Sorry but I don't think Ameobi is any better than what we've got unless he's movin one of our wingers on. Glad grays stayin but hope he aims higher with players we actually buy. Still we have to trust his judgement

How can you say he is not better than what we already have? He was an england under 21, with premiership experience. He is young with potential and hungry for football!

So he was an u21 international so what. Proves nowt. Bothroyd an Jeffers were full internationals, an they really did us proud. Jeffers 700k an 5 goals in 3 years. U21 caps are given out like sweets. How many make the grade. Our ed has stated he has seen him play many times and he's an headless chicken with no end product. We ad one of those with JJ

Jeffers and Bothroyd were both old has-beens when they came to us. Like I said, Sammy is only 22 and has his whole career ahead of him. How many people said Barkley wasn't good enough at championship level when he was with us? Too many negative fans on here who put downers on deals before they are given a chance!

Do not much about Ameobi. No comparison between Ameobi and Boothroyd / Jeffers. This kid is starting out on career, they were both trying to resurrect their careers after unsuccesful moves. Just go back and write tripe on your own pages.

Judging by the senior squad, I would say that England's under 21s must be pretty bad.
The last Newcastle reject we had was Ranger and he was absolute pants.

He's only 19, made 1 appearance for Villa, and spent most of last season on loan at Notts County.
