Strange all this talk of Jones being a nearly man or a loser because his side lost in a cup final . It is a long time since we were runners up in anything . At least he got them there. The play-off Cardiff lost was for the Premiership - a standard rather higher than we have achieved since the dark days of Pleat. For God's sake stop knocking the bloke before he gets here. If you really do love Wednesday give him a chance to help us.

Hi Ed, you've been doing a lot of defending of Dave Jones over last two days, you're not a relative are you?? {Ed001's Note - nope. My cousin did play under both him and Gary Megson, among others, at Stockport though. He will tell you that Jones is by far and away the best coach he has ever worked with. Having met him myself a number of times, I also know that, despite being an Everton fan, he is a good guy. He has never received the backing his ability deserves, getting Wolves into the Prem on a shoestring, then being refused any funding to invest in the team despite losing their best player (Joleon Lescott) to a season ending injury. He did well at Southampton before that complete imbecile and scumbag Lowe fired him, despite assuring Jones his job was safe on numerous occasions.}

Sure all our readers will take that on board? {Ed001's Note - I just hope that he is given a chance, because he is an excellent coach and Wednesday in League 1 are very lucky to get him.}
