harewood gonna be training with barnsley as from monday andy giddings just said on football heaven

Believable12 Unbelievable3

Good, after watching last Saturday he would be a waste of wages when we already have COG. Still think we need the spine of the team signing CB Berra (Wolves)/CM Elliot (Bristol City)/CF LeFondre (Reading).

Agree4 Disagree10

Le fondere will never sign

Agree8 Disagree2

It took 3 month to sign antonio from reading.wud take all season to sign alf.it wont appen

Agree6 Disagree0

God I hope not Berra......he's useless!

Agree4 Disagree3

I agree with the spine comment to a degree we could do with another CB but it's not essential, however the players listed no thanx !

Agree0 Disagree0

Harewood to sign one year deal with us after hat trick against kilmarnock

Agree0 Disagree5

Harewood has rejected offer and will sign for Barnsley

Marlon Harewood to train with Barnsley from Monday and will NOT sign a contract with swfc. Source: radio Sheffield

Believable12 Unbelievable4

True, another striker on the way, watch this space...

Agree9 Disagree1

Trust in DJ

Agree10 Disagree2

I trust in dj aswell. Bit we all got thank gary "ginger" megsen for steadying our sinking ship. He is a martor! Dont forget it. He took the sacrifise for the good of the club. King megsen led us through long live king jones!

Agree9 Disagree1

All Owls should echo the praise for Gary Megson who put the pride back in to the club, we will always be grateful.
Now Dave Jones has the opportunity, and the backing of MM , to take the club upwards. The good times are coming back thanks to Gary & Dave.

Agree6 Disagree0

This "trust in DJ" thing is becoming a bit of a cliche...wonder if it will be said so often when Wednesday are hovering around the bottom three?

Agree1 Disagree5

Grunting?? Me thinks re bottom three

Agree4 Disagree1

Theres no chance we will be anywhere near bottom 3. Top 3 is more realistic. Blunts will finish 10th.

Marlon hardwood to train with barnsley as of Monday

Believable7 Unbelievable6

Is this a p**n star?

Agree11 Disagree4

His cousin, Alan Plywood has been handed a one year deal at United.

He's a versatile left-back - kicks a ball but can also refurbish the changing rooms.

Agree5 Disagree1

Bit of a plank

Agree3 Disagree1

I nearly died from reading this post ! Having it on back of shirt first thing !

Agree0 Disagree1

He failed a drug test. They found traces of MDFA in his blood.

You'll notice that number 5 is blank in the official squad numbers - so that at least confirms that we're trying to bring in a first choice, right sided, centre back. Apparently not McGowan though? Did DJ really deny it was McGowan?

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Not necessarily a 'first choice' centre back. DJ maybe happy with Gardner and Llera, Llera just prefers to have the number 32. And may just want more back-up for the first team.

Agree3 Disagree3

Doesn't necessarily mean the new no. 5 will be first choice. Llera obviously chooses to wear 32

Agree4 Disagree1

Bennett and Weave not allocated a number not going to be around very long?

Still 4 to come in and probably 2 in addition to above to go Coke being one but with Lines injured and no clearance for MCCabe short in midfield.

Agree3 Disagree1

No he wants a right footed centre back with pace.

earlier i posted that jay bothroyd had signed; following feedback from this site i checked with my source and told the following:

bothroyd has been offered a deal; but he's said to be considering his options.

the striker alluded to in paul walker's tweet is in fact magaye gueye. dave jones was at goodison yesterday to agree the deal, and watched him during the olympics. everton have offered a contract to michael owen and are hopeful of completing that deal soon. when everton sign a striker magaye will move to hillsborough.

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Lets hope your right

Agree4 Disagree1

Yeah this sounds about right

Agree2 Disagree3

Owen signing for stoke.

Agree2 Disagree2

Sorry but does nt work for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is wide of mark.

Agree1 Disagree0

Im sure DJ wont go to everton to talk a deal out, would use a thing called a phone dont know if u have heard of one?

false info im affraid, Neil Harris from southend is believed to be on the cards at hillsborough 250k plus COG, BARGIN!!!!!

Just checked squad numbers on O/S & Nicky Weaver hasn't been allocated one, make of it what you will - ray

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Doncaster Rovers are interested in Weaver

Agree4 Disagree2

Signing for donny

Agree3 Disagree3

Booooo :-(. Great keeper!

