Buxton not Championship player, JJ is just ordinary at this level, LLera/Taylor/Gardner combo too slow for fast skilled players that are todays Championship strikers. Madine/O'Grady/Sidibe/ will only score if wingers deliver from wide and not long ball from back four. Midfield is about technique, experience, guile and an engine that takes them box to box...we don't have this.
At best, this is a good League One side struggling in this league...MM needs to spend to attract Championship players, someone ask him what budget he has given DJ because they will have finished shopping for January new players by now...

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Would pretty much agree with that assessment , but with the rider that better selection and tactics would probably have brought a better points return. Obviously cant know for sure but mistakes HAVE been made.
They wont have started Jan shopping yet.
Yes they will have allocated the budget.
Yes they will have a prioritised shopping list.
But they obviously cant start shopping till the shops open in January !
After stating the blinking obvious , all we're really interested in is how much is in the purse , and WHO is going to the shops ?

Agree4 Disagree0

Would it make a difference as to who we buy as jones has his own opinion`s something that it seems few other people share, we do already have quality players but they don't get a chance to play pecnick for one miles better than Bothcrap but bothcrap will always start How many minuets of play has madine had compared to bothroyd. So what we gonna do buy some more players to do what!

Agree2 Disagree0

I'm betting he'll try and get Bothcrap permanent if he doesn't get sack first.
If that happens I've done till they're both gone !

DJ wont get the sack beacuse of the 1.2Million it'll cost MM to pay the **** off

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Surely it will cost us a lot morethrough ticket sales tv revenue and merchandise sales if he keeps him in charge and we go down

Agree3 Disagree0

At last a man of reason

Agree1 Disagree0

DJ WILLget the elbow. It is a 'when' not an 'if'. Why would MM have tied a Championship level manager to a copntract with a clause in it that states he will be handed £1.2 million if his contract is terminated before its full duration? We've just bitten Millwall's arm off for their Beevers offer at c.£250k plus. You're telling me that MM has a spare £1.2 lying around in a pot labelled 'Manager Sacking Budget'? I don't think so, DJ will cost much less to boot out of hillsboropugh. MM is timing it to coincide with a replacement.

Time for MM to part with DJ and bring Solskjaer to our massive club.Won Norwegian league with Molde last two seasons, a manager who's on the upward curve rather than bringing in another clubs reject with old hat ideas.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Wi got no ambition

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love Ole to come here.

It just won't happen though.

statistics show that gary megson is the 3rd best manager in sheffield wednesdays history. they also show that dave jones is the second worse. check it out for youselves. this only goes to show that dave jones shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as gary megson. megson also took wba up to the top flight and got bolton in to europe. they also finished in the highest ever position that they ever have in the premier league under his leadership hence qualifying for europe. hes one of the most under rated managers in the game and this is because he's honest and speaks the truth which for whatever reason isn't accepted in today's style of management.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Well said !
I challenged the fans last year when he was sacked, and again a couple of weeks ago to look at Megsons record , it stands up to anybodys - especially Jones .
People always jump on band wagon about his style of play, like they jump on bandwagon that Jones is a good manager.
Reputations take over from fact !
When Megson was with West Brom , they were one of most attractive teams in division, and when they were struggling in Prem some of their fans were saying cut out the pretty football !
MMs worst decision of his life when he sacked him , he probably knows that now and ALL our fans will come to realise it in time .

Agree1 Disagree0

Spot on ! And to those who say we wouldn't have got promoted ... blah blah blah - we would, even if had been through play-offs !
AND we wouldn't be struggling like we are NOW .... still thats progress eh??
Jones must go and we will all be saying same after Barnsley match ..... about 8matches too late !

Oh no just seen teletext darren purse to be released by plymouth to save wages. Hope to god jones doesn,t look at teletext. Taylor and purse, just imagine

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bizarrely, I had exactly the same thought when I read about Plymouth putting Purse on the market.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure it WAS just a coincidence that Purse was doing commentary on Player at weekend.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not Purse AGAIN !

Agree0 Disagree0

It's time for MM to take his Purse out of his handbag. I know that much.

