Owen Coyle now 3-1 favorite for Wednesday manager

Agree7 Disagree1

I think I'd give dj abut longer. Think about it reading were in this possison and in January onwards did great. I'm not saying we will win e league but I'm saying we could do better and hopefully not get relegated I want to see how dj and mm react in jan in my opinion I think dj has to spend the cash I'm talking about 5 mil on 3 quilty players to help
I think the likes of Daniel jones, nejc pecnik, jj and when loans are over get bothroyd, sidbe and Helen. Since reda has been injured we've dine crap so when he's back he's a good areal threat. JUST KEEP THE FAITH we need to stick together we out in a great performance against Bristol city and it was just bad luck and when our luck turns and if wee play like that we'll do better. STICK TOGEHTHER because we need to boost there confidence don't get on there back because I really got be bothered for another season in league 1!!!!!!!!

Agree1 Disagree11

No chance will he turn it round.
I know someone who knows a player (yeah yeah :P) and they reckon there were problems between some of the players and jones months back.
Being so stubborn with Bothroyd alone is reason enough to give him the sack.Everyone and his dog can see he has lost his ability or passion for the game.
Whats happened with Rodri. He's good enough for Barca B team but not good enough for us.Jones was goin on about him and saying how you could see the qualities the lad has but now, not a sniff at a starting place.
He has made big mistakes. He isn't a man manager and his past record is less impressive than his standing in the game.
I don't dislike him but he has effed up and we need a fresh start and new ideas.A la Ipswich.
Yes we always get rid of managers but we cant stick with one just for the sake of it.

Agree8 Disagree0

Looking at the post above (dj abut) and it's contents

I was like that when I had my first pint

Go to bed and sleep it off mate and read what you have posted

As Del Boy says "What a Plonker you really are"

Agree5 Disagree2

I have been looking at the comments from the fans of our great club, I can see the pain the anger, but most of all I can see the pride we have in this team of ours. Time is very quickly running out but the shows not over till the fat lady sings, but MM she is putting on her make-up and is nearly ready to sing. Lets all hope you can get on stage before her or we are lost. In 60 years of supporting this wonderful team I have never felt so ashamed of any manager as I do now. You have taken control of our great club MM so CONTROL it you did it easily enough with GM (the true blue) SO do it now get rid of this guy and give us back our pride. I can take going down but I cant stumack going down without a fight - SO GIVE US A FIGHTING CHANCE GET A REAL MANAGER IN - eric the owl

Agree7 Disagree0

Totally agree .

Throwing money is not always the answer, man management is the key

Look at Clough/Taylor and what got out of players who cost nowt

Jack Charlton grabbed this club by the scruff of it's neck and turned it round

We have very capable players , ok Bothcrap excluded, but they lack the passion to play for DJ because he has messed and messed and just basically destroyed their commitment because he has just criticised whatever they have given

DJ is a paid mercenary, we need players like Mel Sterland, Mark Smith and Jon Pearson who gave blood for the team and had total pride in pulling on the shirt

Remember that is what Megson grew up with, saw it, felt it and gave it when he played, and instilled it has a Manager

If we played the Pigs tomorrow who would you want to give the team talk? Who would breathe fire and the will to win

Dave Jones would be cleaning Bothcrap's boots and telling him what a great player he was

The smoke and mirrors is not working Dave we can all see you have failed please shut the door on your way out of S6

Believable19 Unbelievable0

A very sensible and measured statement

Agree13 Disagree0

I say it as it is

My heart is in the club, Wednesday are in my heart

Wednesday till I die

Agree16 Disagree0

I know its never going to happen but i'd like to see Atkinson back.
Hand on the lads shoulders, laugh and a joke in training.
Generally boost morale and call some favours in and get a few decent players in.
It is man management.Ipswich have the same set of useless gits that were crap when we beat them.Look at them now.
I'd like to see Curbishley come in.He's a good man manager and has a friendly style of management. Not like DJ with his dry wit and arrogance.
I think we have had it tbh because we will be at least 10 points adrift by the time someone new comes in.
But we can go down fighting.

