Hence why I told you all when we got our new owner, don't assume it means good signings or signings that come with a fee.

{Ed003's Note - But nobody has your name to congratulate you - registered only at the end of the month.}

Chill out, mammadov can't find any signings until he has been cleared by the fa, these what we've signed are all on one year contracts for the development squad.

Roger Johnson first major signing of pre-season. will be announced this week. great signing wouldn't surprise me if he was given the captains arm band.

Agree4 Disagree11

Hope wo do sign roger johnson good pro very impresed when he was on loan and to say when he came he was not fit got better every game he played for us

Agree7 Disagree4

Some would argue about him being a good pro, based on his past antics, but after 3 successive relegations and him now being the wrong side of 30 I guess he's bucked his ideas up. Would love to see him back at Hilllsborough.

Hutchinson and Grealish to sign for Wednesday on free transfers. Both high calibre players, fills me with confidence don't know about you lot. UTO

Believable4 Unbelievable15

How do you know? You sound very positive that they're both done deals. I wonder if SG knows yet?

Agree5 Disagree3

Let's just hope we don't go in for Maguire. Yes he's an Owl but we don't want him. Plus he'd be no good in this league.

Agree0 Disagree9

I can't see this as the villa lad has expressed his wish to sign a new contract at villa along with Robinson who is another promising youth player.

Agree3 Disagree4

Hi Ed
It seems we have two very similar S20 Owl registered.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed003's Note - Youv'e got a gap between the S20 and Owl - feel free to change your tag if you want - just unregister and register again with a different tag.}

Thank you I had already noticed the gap, I shall see how it pans out as we start signing players and I have something to post and if any confusion is caused then I will change tag

Agree0 Disagree2

Set up the challenge, lad. You and S20Owl in a straight-shoot. Whoever posts the best rumours over the next month gets to keep the tag. The loser withdraws gracefully and takes a new name!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed 003 will you be the judge?

{Ed003's Note - Go on then but only when everybody has registered EdaleOwl.}

We won't sign Andy Johnson he's 33 and grey said he wanted to bring age off squad down.
Plus he's past it it's hardly like he scored 15/20 goals an was 33 then he would be worth a shot but for me he would do nothing other than pick his pay cheque up an sit with injurys!
Him 5/7 year ago I would have jumped at chance

Believable14 Unbelievable2

I don't think there is any truth in it. We have better strikers in Lavery, Maguire and Madine.

Agree12 Disagree4

Nuhiu aswell think he will have a better season this year was showing abit off promise towards end off season

Agree15 Disagree3

Do we think that Chris Maguire could be the 20 a season man we need? his record last season would suggest as much especially considering he played out wide for the majority of it.

Total appearances 23 (* + 3 as sub); Goals 9; Yellow cards 1; Red cards 0

thoughts?

Bring back ogrady! uto xxx

Quote from Gray:

“I am looking to mould my own team and bring the average age down, ” he said. “We will need a little bit of youth and experience. You have got to have fit players who can play Saturday, Tuesday and Saturday. ”
. .
33 yrs old. 2 goals in 20. hasn't played since Feb due to injury! Where does this guy fit into our plans? (. and even had the gall to turn us down previously, so where's the commitment?!)

Agree7 Disagree2

I think Maguire could be a a twenty goal a season player if he has the right partnership. Then again I thought when he played out wide he worked tirelessly and we need that sort of energy in the middle too. I am worried about Nuhui as he has the stature to make a difference but I don't think he has enough football sense to create enough and if he doesn't put the ball in the net as often as we need then what use would he be.

Agree4 Disagree4

Actually accordin to the star it was redknap not Johnson who turned us down. But you're right we don't need or went him

Agree3 Disagree2

Maguire does not have speed or physical presence to be high quality lead man up front in favoured 4-2-3-1 formation. He was excellent in attacking midfield role and if you have 15+ goal midfield man you have one sought after player. Personally happy for him to continue in that role, if form continues will get call to Scotland squad.

Agree8 Disagree0

^^^^ people said that about McCormack once upon a time, I would say that they are about the same make up in terms of speed and physicality.

Sad day hearing about the death of johnny fanthom great memories great bloke big thanks r. i. p

We now want Andy Johnson from QPR Stuart Gray tracked him last year as he wanted to loan him for the remained of the season but he had an injury
Source: swfc news now

Believable6 Unbelievable8

Was great 10 yrs ago but bin a crock for ages. If he was fit then yes maybe, but he was injured for most of last season and when at Fulham. We ad this problem with Jeffers. We got. enough injured players on loan last season.

Agree8 Disagree2

Brilliant, just what we need, another crock. We will be lucky to get 15 games a season out of him

Agree8 Disagree1

Seems strange, SG says that he wants to bring the average age of the team down, he also says that we got caught out towards the end of last season with injures and players carrying knocks. He wants younger players who can play Sat, Tue, Sat though out the season. Bringing in a 33yr old who has a terrible recent history of bad injuries seems the be against that theory.

Agree6 Disagree1

The article does not say we wantAndy Johnson it says we askedabout him for loan spelllast year and wemay be consideringhimnow released from QPR contract. Another article on newsnow quotes Gray as saying he wants to reduceage of squad too many over's 30's. Therefore no way we are pursuing him.

Agree7 Disagree1

Once again another story that the media have got hold of, finding out that we made a approach for them last season so there assuming we're after them this season. I've said it before we'll have to wait and see who we get because most of our signings will sneak under the radar and be players nobody has mentioned. UTO
