieran Lee is looking best midfield player we have had for some time but not yet at standard of Palmer or Sheridan.
He reminds me of Gary Shelton who was an excellent midfielder and it was unfortunate his career was hampered by injury.
Lee has enough quality to e in a promotion winning Championship side and for first time in 12 years can look at team and see a few players who could be in a promotion winning squad.
We need a few more but nice to see we have a start.

Agree12 Disagree5

Pressman was a good keeper turner was average at best IMO

Agree7 Disagree6

Bob Boulder and Lee Grant were better than Kirkland.

Agree1 Disagree18

David Lucas any day

Agree0 Disagree11

Chris adamson all day long

Agree0 Disagree7

Can't believe Ola Tidman has been forgotten!

Agree10 Disagree1

Theres only one martin hodge

Agree5 Disagree4

Tidman was a belter. Of course nobody has mentioned Pavel Srnicek.

Agree1 Disagree5

Tidman should be remembered as the pigeon saviour.

Agree2 Disagree0

All Owls keepers of course?
Started off as a decent thread, not only lost thread, totally lost plot!
Invaded by outsiders again.

Agree3 Disagree2

To be fair; we`ve always had decent keepers. That`s one area where we have been strong.
I can`t for the life of me remember Ola Tidman though.
Who was the best?. I dunno!
My memory only goes back as far as the rivalry for the first team spot between Peter Springett and Peter Grummit.

Agree4 Disagree1

Worst keeper? Chris Woods?

Agree3 Disagree13

Are you for real. Woods was by far the best keeper we have ever had, unfortunately he made 3 errors in big games. 64 caps for England and would have been double if not for Shilton.

Agree8 Disagree6

Woods certainly in top 3, maybe even 2nd, but No1 was Ron Springett!
He was head and shoulders above Woods, even though he was probably 6ins shorter than him!

Agree9 Disagree5

Woods was crap

Agree6 Disagree10

His brother Peter wasn't half bad either, thought someone else would have mentioned him

Haha play tidman Jesus he was bad I remember watching friendly against Everton the year Rooney was there and injured at hillsborough he came on as sub and conceded 3 awful shots. That was the best he played haha. Lee grant been best in my time I'm only 22

Agree1 Disagree0

Woods was shocking. Couldn't catch, dropped clangers in every big game and was only 2nd choice England keeper because England were crap at the time. Oh yes and the manager that was picking him as England number 2? a certain Graham Taylor. Need I say more.

Agree4 Disagree4

Brad Jones was as bad as they come. Can't believe he's still at Liverpool

Agree6 Disagree3

Peraonally thought Woods when signed would be an excellent signing. But was vey poor, comments saying he was good for Wednesday never saw him play. Pressman was much better.
Hodge had good days as did Bolder but neither as good all round as Kirkland.
Best I have seen in last few years was Scott Carson wh whilst on loan with us was absolutely billiant, actually in performances for club thinkhe is number 1.

Unable to comment on Ron Springett as I was vey young when saw him playing for us but my father said he was top notch.

Agree3 Disagree1

All playing for England under Graham Taylor. Chris Woods, Des Walker, Carlton Palmer, Andy Sinton and David Hirst. Even Paul Warhurst got a call up. Great days.

Agree3 Disagree0

Kirkland was crap tonight but they all where

Agree3 Disagree0

We were still going against cup winners and a premier league win, to say first game was re schedualed for europe and then water logged pitch were we not losing then, the enevitble happend so shows were a good champ team but there a lower half prem team, we need to bounce back v charlton and go from there! then future in vest in expanding and improving the team and squad then go from there, what's anyone think? uto xxx

Agree7 Disagree0

Has anyone noticed hull neglecting mr fryatt again?
lets put in a cheeky offer and get him where he belongs! uto xxx

Agree6 Disagree0

Any one notice the new defender from cardiff seemed out of place for the first goal? uto xxx

Agree6 Disagree1

Our best keeper without doubt was Lee Bullen. never conceded a single goal!

Agree6 Disagree1

Anyone notice how crap Lurch was up front again? Yet another DJ disaster.

Agree5 Disagree4

Clearly a blunt comment. We would never speak about one of our own players like that. At least I hope not.

Agree4 Disagree1

Mark crossley? uto xxx

Agree2 Disagree1

All this talk of our great goalies over the years but no mention of Eric Nixon. shameful!

I was at the game yest and a few people in the 3 Guineas pub was saying that the directer of football that mm wants is mike phelan. I can't see it myself but this is a rumour site.

Believable5 Unbelievable8

Don't need him

Agree6 Disagree3

I feel same way.
I can't think of any English club that has been successful with a D of F?
Newcastle had a couple but lots been said recently about how well that went, or didn't.
Spurs had a go but didn't go well for AVB?
Stuart Gray doesn't look like he needs a lot of help at mo, specially now he has Dixie as his No2.
Anybody set the record straight and remind me where its worked?

Agree15 Disagree5

Fine for somebody to disagree, but if you do you must be able to name the club where its worked - like I asked.

Agree9 Disagree8

Leonardo - PSG.
He did alright there from what I can gather.