Agree4 Disagree1

Yes man management seems to be a big part of the problem here. the best two in my memory were Wilkinson and Atkinson. I'd go for either as a short term fix for the rest of the season (assuming jones is on his way out) but both are retired now. So who else can get the players on his side? Megson wasn't bad was he?...

JR

Agree4 Disagree0

Don't remember Wilkinson with the same rose tint on the specs.

Agree0 Disagree2

Charlton , Atkinson, Wilkinson, & Megson are the only PROPER managers we 've had since 60s , and 3 of those were criticised by fans who didn't appreciate their special abilities ! I'm guessing you one of those ?

Agree2 Disagree0

Rose tints ? Wilkinson not appreciated by people like you, but he went to Leeds, got them promoted and won Prem title in 3yrs - what a mug he was ?
Could have been us but for sections of fans like you.
Same with those booing Megson out & cheering Jones in - be careful what you wish for !

can somebody please tell me what hope we have, because all team selections have been exausted now, yet we are still crup.
i am an owl, but i am extremely disturbed with our current run of form.
could any manager actually do any better with the players we have?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We were ok when the weather was warm, its 2 cold for em i reckon

Agree1 Disagree0

The players were naïve, It is not my fault, it's the players fault, and I didn't give away two penalties. I didn't get too excited; I didn't give away a free kick. It's not my fault, look at my record I'm a good manager.

I am tired of listening to your excuses Mr Jones, at the end of last season we had a very good league 1 side, after all we won promotion by finishing second. We needed some quality players adding to the team, a quality centre half, two quality midfield players and a quality striker. Jones for some reason known only to himself choose to bring in sixteen mainly young players with possibly some potential and of course our saviours Taylor, Bothcrap and sick note Sidibe. But today eight of last years team played and gave their all but it is not enough and Jones is to blame. Then he has the nerve to say it is not his fault. The man is joke but we Owls supporters are not laughing.

sorry to keep harping on but i said over 6 weeks ago mcarthy was the man to take over... look at them now with the same team as before.... by the way qpr sent 2 strikers out on loan boothroyd and dj campbell... who got the best deal?

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Bet we got cheapest

How does the above 2 comments help us in anyway shape or form waste of time

because in my opinion jones is a useless manager and bothroyd has been a terrible signing... whilst dj cambell is scoring for fun....

Unfortunately Wednesday have very little chance
of survival even if they change the manager.
They are getting to far adrift. The main thing is to many defeats. Having said that
a change could bring some pride back early into the new year and few changes to the team next month may get a few better results. I agree with making a change, however we are doomed to a return to league one either way. I did not expect promotion again but you would have thought Mandaric would have made sure we survived in the championship and then sold the club as a good acqusition with little debt, What will happen now?
They will have to let players go next season to get wage bill down.

Believable1 Unbelievable8

On Current form id let the lot of them leave. Only saleable asset we have is antonio poss madine
Questions have got to be asked now of mandaric Has he provided enough funds why wont he sack DJ ?
I know he saved us and we will always remember that and he will always be a legend BUT MM you have to act now we may aswell lose our next 7 games under a new manager it will prove if dj was right or wrong about our team

Agree2 Disagree0

It's not too late yet -- still 25 games to play and 75 points to play for. But we need to act now to change things up, cos this sure ain't workin'. The changes should begin with a new manager named this week

Agree6 Disagree0

Technically 75 points is a heck of alot of points to play for.
So yes you can still be struggling and get
out of it. We have lost 7 in a row, which
is appalling and earlier in the season we lost five in a row. It is like a runaway train trying to stop losing like this.
Wednesday may stop having long losing runs like these, but you are asking them
to win alot of games. They may get a few
wins but can they sustain it?
Say 10 wins, 6 draws and 9 losses. And that may or may not be enough!
I think that is a tall order for this team.
My god I hope I am wrong.

