Wow. I feel good enough to buy a season ticket with that news.

As of tomorrow I will start posting no takeover today - guess ill probably be right for next 15 years.

Now then for us, are we going to get some interesting shopping lists posted in here.

And before anyone starts if it's the right player I don't care if they are free, come from league 1 or 35.

You think the deal was concluded with: 'at the end of the day, we're all Wednesday aren't we!'

Believable16 Unbelievable2

As a life long owls fan this is fantastic news. mm deserves great credit for this. now let's get back to where we belong. uto.

Agree13 Disagree1

Fantastic news for us at last just hope we get a good manager to take us to the promised land premiership here we come

Agree10 Disagree5

{Ed040's Note - I don't know what the rest of you think but I'd still like gray to be given a chance

A good manager is one who gets results against the odds, Stuart Gray has done that many time this season.
I would like to see what he can do with an improved squad, I think he could surprise many people.
The new chairman may well decide to bring in a new man, that's his perogative I guess, but the true Owls fans shouldn't be baying for SG's blood within minutes of the takeover.
Shame on you!

Agree16 Disagree3

Now it is the time to look forward and let us put things in perspective please. Mammadov has proven to be a football fan and succeeded in helping clubs in his ownership but he doesn't have a magic wand. Let us give him our support as we have done over the years but more now, pleading for new blood of decent signing additions. Hope for the best to come! NDS

Agree8 Disagree0

I agree with ed give sg a chance he can get them playing as a whole unit. Add a bit of quality into the mix we could be a force. (And bring in waddle as free kick coach)

Agree10 Disagree3

I hope Mr Grey gets a chance with his own squad of his own choosing, he deserves it and let's be right, he's done well, I reckon he could well be top coach, I think the club owes him at least that.

Agree11 Disagree3

Personally want us to go forward with cool head no knee jerk reactions. We have brought in some talent over last couple of years and lack of budget has scuppered opportunity of making them permenant. Best example was Wickham, I would like to hink we can still get players like this agree fee and make them ours.
This owner strong on Academy so top level here we come and let's hope we start producing some real talent.

Agree9 Disagree0

Billy Sharp ' Sean St ledger ' Shay given if Kirkland don't sign a new deal ' Chris Burke 'Sam Hutchinson' there's a few I would like to see.

Did mm say is staying on as Chairman?

Agree8 Disagree2

A great striker is what I want to see. A 20 goal a season chap

Agree9 Disagree0

After years in the wilderness, and we are now in the Championship, hopefully getting stability in this division, and we have allegedly a man with money in charge. I can see the benefits of having M. M. Remaining as chairman, he knows his way about the club and the Championship. I also think that S. G. should be given his chance to boss the players for this coming season, at least.
I personally cannot see the benefit of throwing an indecent amount of money about just to buy allegedly Big Named players. I am sorry that the likes of Connor Wickham and Matty Fryatt have made their decisions, but that is their choice. I would have made the same decision in their place as we were still up in the air with our plans, but being a true Wednesdayite I would have signed for the Owls regardless. I can now only hope that sanity reigns supreme in the club and nothing is done without a lot of thought for the consequences for the future before we start throwing money about and just buying players for the sake of buying. I still want success for the club but not at any price just sense and stability even if it takes two or three years.

Agree4 Disagree1

In response to "years in the wilderness" poster. I couldn't agree more. Let's do things properly and within affordable budget. Would hate to see us gamble fortunes and end up in a similar mess.

Agree4 Disagree1

We're all wednesday aren't we?!

Havent been this excited since the 93 cup finals.

Agree8 Disagree1

I wonder if Fryatt would have gone to Forest had this takeover been done beforehand. Personally, I doubt it! Would love to see his face if we managed promotion this coming season and Forest bottle it!

Agree2 Disagree0

I agree - I don't think Fryatt would have gone to forest. i'm still not convinced he would be the answer, he's good, don't get me wong but for the wages he commands we could potentially get 2 strikers who would score as many goals as him combined.

