Warnock also added that he was the best man to keep the club up out of the candidates on the shortlist (which means he must have seen the other candidates). We have been linked to an approach for Evans in the past few days and are now being linked to Dikov. Makes me wonder if there is any proven, winning manager with lots of Championship experience on that list or if all of the names on it are low level men.

Having sat and thought for five I think we can speculate as to just who is on the list. We know 100% that Warnock was one of the five, MM has confirmed that Gray is on the list and we know that there is an overseas name, probably Benni. That only leaves two (possibly three) spaces unaccounted for. Rotherham issuing a statement that they refused us permission to speak to Evans pretty much places him as one of the rest, so who are the others?

Warnock (ruled out)
Gray (confirmed by MM)
Carbone (the overseas name)
Evans (approach declined by club)

If reports are correct then Dikov is on the list too. Of course this is just speculation in part but that list is pretty uninspiring considering some of the managers out of work and that MM said around 60 applicants came forward. Looks to me that we are looking more at names to get us back out of League 1 than keep us up, trying to do it on the cheap. MM says he will begin interviews again next week now, I hope he has another think and adds some better names to that list.

Fully agree ponty. I may be wrong but I suspect Tuesdays win may have changed both mm's perspective and timeframe. Another good performance/result on Saturday could lead to keeping sg & lb in caretaker roles for a while longer. NB

Agree0 Disagree0

No one on that list inspires me. Warnock would have been ok for a temp. hope its not ince

MM says he wants an English/British manager with experience of the Championship, someone who can get immediate results and improvements, doesn't that sound like Gary Megson?

Some people have posted on here that if if you supported Dave jones you are partly to blame for me our current plight. How does that work then? Do they help pick the team and tactics? Don't forget some of the players are to blame as well as Jones. SO just a little poser. If supporters cheer on these players to lift them, are they partly to blame for our current plight also? Are they also non wednesdayites because they dared to cheer on these under performing players. Just thought i'de ask. Old mature owl

Roland Nilsson for me. Big Ron said he was the ultimate professional as a player and I think, as manager, would be respected by players and fans alike. Don't forget he is a successful manager (in Sweden) in his own right - not just an ex-player.

Dunt bother me if warnock gets job as long as we stay up. he's a profesional manager with a decent record of getting sub standard teams playing with passion and pride. Look beyond the united link lads

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That is what I have been looking at and after being quite successful at the Blunts he hasn't done much else. I don't want him because quite frankly he is poo, or words to that effect that would get this post deleted. Proved at Leeds in the last half of last season that he can't perform at this level now and should be allowed to continue his retirement in peace.