Agree1 Disagree0

It'll sure as hell be a tall order under DJ! To stand any chance at all, we have to pick up points over the holiday period. And to do that, we'll need a new manager and a new coaching staff ASAP

Agree3 Disagree0

08 Dec 2012 17:37:25
Been screaming for DJ to go for last 6weeks cos it was so so obvious he was useless.
But I'll tell you something else, I know hes the owner , but MM has a lot to answer to the fans for !
He was quick enough to act when there was no need to cos we were guaranteed playoffs anyway with GM, alright it paid off(luckily?), but hes been weeks too slow to act with DJ .
He was just hoping that DJ would somehow make something happen and save his embarrassment for him ... luck run out MM !

Believable4 Unbelievable0

08 Dec 2012 17:43:43
just heard jones on radio sheffield.... the man is a clown... blaming everybody else for his own ineptitude.....surely now mandaric has got to see he has to go..... tonight.....

Agree8 Disagree0

Wont get rid of jones when hes still paying megson off

Agree1 Disagree5

Course he'll get rid, it's peanuts to him !
In any case, MM knows it will cost him a lot more to keep him !

Agree5 Disagree1

Why didn`t he pay him off in one go then, rich ppl dont chuck money about, thats why there rich

Agree1 Disagree3

Thats not the way their contracts are written , it's nothing to do with money .
He's on paid "gardening leave" for the duration of his contract, it's done that way for "security" .
It means the manager is still on the payroll so he has respect the company that's paying him - use your imagination.
But it's certainly nothing to do with money believe me the only reason DJ has kept his job this long is because of the way he got it !! Certain people not wanting to appear to have made a BIG mistake .... Even tho he has !!

Agree7 Disagree0

Get "mad dog" martin allen in, he`ll sort em out

Agree0 Disagree5

DJ "i didnt give the penaltys away " We give penaltys away due to the fact teams are always in our half attacking us
He still doesnt know his best team the side today only had 2 of his players in the team which proves the league 1 side isnt good enough for this level
DJ has not improved the team 1 bit its a disgrace had all summer to improve us

Agree5 Disagree0

08 Dec 2012 19:29:12
he sounded like a school kid... it wasnt me who gave the penalty away.... grow a pair dave and walk.....

Agreed with the above comment" not my fault" "go and get mourinho in" "look at my record " Dave can i stop you there mate look at where you are now

"Wise Old Owls" here again

Well I wonder what excuse DJ will use after today's result? Probably blame the Ref or the 25000 managers who know nothing about Football

Even more interesting wonder what MM is thinking?

I heard they had a meeting and decided the players would pick the team and tactics, so what was DJ doing today, was he on half time tea duties?

I am sat here thinking of that fabulous day 31st August 1968 when Jack Whitham scored a hat trick against Man Utd in the best game ever played at Hillsborough, I was lucky to have witnessed that

We need to get back to those days that is where we belong

P45 for Dave Jones

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Agree but waddles free kick against pigs in semi was better. does he have a crack oh and he does rahhhhhhh. di matteo do stop the rot.

Now then all you DJ fans .... do you still think hes up to the job ??

Believable5 Unbelievable1

D.j out we already adrift get him out now before we become an embaresment......

Agree6 Disagree0

Yes he is, we`ll finish mid table no problem

Agree0 Disagree7

Said weeks and weeks ago he needed to go.
But they kept on about him turning it round cos he's such a great manager.
Its too late now.Lose to Dingles and Alex Ferguson couldn't keep us up.
Don't like to say i told you so

Agree0 Disagree0

All we can do now is get someone else in and finish the season with some respectability

brilliant winning 2-1 now loosing 2-3
well done dj just GO lets try winning,

too many chances GO NOW you cant do anything for our team PLEASE JUST GO eric the owl

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Even when we were 2-1 up playing a horrible team with 10 minutes to go, I felt sure we'd figure out some way to lose. It's come to that. Floundering, no confidence, and now becoming stranded at the bottom of the table. With a full week to go before the next crucial game against the Dingles, and with the vital holiday fixtures coming up, this would be a great time to replace the manager. Look what a difference changing the manager has made for Ipswich!