People talking about targets, I have no idea, its been so long since we had any £ to spend at all (I remember Laws splashing out £700k on Jeffers and about £300k on Sodje before that it was the Prem days - £3.5m for De Bilde, £3.5m + Regi Blinker for Di Canio. ) that I wouldn't kno where to start.

Get in onwards and upwards for us owls fans can't wait to take my son to first match against Chelsea :D let's see who we buy now wooooooooooo

Agree8 Disagree1

"Land of Fire". wasn't that term applied to so-called trigger happy MM when he first joined us (firing managers for fun lol)?

Agree2 Disagree2

Biggest news since MM saved us from oblivion. Just hope all those ingrates who've been slagging him off in the past now take a few minutes to thank the bloke who truly waited for the right buyer to come along with enough financial clout to finally fulfill our dream of a return to the promised land. Thanks Milan. a true wednesday legend and great shepherd for our long-suffering club during your ownership. You've truly delivered on your promise!

Agree12 Disagree0

Buzzing, literally buzzing. E I E I E I Oh, up the football league we go!

Agree7 Disagree1

I just hope all the doubters can stop whining and moaning now for a little while.

Agree10 Disagree1

Just need England to win the World Cup now.
Ok, ok, I'll stop getting carried away.

Agree8 Disagree2

Well done Milan, not only did you save us in division one and brought us up to date behind the scenes but you have found someone who can take us to the next level. It's a big day for us Wednesday fans now is the time to get behind the team. As for the doubters about Milan hope you take a long hard look at yourselves tonight and think what he has done for us.

Agree12 Disagree0

Lets all give a big thanks to mm where would we have been now without him

LMN, Waddle confirmed as manager? Haven't seen that bit anywhere yet. Has he ever taken any coaching badges? According Wpedia he signed for Hallam last Aug on a 1 yr contract, all seems a bit strange. As for the deal, Phew, maybe a beer or two this evening in celebration.

Agree5 Disagree1

Soooo excited! Best new possible. Would like to thank MM for all he has done you gave us what you promised, and gave us a platform to rise on to so full credit to the bloke. Just hope this new owner is all we hope him to be. WAWAW come on, we re back in the big time

Agree6 Disagree0

Gizowl, I may have read that wrong in all the excitement. Likewise out for a few beers but will check again later.

Agree3 Disagree1

To LMN - Waddle as manager just won't happen!
Great, great Owls player, top top Owls man,. but Owls Manager?
If - Big if - he does come back to the club it would only be as an Academy coach or some sort of "Ambassador'.
His name has been thrown up by some French journos putting France, Sheffield and Waddle together to make a story and as usual somebody swallows it whole!

Agree2 Disagree9

Yes, I got that wrong.
Sure I read it though.
Must be the meds for my broken knee.
:)

Agree2 Disagree0

I had already stated that I was wrong before the 'swallowing whole'comment.
Nice.

Agree2 Disagree0

LMN you could forgiven, his name is showing a lot of hits now. Wouldn't be surprised to see him come in in some capacity - speaks French I'm told, maybe good linkage with Lens, who knows what Big Mamma has in store for future? Like a lot on here think, it'll be disappointing if SG isn't given a chance as reward for what he did for us last season.

Agree2 Disagree0

Cheers Gizowl.
I also hope SG stays on as manager. Who knows how well he could do with a bit of cash to spend.

Agree1 Disagree0

I keep saying it NO TAKEOVER TODAY!

It happened yesterday! UTO!

this is possible rumour banter whatever went on the swfc via newsnow and saw we been taken over and he's wanting waddle as manager and plenty signing I think I will be happier when its official on swfc website! uto xxx

Believable8 Unbelievable2

I for one will not be happy to see Stuart Gray replaced and even less happy if Chris Waddle is appointed in his place. Great player, good bloke but no managerial experienc (don't know if he has ever been a coach).

High green Owl

Agree11 Disagree1

BBC news has just added an update.
Takeover imminent.
(New to me at least)

Agree3 Disagree0

Within the hour has just been announced

Agree2 Disagree0

Phewww, to be a Wednesday fan.

