Stuart gray on tv saying he expects to get job full time

Didn't see anything on tv myself about that but we seem to be doing everything economy class. All we have to do is look at the cheapest manager - the cheapest players and the cheapest way back to div 1 - -sorted and all for nowt (not bad business eh)

Perhaps you would like to point out what approach Leeds are using. Wednesday have move forward it is not as fast as we would like but progress there is. The development squad system has produced Lavery and we have other promising players coming through. In addition Palmer is steadily improving and on right path. The likes of Barclay and Wickham ae high quality players which we would be unable to afford, only a fool would think you are better buying a £300,000 player and expect them to perform better than highly promising Premiership youngster. Look at promotion winning championship teams and look how many loan playes they have.

We could do with retaining some sense here. People are talking about us not spending. It's not an owner's requirement bankrolling football clubs spending on players. They are a business, and profits should fuel spending. We owe MM money from the takeover still as far as I am aware. Rightly so, we are a business NOT a charity. Blame those that got us into debt. Not the man who took on that debt. You are doing the equivalent of hating the CO-OP bank for lending us money. If he starts bankrolling all these transfers it would probably be in the form of further loans.

There is no point looking at other clubs spending. We don't have parachute payments, and we are being run sensibly. If you want to run a business to sell it, you have to prove it is not hemorrhaging money and is efficient. Spending millions on new players (who aren't guaranteed to want to be here) just to say we have "some new faces", which is seemingly what people are calling for, will never find a credible buyer.

MM is rightly taking his time on the manager. We are winning games, so there is obviously no need to rush. When we sack a manager, we have to pay them off for the remained of their contract unless they agree to a settlement fee. Why would you hastily rush into getting a manager when we are winning and the cost of getting it wrong is significant. To be frank, half our transfer budget is probably paying off Dave Jones. And that is the reality of how the world works, there may be some incorrect assumptions in there, but the large points are there. I think we need to be realistic. We have a good feeling around the place, let's see where it takes us in the coming difficult games. Stay realistic. WAWAW.

Having read MM's comment on manager situation I got the distinct impression he was surprised how well Gray has done and is reluctant to give him job. Asked a couple of rfiends who reckon to be in the know and they confirmed MM is vey uncertain of giving Gray job full time. Asked them any other news;
Apparently we have spoken to the other MM (Malky Mckay) and he wants a certain transfer budget guaranteed, so unlikely he will be arriving. Another name which is in frame is Steven Pressley do not know much about him but said to have lots of potential. MM has now accepted will not get Evans from Rotherham.
One European manager also in frame others who applied are not acceptable. Surprisingly financial reasons are not said to be the reason for unsuitability.

Will we actually sign anyone? Or is it just mm spinning a line, ( not be the first time!) tells ya what you want to hear! Still got all Friday to get a couple in before Leeds game lol UTO

Believable0 Unbelievable0

LOL Leeds got two players in did them a lot of good, we got Lavery back fom loan.
If you listen to Gray we ae still waiting back for replies fom two players. Quality/intelligent players will not rush in and jump at fist opportunity.
Gray said terms agreed with club, did say sometimes its agents who scupper things which is unfortunate.

Roger Johnson threw his shirt to West ham fans at end of game and it was thrown back to him. Have to feel for him we know lives on a it of a tightrope we got him back on track and now who knows. Will have shattered his confidence at least and just hope we do not try to bring him back here as he will definitely not be same player mentaly as when at Hillsbrough.
By the way understand he sets a record if he goes down with Hammers it will be an unprecedented 4 straight relegations in a row for a player, already had 1 with Birmingham and 2 with Wolves.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Think the shirt throwing incident was at Wolves mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

It did happen at Wolves but was repeated again at West Ham. Know what effect it made on him at Wolves, hence above post.
Appaently played well on Saturday.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ah, fair enough mate, didn't realize that.
Seems a bit odd him wanting to throw his shirt at men on such a regular basis.

Paddy Madden. 300k move to Scunthorpe United agreed. Decent striker for Yeovil last season and scored few this. My question is how can scunny spend 300k and us nothing? Need a new spine to the team

Am I thick or do some people not get it, swfc are desperate for players and not looked like bringing anyone in whereas other championship clubs are already doing buisness, a club as MASSIVE as ours shouldn't have to rely solely on loans rushed in at end of transfer window

MM said we are trying to sign a striker before the Leeds game. I was hoping we would take a punt on Billy Sharp but the papers are saying that Doncaster want him on loan for the rest of he season and Adam Le Fondre won't come as he's wanted by both Millwall and Barnsley.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why would barnsley have dibbs on a player above the massive? uto xxx

Agree0 Disagree0

Because they are prepared to spend money!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, and see what happens when the scrubbers do spend money and still get relegated.
ring any bells?
