Got to agree offering less to Rotherham in the initial payment for Le Fondre than they paid for him is stupid. You can only do this if he had no success. I accept that Rotherhams valuation is too high and so are others we have bid for but at the same time going in at a mark which is unrealistic will just alienate other clubs. Thought we were making relaistic attempts to get players who could win this league but now I am not so certain.

400k is a lot and they are asking for around the 500 mark so why hasn't he got le fondre. at least mm put a decent bid in but they could have just paid the full price of 500k and say take it or leave it as le fondre only has 1 more year left on his contract and is gonna go on a free if not sold. The other bid is in for norwich's cody mcdonald and is yet to be confermed of the outcome as norwich are still configuring.

The offer made for Le Fondre does look somewhere between unrealistic and silly. If that is our yardstick we are unlikely to capture much in the way of the quality needed.