08 Dec 2012 10:49:28
if we lose today thats got to be curtains for him surely.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Deffo , and he knows it !
He has to go anyway, hes talking about signing Bothcrap permanent in Jan if hes still Manager - and we cant let that happen !!

Agree8 Disagree0

At least if players playing how they want to play might stand a chance ?
Lets face it none of DJs ideas have worked.
The only success hes had was last season with Megsons team and system before he started to change things around and just got worse every week .

Agree4 Disagree0

Got to be his last game if we lose.
There will be no excuse good enough.
You can use them for Leicester at home and middlesborough and cardiff away but not for Bristol at home.
Sayin that, i didn't think he could justify losing so bad to watford.
Seriously, he has brought in players but still moans.
Should have brought some better ones in dave.

Agree6 Disagree0

We shouldn't be in the mess we're in with the players that are already here !
DJs just got his strategy all wrong .
Bothroyd is not the player he was , the money has made him lazy, it happens. But DJ has tried to manipulate the team to get the best out of Bothroyd, instead of setting up to get the best out of the team.
DJ is too stubborn/arrogant to admit his mistakes but if he does go , and the right man comes in he will find it relatively easy to recover the situation.
Even now he keeps saying "I haven't become a bad manager overnight" well his record says he wasn't that good anyway, but even if he was , results prove he is not getting it right by a long way now.
His major mistake was not bringing in a quality centre-back & an experienced play-maker to sit in midfield.
He has signed some good youngsters but he should have known the priority THIS season was consolidation, the youngsters could have been brought in through this season once we had cemented our place.

Agree6 Disagree0

His Biggest Mistake Was lack of leaders in the middle of the park

Agree7 Disagree0

According to the local press if we lose today, MM won't fire him until after the Barnsley game because he won't want to disrupt the team before a derby match. He did this with Megson before the United game. So if that is right his time might be up, we can live in hope anyway.

Agree1 Disagree0

Its frustrating that we can see whats wrong and DJ can't.
We needed a good cb.I think jones was unlucky there as he brought in two that were good popular players for other sides.
We needed a quality experienced midfielder and he brought in a promising but inconsistant youngster short term.
Bothroyd has lost it.He wasn't to know, but now he does he must drop him.
He needs to play Rodri. He has shown what he can do but he needs a run of games.
He is so stubborn that he wont listen to the 1000,s of fans that have been going years and know more about football than he gives us credit for.
We have a lot of good players.Just need a new manager shapish who can motivate them and add some quality in jan.
Got to be his last match.Even if we win i think it will be a false dawn like the Ipswich game was.

Agree1 Disagree0

If results stay as they are, we'll lose to barnsley and be dead and buried.
What a balls up

Agree1 Disagree0

Milan are you going daft

Agree2 Disagree0

No excuses, if we cant beat them at home then thats that, we ARE DOOMED

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Dec 2012 10:03:58
Some good news coming out of Hillsborough?
The players have been asked for their input , and they have put forward a "suggestion" of how they think they should play. They want to go back to the Megson setup that was successful last season.
Rumour is DJ is so desperate he may let them go for it ?
I hope so !

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Another miserable saturday looms

Agree1 Disagree0

At least if players playing how they want to play might stand a chance ?
Lets face it none of DJs ideas have worked.
The only success hes had was last season with Megsons team and system before he started to change things around and just got worse every week .

Agree4 Disagree0

This confirms that DJ hasn't a clue what is needed for the side to improve. It smacks of desperation
