Did we get anything for Bywater? or he was out of contract already or on free transfer. If it is the latter then it is real shame for an excellent no. 2 keeper. We should't have let him go really!

Bywater was offered but did not want to sign a new contract. If you see comments from DJ he agrees with you. Bywater was an excellent second choice keeper and he left because he thought greater ooportunity of first team football at Millwall not because of money.
Having said that, if you chose not to issue contracts until late in season you can expect players to refuse them it is the chance you take. Do think we should have tied White up earlier and I am sure he would have stayed. Think he is real loss to club as apparently he is a player going places and would have been in first team this season.

I fully agree with you, leaving it too late to keep and tie up our new raw talent and existing out of contract players will backfire on us. The case with White and Bywater is an example of bad business in my view by MM & DJ unless there was another reason! Real shame though :- (

i know this isn't a rumour but we got 100k for white and 300 plus add ons for ogrady, and were only getting free signings, wheres that money going to or is another dave alan job in his pocket? just curious anyone can reply if they can clear this please? uto xxx

Still lots of time to spend that money, the transfer window hasn't even opened yet and your complaining about us not spending money. To be honest as a Yorkshire man myself with short arms and deep pockets if you can get good players for free why spend money! And anyway any free signing has a signing on fee which is where some of the money will be going.

Have to agree with second post. Some of the fans on here do not realise the cost of running a club. This was evident with suggestions to rescue the club when we were on verge of going into administration. Loved the one which suggested fans giving a £1,000 in exchange for 3 years season tickets. I wondered what we were going to do for funds in following two seasons.