Agree5 Disagree0

Yeah I seen that on twitter. Been flicking through twitter to news now to here for most of the day lol. Put us out of our misery please swfc.

Agree3 Disagree0

Never do things the easy way do we?

Agree2 Disagree0

I think its going to happen! As LMN says BBC carrying it 30 mins ago at 15. 16 " Azerbaijani businessman Hafiz Mammadov is set to complete his takeover of Championship club Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday ". Wonder if he'll finish at 5. 00pm or will work overtime? ;-)
I also would not be happy to see SG go, give him the money and let's see what he can really do.
GizOwl

Agree6 Disagree1

On twitter says swfc has confirmed! Wahey wawaw.

Agree3 Disagree0

Apparently confirmed.

Agree2 Disagree0

Yeeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
L'equipe also confirmed.

Agree2 Disagree0

Milan Mandaric masks for the first home game?

Agree11 Disagree1

Was me that disagreed with above post of milan masks. I pressed it by accident so disregard it lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha, no worries mate.

Well! It's Tuesday now I thought the takeover was supposed to be completed? According to some posters on here?
Still waiting for the press conference!
I get the feeling this is all a smoke screen and it's not happening!

Believable3 Unbelievable14

{Ed029's Note - Very very close according to Rob Staton.

Reports we been taken over and he wants chris waddle as manager! uto xxx

Agree4 Disagree5

Funds waiting to be cleared should be announced today contracts signed

Agree3 Disagree0

Patience you must have my young padawan

Agree3 Disagree1

It's done deal but need to make sure when they do press conference that all parties are in attendance. in the immortal words of Take That " have a little patience"
All is good at S6

Agree4 Disagree0

I contacted Romain Scheers who has been most frequent and accurate poster on Twitter. He is sports journalist following Lens. iI asked himif any British news agency had contacted him and he said not one and it was disappointing.
I also asked about Waddle, he said Mammadov likes lots of well known players around him at club. Mandaric will remain as Chairman so hpefully no mad policies will be fllowed.

Agree3 Disagree0

Waddle would be a disaster

Agree7 Disagree2

If only if this is true, i'm saying it is or isn't if only fryatt was more patient with us to get more money just like gooch is holding out for! xXx

Agree0 Disagree2

According to L'Equipe, deal done in London last Sunday. MM to stay on as chairman and Waddle to play some role in the club. Somebody hand me an adult daiper quick! Best news since MM saved us from admin and possible liquidation! Hail the saviour (once again)!

Agree6 Disagree0

Mexowl, seems you where ahead of the game there pal.
Get in lads.

Wonder if the doubters will be man enough to admit that they were wrong?

Agree4 Disagree0

I doubt it very much, they will be thinking of what negposts to put up

Agree2 Disagree0

10 Jun 2014 06:28:16
Looks like we have missed out on Fryatt. no surprises there!

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Just can't believe he's gone to forest, a team full of optimism that always talk the talk and never walk the walk.

Agree7 Disagree0

10 Jun 2014 10:43:52
It's going to be another season of disappointment and struggle! It happens every season, it's all part and parcel of being a Wednesday fan. Oh well, WAWAW!

Agree1 Disagree5

A club with more ambition than us, a club with more chance of promotion than us, a club that pays better wages than us, a club that finishes higher than us every season, a club that's wealthier than us and a club that's more stable than us. I wonder why Matty signed for them and not us?

Agree2 Disagree7

Yes poor choice Pearce very poor manager. Fryatt very good player at Championship level but has long spells out due to injury. I was none too keen due to him bing injury prone so do not mind missing out. Clearly different recruitment policy underway, we were in for Gunning but backed out. We clearly set our sights higher than him, who knows we may have moved on from Fryatt.

Agree5 Disagree0

There are plenty more fish in the sea

Agree4 Disagree0

Mammadov probably has better irons in the fire ;)

Heard we are after player called Richie Towell currently playing in Ireland with Dundalk. Former Celtic and Hibs centre midfielder, early 20s and won the Irish league player of the year last season some great clips on you tube but apparently Burnley and Brentford after him as well!

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Weve had it then if Brentford are after him
