Euro sport news is reporting that the Saudi prince that as taken on 50% ownership of Sheffield United held talks on 2 occasions earlier this year with representatives of Sheffield Wednesday. It says that the prince pulled out of further talks due to SWFC not making him feel wanted. If this is the case then how are we supposed to get investment when the clubs reps are inept.
I have not geard this on Eurosport which rarely comments on anything but Premiership. Also nothing on website, is this Trigger?
I also heard he had talks with Wednesday and said the same not wanted.
If this saudi prince had talks with Wednesday, and that's a big if, then they had their reasons for not going with him. It is yet to be seen as to whether he will have any impact on united at all. By all accounts the man is not all he seems to be and in my opinion we are better off in Millan's hands until a buyer that is right for the future of Sheffield Wednesday comes along.

Unless a capable striker is brought in we are really going to struggle this season. Things are now getting serious. During the transfer window even the pundits were saying that Wednesday are absolutely desperate for a proper goal scorer. One who's got a proven record and will get us 20 plus goals per season. It's years since we've had a striker capable of this and it's years that we've been struggling. We need a striker who's capable of getting a hat trick during the season. When was the last time we had one of them? When was the last time we had a striker that the papers raved about and was rumored to be being watched by a host of bigger clubs? A striker that is worth big money? A striker who's name is recognisable to fans of other clubs? A striker that's capable of scoring a winner out of nothing to nick us 3 points. I know strikers like this can cost big money but surely the investment in such a striker must work out worthwhile in the long run with regards to securing our position in the league, targeting a high position in the league and success in cup competitions.
Appreciate and agree with your sentiment and wishes. However, strikers nowadays have to cope with twin centre backs and highly organised defences. Not so easy any more to score freely.
We ned a striker who chips in a goal every 3 games, it would make a huge difference and last season would have probably got us in playoffs. Personally prefer not to have a hat trick type striker as they tend to go long periods without a goal and we need a consistent turnover. DJ knows this but can not get one without cash and neithe can anybody else.
As the second poster said with the good coordinated defences in the championship now it will be tricky for a striker to get 20+ goals. Apart from the odd game the majority of games are decided by a single goal and that little bit of magic to unlock the defence. That is what I think is missing, someone in the middle of the park who can make that killer ball, or make a run at the right time to get onto balls. We have been very one dimensional and fairly predictable which makes it easy for defences to restrict our scoring, that one unpredictable player will add that bit extra to the attack making us less predictable and freeing up space for the strikers to have that little more time on the ball which maybe the difference between scoring or not. That should be the player we need not necessarily an extra striker.
All good posts, however if we did get q striker capable of 20 goals a season it would be great. But could we hold on to him. Still let's get one first an see
I'm sorry, but are a lot of "fans" that comment on this page persons? Okay, this is not the best team we have had in the last 20 years, but neither is it the worst, last season I admit we didn't do well, but the quality we have in the squad we could go a long way in this league. We have a lot of young players starting to come through, and that is a good thing, we have a few "Old Owls" who will be teaching them thanks to the experience we have in some areas. Soon, I promise you will be singing Wednesday's praises, especially in the coming weeks. x x

Be happy with 20,000 gates all we should expect is surviving in this division you are getting brainwashed WE SHOULD BE DOING MUCH BETTER.
