during last nights "football" it was clear that we are in for a hard season. we lacked creativity and balance, all the new signings that played were seriously off the pace of the game and the only player that showed and class at all was gardner.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It sun that Sammy has put in a bid of £20,000 000 to buy the Wednesday, so who knows maybe we will see some money spent on a few good players, we can only hope. UTO eric the owl

I said it on here a million times last season and my opinion is still the same. Get rid of Dave Jones now because if we don't we won't get lucky this season we will go down. Bringing in a new manager at this stage of the season will give him the time to turn us around, bring in some good players and get rid of the dead wood that DJ's brought in.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree

Agree0 Disagree0

Who would you pick as his successor then and also how much would DJ's severance package be plus any compensation if the new manager is already at a club. All money that could be spent on transfers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bad reasons for keeping a poor manager. The Chinese have already indicated that, should they take over, they will replace DJ

And who is going to pay for these players not mandric

Agree0 Disagree0

Managers don't come and leave on free transfers. DJ has at least 1 year on his contract and has not really failed at the job so would be due compensation for that final year. No decent candidates who aren't at clubs at the moment so we would have to pay some money to the club we get the manager from too and all this wasted cash doesn't even guarentee that we will do well. If we sack DJ now a new manager won't have time to assess the squad and get any new players before the window closes and the current players might not gel with the new managers tactics so we don't do well. What do we do then, sack him and get someone else?

Agree0 Disagree0

Nope these seem like genuinely good reasons not to get rid of him, we are probably talking the best part of 2million to sack him and get a replacement and that's before the cost of the new guys contract. DJ isn't my favourite SWFC manager ever but he is doing an ok job and it is money we can't afford to spend to get rid of him

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are we talking about sacking the manager after just a couple of games, we weren't exactly played off the park by QPR, and it was the arrogant layed back attitude that got us pasted by an up for it Rotherham. Agreed it was probably DJ's fault for that attitude but it's only two games in, get behind the manager and the team and sing your hearts out for the lads and let's see where we are when January transfer window opens.

Agree0 Disagree0

We are not wanting to get rid of Jones after just two games. We have felt the same from very early in his reign and have never wavered despite being insulted for our belief. His greatest skill is in convincing supporters to lower their expectations. He has persuaded many of those who back him (including MM) that mere survival is a huge step forward - it is not. We were extremely lucky to survive last season and we do not want to run the same risks this season.

when will we realise that the powers that be at s6 are not investing in the team at all. its garbage to keep banging on about we are aiming to get to the premier league and then follow it up by signing free transfer players. rotherham were excellent last night whereas wednesday were woefull. Its no coincidence that we always miss out on so called name players. roll on a takeover, a takeover that would want to have a go! As opposed to the aim of making a personal profit.

As poorly as prutton played last night, he still came over and paid respect to the fans, he deserves respect for that. We didn't plau very well at all & I was really frustrated last night & I felt that Floro was rubbish but he didn't have any help from Helan on his professional debut. Really don't see what Helan brings to our team & as for playing Maghoma upfront it is a joke, he played so well out LEFT last year for Burton so why do we play him upfront?

Bloody hell all the negsperts have come out of the woodwork again incredibly quickly. We are two games into the season for f**ks sake, that's 2 not 42, the season is less than a week old. We played well on saturday against arguably the favourites for the title, most pundits believed we should have got something from that game too, yes we didn't play well last night but I don't care about having a cup run. I would rather have a good run in the league and not have the extra games in the cup where players get tired or injured. Get off the players and managers backs, all this negativity does filter to them and let's be honest would you give 100% if you knew you were going to get slated regardless of how you perform. Some of you on here I bet can't play football for toffee. let's see you get on the pitch with loads of negative people shouting at you and see how you perform. Yes we need some players as the squad is a little small but who do you propose we sign. The best players are out of our reach at the moment, we could get them and go back into debt, is that what you want? Other players are being wanted by so many clubs that talks are taking time. There are 26 days of the window left and I am sure in that time we will see more players come in. If there haven't been any new players with 2 hours left in the window then you can complain, and if we are in the relegation trouble with over half the season gone then you can also complain but till then please for f**ks sake take your negativity elsewhere or get behind the lads 100% and cheer them on to perform for us.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Did you pay to go watch the game last nite? Pay for travel? A hotel? All in all about 100pound +? Prob not,, that's why people complain, that's half a weeks wage for sum ppl, just saying,,,

Most of the posts above have said it for me so nothing really to add except what I said before the start of the season:

NO DECENT SIGNINGS THIS SEASON

You can disagree as much as you want by keeping your head buried in the sand (as one of the above posts said) rather than facing the truth. But this time as the season has already started I am going to add this:

YOU ONLY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

If you don't invest you don't succeed, business like!

Original poster here, I did go to the game and drove there and back from my home in North Leeds. I didn't get to the game at QPR due to a family emergency but had already bought train tickets and obviously my seat for the game so yes I have spent a fair amount of money, as a family we don't have much disposeable income so I don't get to many games but I got a decent bonus so could splash out a bit this month, I might not get to another game for a couple of months but that makes me no less of a supporter than anyone else on this board. Again there is talk of getting rid of DJ (a different post before there is any confusion). This has so obviously worked for us before changing the manager every couple of seasons to get better performance. Name any club where a team has done massively better after changing a manager and consistantly performed at that high level, it gets you temporary results but after a few dodgy results that manager is looking over his shoulder thinking he might be sacked next so results don't improve. All the doom and gloom merchants do is harp on about how we haven't spent any money. As I mentioned in my last post would you like to go back into debt again, or possibly see a new investor come in who doesn't give a damn about the club and its supporters. MM has spent lots of money getting the back room staff sorted and getting that better after years of neglect, the new signings so far this season look a lot better than last year but give them time to gel as a team. Some of them only joined last week so they still need to get used to each other. (Note to the editor, I am the original poster just on a different IP address as I am at work now just in case there is any confusion) {Ed001's Note - no worries mate.}

Well don't spend the money and then stop winging.

I love playing wingers up front way forward I hear! Uto xxx

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not just a question of buying players. When we get them they are too often played in weird formations, out of position or with tactics that don't suit them. It's a learning curve - he's right- but not only for players. Will there be jam tomorrow?

It's all about the league for me not that fussed about going out of league cup, it would be nice to have a good run in fa cup but would prob only cause more injuries or stupid red cards! UP THE MASSIVE! Onwards and upwards!

Listend to game and it just seems we cart pass a ball,, the simle things, I just don't understand wot the problem is, with something so simple, and we need a big boss player in centre mid who can dictate the game, I wouldn't even no who is available but we need to get looking fast,