Message to MM-
50yrs an Owl , relegations, defeats at Wembley, you name it we've been through it all, but I have NEVER been as disappointed & embarrassed as I am by what is happening to our club this season !
I will tell you now there is absolutely no way that this team , under the guidance of Mr Jones, will escape relegation.
In saying that I place none of the blame on the players, it is solely down to mismanagement of the team from almost every single aspect ( recruitment, selection, tactics, motivation, reward/criticism ) elementary mistakes too numerous to list.
You the Chairman are also culpable, for either not recognising these failures, or not acting swiftly in the best interests of our club , which you are currently the custodian of.
Sir, I sincerely hope I am proved wrong at the end of the season.

Believable11 Unbelievable1

I would not panic yet we have been unlucky how our fixtures have fell playing a lot of the more established teams all together next 4 or 5 games are all with a good chance of taking points no one wants to see us lose the way we are but it's a learning curve and I don't think changing the manager will help at this point mm will spend in jan to improve the team need to keep the faith because we are still in a better position than this time last season

Agree3 Disagree7

Action needed now - we have to win at least 1in3 to even be in a scrap to stay up !
Fixtures don't change we have to play these teams again and DJ just making same mistakes over again. Performance changed at Cardiff because team changed - cos of injuries, not cos DJ saw the light ! If he gets chance to buy Bothroyd in Jan he will do, you still confident cos I'm not.

Agree5 Disagree0

To DJs parrot with his - learning curve- there are no easier fixtures coming up with DJ in charge just wait n see !

Agree5 Disagree0

I dont think Wednesday can stay up.
They loose too many games. In the present run we have lost 6 in a row.
We did get close to getting something against one of the best teams in the league on Sunday. However that does not mean we will get something against Bristol or Barnsley, they could be Wednesday by a bigger margin. 5 extra draws would psychologically have made a big difference to the teams confidence.
We could still be struggling but have a decent chance but because of the management we dont have.

Agree3 Disagree0

In 50yrs as an Owls fan I have seen a lot worse situations than what we are in now .We sacked Derek Dooley at Christmas did it do us any good no.We have twice developed the ground to the detriment of the team back in the 60s when we had the best ground bar non for the world cup but no money to buy a team to match and in the early 90s we had a half decent team but money was spent on the ground again. We got promoted via the play offs with an inferior team that PS did wonders with to keep us up but he got no support at board level and eventually the sack and we still got relegated,so we have been here plenty off times MM saved this club its his to do what he wants with ,he sacked GM and we got promoted do you think we would have gone on that run with MM at the helm the answer is no,the play off would have been the best we would have managed and no guarantee of promotion.DJ will no better than anyone that the players he signed have not done the business he has not become a bad manager overnight a lot of players he signed were signed for potential and I am sure next year they will show what they were signed for.Yes we are struggling but we wont get relegated and next season will be an improvement we have no divine right to be a top team it takes time and after 50 yrs i think i can wait a bit longer be patient remember how the club was 2yrs ago down and out.

Agree1 Disagree5

OP- If you read my post I didn't say we hadn't been in worse positions, I know that as well as anybody.
I posted out of frustration , because our current situation stems from BAD management!
You say Jones not become a bad manager overnight, I question whether he was ever a good manager? He has a reputation but thats not the same as ability. Hes never actually WON anything, and FAILED in playoffs a number of times.
If you look on www at when he was at Cardiff & Wolves , they were saying the same things about him then as our fans are saying now, AND he spent a lot of money at both clubs. A lot of that on poor signings according to fans of both clubs.
He has had the backing from MM to sign players! and to loan players in , he picks the team and decides tactics ! We can only judge him on this season .
I would just ask ONE question for you to answer honestly to yourself ....... Has anything that Dave Jones has done this season improved our position from one week to the next ... ie:- taken us forward ?

Agree5 Disagree0

To the chap who said its MMs club to do what he wants with - ITS NOT, THE CLUB BELONGS TO THE FANS.
MM only owns it at this point in time, he will sell it sooner rather than later, but the fans will always be here ..... provided the owner does the right things.

Agree3 Disagree0

Disappointingly, I suggest that we are dead and buried this season already. DJ shoul've gone weeks ago. Not wiorking Dave. GO.

Agree1 Disagree1

Sorry but the club belongs to MM get used to it.We would not have got promoted without his ownership only administration but like fans of most clubs the majority of owls fans are good at spending other peoples money. We are a struggling championship club and will remain so until we get behind the owner and the team and its manager. And the person who says the club belongs to the fans must think if he buys a bus ticket he owns part of the bus company. The fans are the club but do not own it football is business these days and nothing else I would sooner have MM as the owner than liquidation but no doubt some have other Ideas.