Agree4 Disagree4

When we signed bywater did you not notice improvement in form of team and back 4.

rumours off glenn whelan coming back to migthy owls after stoke completed the transfer of micheal knightly from wolves..uto!

Believable2 Unbelievable12

Michael Kightly is a wing player where as Glenn Whelan is more central so i can't really understand that

Agree8 Disagree0

Absolute waffle! No chance

Agree6 Disagree1

Not a chance! Plus Kightly is a winger and Whelan is a centre mid, so how could Kightly coming in push out a player from a different position?

Agree4 Disagree2

Yeah! Now they've signed a winger they can offload a central midfielder! YIPEEE! No mate, not going to happen. Why can't you guys let go of players who played for us 5 - 10 years ago! Whelan, Brunt, Kenwyne... gees!! WHELAN WILL NOT SIGN!!

Reda leaving! Going to Palace as part of a swap deal for Darren Ambrose! suppose we have a lot of defenders, especially left backs so its a move that makes sense but ambrose is very inconsistent, world beater on his day tho, still not forgiven the person for scoring that outrageous goal against us to send us down 2 yr back.

Believable1 Unbelievable11

So, let me get this straight. Crystal Palace are going to buy Darren Ambrose back from Birmingham City, who they sold him to in July, in order to swap him with Reda Johnson from the Massive. Sounds legit.

Agree10 Disagree1

How do you work this out when ambrose signed for birmingham city. if your going to make stuff up at least do some research

Agree9 Disagree0

Ambrose moved to Birmingham four weeks back. Very poor effort.

Agree8 Disagree0

Speaking of defenders. Just checked the website and it seems that Kieran Lee has not been given a squad number. Website error or a downright puzzle ?

Agree0 Disagree4

Reda will go back to centre back and Ryan mgrowen or how ever you spell it from hearts will go left back had a bid of 300k rejected today. just my thoughts

Agree0 Disagree6

Kieran Lee is number 20

Agree5 Disagree0

Sorry mate, you're bonkers. Reda can play left back, McGowan has never played left back in his career and is right sided. Why on earth would that series of events happen?

Agree5 Disagree0

Kieran lee is squad number 20 and DJ has said he is not after mcgivern

Agree4 Disagree1

Kieran Lee is number 20

Agree2 Disagree0

Kieran lee is number 20 me thinks you need specs

Agree2 Disagree0

Joe mattock is a left back

Agree2 Disagree0

See Lee has been given a number now

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolute donut! Posting utter pig tripe waffle that isn't anywhere near the truth do some reasearch fella!

Agree0 Disagree0

No squad number for lee, is that why mattock is playing right back?

Agree0 Disagree0

I posted the comment about the lad from hearts goin left back for some reason that's where i thought he played should have checked first my bad!

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2012 03:08:05
Dave Jones says reports claiming he's made a bid for Hearts defender Ryan McGowan are not true

Agree0 Disagree0

The first posting had no number for Lee, but, when the drop-down list was posted soon afterwards, he was given no. 20. Hence the confusion

DJ interviewed by Paul Walker earlier said a deal in place with a player but the team we are getting him from won't close the deal until they find a replacement. Source Paul Walker on Twitter. Any Ideas?

Believable4 Unbelievable0

See my post below re Jay Bothroyd. My source is at the club and I hadn't seen the tweet from Paul Walker, so it makes me more confident that the info I was given is correct. UTO!

Agree0 Disagree1

Your post below was written after PW interview also Boothroyd they just want to offload did not even go on pre season tour. So post makes no sense.

Agree1 Disagree0

Or there is the distinct possibility that it could be someone else

Agree0 Disagree0

I hear the lad we have agreed a fee for is from everton aged 21 from Senegal

Agree2 Disagree0

Its got to be bothroyd as bellamy has signed, ie the club wont let the striker sign until another takes his place, ie bellamy in and jay out etc.. uto

Agree0 Disagree2

Bothroyd play's for QPR, Bellamys signed for Cardiff!

Agree4 Disagree0

So Ambrose as moved back to Palace and Bothroyd as gone back to Cardiff, now they are trying to sell them both again, its happening quite a bit these days, strange.

Agree1 Disagree0

What are you on? Bothroyd is at QPR! This site has some serious head cases on it now! Codswallop!

Agree3 Disagree1

Quite clearly if we have agreed a fee for a player and they are loking for replacement it is not a Premiership Club. It will most likely be a Championship or Scottish Premier side as Jones wants proven performers at Championship level. Have to agree the level of common sense/nouse applied to comments on here as gone down rapidly. Check facts, read what Jones and Mandaric have said, look at Jones buying record where he acquires players from, does he stock teams with players from former clubs?

