Retained list release and no real surprises given players age & recent games played - what does concern me is if we don't sign extensions for Kirkland, Onyewu, Loovens & Semedo then we only have 18ish squad players most of which are from the development team and we would not have a goalkeeper if Kirkland does not extend - which I'm pretty certain he will. We need an big early recruitment drive for a change instead of leaving it last minute as the injuries sustained this season highlighted the fact we have no depth to our squad, if we do this then we may have a more productive season. - UTO! I'm disappointed Reda is going, all the other are correct decisions though. Thought Reda offers good cover and always gives 100%.

Hope wednesday sign some decent players in the future

With our past performance, I wouldn't hold your breath!
However, as an earlier post has pointed out, lack of depth has been a problem with too many of the list who are going not contributing much this year.
Let's all be optimistic and see what happens

Heard a big rumour that if Rotherham don't get promotion Kieran agard will be on his way to us

Good decisions with Reda going he as played 26 game in two season that not good at all.

{Ed040's Note - agree it's not good but I'd have like to see him stay on as cover as he can play in a number of positions

Think medical team will have had input to Reda decision. As soon as he regained full fitness and played all action style, it was noticable injury reappeared.
Think Anthony Gardner decision was also influnced by medical report.
Be interested to know what other positions apart from left back its thought Reda could play. He was hopeless ascentre back didothave concentration level required to be effective.

But Reda played 10 games this season
could not risk it sign him up again I think reda was a good player fitness but time to move on.

Agree Ed but trouble is that we won't invest in a "squad" and that's the long and short of it as we all know that nine times out of ten the teams what challenge at the end of the season have strong squads so they can mix it up through out the season.
All I want for a change is something to look forward too for a change and also it's sometimes a struggle getting my boys to come down with me as most of the time they're not entertained!

The remaining players shortly out of contract will be released, with the list reading as

Adam Davies, Arron Jameson, Reda Johnson, Anthony Gardner, Miguel Llera, Martin Taylor, Jermaine Johnson and David Prutton.

im only sad to see jj but deep down sadly knew this and it was a shocker for reda as he was always a solid impact player that made a difference in my opinion I liked him! : ( uto xxx

For all those who doubted forever owls man about his 3 rumours 2 have now looked very solid

They should get rid of zayatee mattock and coke too as there not good enough Mr C
