My honest assessment of squad for next season, first time poster, but just wanted to know what people think?

Firstly want to say our best piece of business this summer has been to keep Stuart Gray, after the issues we had between Burton leaving and him coming in, believe this is a great start for us to keep him. Now the rest of the squad

GK- Chris Kirkland, Aaron Jameson, Adam Davies and Cameron Dawson
Think this area is covered and can only see back up coming in on loan if Kirkland gets injured and Davies and Dawson going out on loan to gain experience to L1 or L2 clubs

RB - Lewis Buxton, Kieran Lee
Think this area covered

LB - Reda Johnson, Joe Mattock
Cannot see us bringing in Pugh due to his wages and Mattock will be given a chance to prove himself if Reda carries on with injury problems and possibly use Buxton LB with Lee RB if needed?

CB - Miguel Llera, Anthony Gardner, Martin Taylor, Ayo Obileye, Johnny Fenwick
Llera signed, Gardner is club captain, DJ has already stated he expects Taylor to be pushing for a more prominent role this season, think DJ will wait and run the rule over Obileye and Fenwick in preseason and can only see someone else coming in if DJ think Obileye and Fenwick not ready yet and they get loaned out

RM - Michail Antonio, JJ, Danny Mayor
Think this area is covered and JJ will sign extension and Mayor will be moved on when JJ signs

LM - Jacques Maghoma, we have already stated we are still in talks to try sign Jeremy Helan so if we do this area will be covered as well.

CM - David Prutton, Giles Coke, Jose Semedo, Chris Lines, Rhys McCabe, Paul Corry, Liam Palmer
Think we are overloaded in this area and will Prutton & Coke resigning can only see us bringing someone in further down the line, think DJ will again use preseason to see if McCabe, Corry, Palmer able to step up or if Semedo or Lines can do a job? Can only see us bringing someone in this area if we can offload Semedo & Lines and if DJ loans out McCabe, Corry & Palmer again to gain more experience. Think we had Olifinjana as back up ready to sign if Prutton or Coke went

ST - Gary Madine, Chris Maguire, Caolon Lavery plus probably 2 new signings.
I believe we are in talks to sign Leroy Lita and we have Kevin Davies as a back up plan if a deal cannot be agreed with Lita, as DJ has shown he prefers to have an experienced striker up front, so can only see us signing one of these two, apart from that can see us bringing in someone like Nakhi Wells who has been mentioned but am expecting us to sign someone no one was expecting, like we have done last summer and again with Maghoma this season, again can only see someone else coming in if DJ believes Lavery not quite ready yet.

Personally I don't expect many more in's unless we move players on and loan out some players but not expecting this to happen anytime soon as I believe DJ will look at his squad in preseason and give the younger lads a chance to step up

Agree with most of above. Apparently DJ has indicated he wants torecruit players with more pace as we lacked this in areas of side. Maghoma fits this category as do Lita & Halen so any other signings may follow same plan.

I thnk we will buy striker with pace, and expect us to loan another. I doubt if Wells or Davies will join.

Think we need another defender all current defenders except Reda lack pace so think we will sign someone who is quicker than we have.

Someone actually talking sense instead of making up stuff about being in the know and we defo signing this player and that

A very good breakdown of our squad, but ayo is too good a passer of the ball to play center half, he is a toure type player, we need goalscorers, madine not up to this level yet, he needs his upper body building up. compare steve howard and then madines, howard did not get pushed off ball.