Agree1 Disagree0

Although Cardiff remain favourites to sign Liam Lawrence, Dave Jones will speak to him today with the hope of completing a deal before the side's opening clash with Derby. Should Lawrence be convinced of a move to the Owls a medical will be conducted on Monday.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

This whole Liam Lawrence link is tenuous at best. I keep seeing his name mentioned but no one with any kind of actual source has said it. It seems to be the whole "free agent - must be hillsborough bound" a la Michael Owen, Orlando Sa etc

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Aug 2012 13:32:03
Sheffield Wednesday have agreed a deal to sign Jay Bothroyd from QPR. However, the deal cannot be completed until QPR find a replacement.

Second bid expected for Hearts defender Ryan McGowan, with the Owls hopeful a compromise fee of £500,000 can be agreed.

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Qpr currently have around 6/7 strikers so doubt try new to find a replacement. So doubt it will be bothroyd

Agree1 Disagree0

DJ said the link to Ryan McGowan is a load of BS

Agree2 Disagree0

I wouldn't say no to Bothroyd.......in a footballing sense, of course, lol!

Agree2 Disagree1

Yea but how many managers say there not intrested and then announce they have signed them

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Aug 2012 13:06:17
£300k Bid for Hearts Australian defender Ryan McGowan turned down.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

We've been told to double the bid. No surprises there.

Agree1 Disagree0

Whilst I am delighted to see Antonio back, we made a rod for our backs by going along with the continuing escalation of Reading's demands. They'll all have a go now -obviously. Wouldn't you ?

Agree0 Disagree0

we desperately need a qualitly striker..anyone heard of any coming in?

Believable4 Unbelievable4

No. But i'm sure we'd all like it to be before Saturday. The team needs to be together from the off.

Agree4 Disagree1

Dj and mm know what there doing. people just need to be patient

Agree1 Disagree3

Wednesday have had a bid of 300,000 knocked back for hearts and australlia centre back Ryan McGovern and hearts say they won't double that be a good signing but we need to offer about 600,000

Agree1 Disagree1

I know we need to be patient but as the first commenter said..we need they in the season starts!

Agree1 Disagree1

We have made an offer for Bothroyd

Agree1 Disagree5

I think the answer to your question is Harewood...like it or not

Agree5 Disagree6

We dont need a defender we need a attacking midfieler or striker

Agree1 Disagree1

We still have until the end of the month until the window closes - plenty of time yet

Agree1 Disagree1

Here is a list of strikers who could be available
mccormack
maynard
mackail-smith
jackson
gueye
bothroyd
any other ideas

Herd from good source Maine goal machine going to leicester any body know anything ?

Believable1 Unbelievable10

Load of b$$$$$$s

Agree5 Disagree0

Maine goal machine or Madine? If your gonna make things up at least spell it correctly

Agree7 Disagree1

Haha good un mate uto

Agree4 Disagree1

There may be something in this. I know we are willing to let him go at the right price.

Agree2 Disagree4

Never going to happen, if it ever was going to id expect at least £5 milling +

Agree4 Disagree3

I have to say I was surprised we would let him go at all but the figure quoted was £2m

Agree0 Disagree3

No chance.hes our number 9....the main man

Agree1 Disagree1

£5 milling?
Take out the last made up word and you may be close to his valuation.

Agree1 Disagree0

I dont think DJ rates him would not surprise me if he go for right offer let him

Agree2 Disagree2

Maine* man apparently...

Agree1 Disagree0

I'd take 2mil for him any day

Agree1 Disagree2

Madine 22 years old score 18 league goals last season, and u would take 2 mil, do 1 mate find a better player at his age with that goal record in the championship. His a great prospect wait til his 26/27 with experience he will be a top player! he was our top goal scorer and people want to get rid of him??

Agree0 Disagree0

Orlanda Sa is the person who is in talks about a move to the massive but he has choice of us Blackburn an wolves

Believable1 Unbelievable7

He's already moved to a club in Cyprus

Agree7 Disagree0

Signed for a Cypriot first division side, think Limassol.

Agree4 Disagree1

Massive need to bring in top flight players we need play offs at least ?

Agree1 Disagree4

I love it when a rumour is posted and then gets shot down instantly LOL
