Takeover should be rubber stamped by the FA this week, hopefully nearer the start of it. There was a slight question mark after the SNAFU with Lens, the FA wanted to confirm that it was just an admin error, which is all it was at the end of the day. If it hadn't been for the extra checks with that apparently the takeover would have been signed off last week.

Thanks for the update, but it is not the FA but the FL who finalised the takeover.

Agree21 Disagree0

What is the SNAFU?? The problem was with the DNCG which is the financial regulation body of French football.

Agree12 Disagree1

Snafu isn't that a pub in Rotherham.

Agree10 Disagree0

SNAFU = Situation Normal, All F***ed Up. A common military term for when things have gone wrong.

Agree8 Disagree5

Jesus, 15 year as a front line soldier and never heard that. But I like it!!

Agree4 Disagree1

How is the situation normal if its all f***ed? makes no sense

Agree0 Disagree5

I think possibly that it means things are normally f;:£ed up. I can see how that might be difficult for you to grasp

Agree7 Disagree1

Makes perfect sense: 90% of time sat around bored and doing pointless drills then 10% absolutely insane action and no time to think.

'Run over there, get shot to prices, avoid the mines, dodge the tank, kill everyone, plant a flag for a cause you haven't been told. '

Pretty much snafu. Similar to fubar

Agree2 Disagree1

A common American term for how anything which is run by any Government depart is run.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought it was a vegetarian meat substitute.

Agree1 Disagree0

I did 10 years in the forces and SNAFU was day 2 of training, now forces boys what was FUBAB or OISNTRWOIBTDAD the last one I admit is not an acronym but one us forces boys all know

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed003's Note - please don't use swear words guys :) }

That's quorn.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed
The "swear" words are really part of the the old English that has been around for many years (before the Norman invasion). It was just that they used "high level" English to ensure the "plebs" didn't understand much of what was going on around them (Look how long it took to obtain an English Bible that was understood by the common man)

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed003's Note - jollly good.}

And that's a quorny joke.

Agree1 Disagree0

WTF was that all about?
Norman conquests and bible translations.
Eh?
