Hi All

Arsenal fan in peace, just looking for some info on the Owls.

Step Father is a big Owl man has been for 70 years, as they have internet access I thought I would ask what is exactly happening with regards any takeover.

A shortened answer would be good.

Have a good season guys

It's all gone through and we are now in the process of building a championship winning squad

I wouldn't buy a club when I already won promotion with another, I'd fire money into that team to get champions league,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's all about potential really.

Glad your not taking us over then. Mammadov has more than enough funds to push money at all the clubs he owns, and anyway he is limited by how much the new fair play rules (or whatever they are called) allow him to spend so he has more than enough to throw at Lens too. Also why go through the hassle of having all your accounts looked, sign masses of paperwork and then at the last minute decide that you don't want to buy the club. Stop talking drivel

The statement clearly states that Due Diligence has been completed. Due Diligence is a 2 way process consisting of a complex list of issues that must be ticked in the box from available funds to outstanding law suits to accounts and business plans. All which must satisfy both parties and the Football League. Since this is now complete, ratification should be a formality and could well be accomplished before the start of the season.
Keep the faith naysayers.

Dont know what the panic is about. When I broke my leg it took nearly 3 bloody months to get my esa benefits "ratified".!! Dunno who these pen pushers are, but my guess is they are probably the same guys that were dealing with my claim ha ha.

We'll here that soon again, we tried to buy a couple of strikers but ran out of time and other sides took them so we will be looking into the emergency loan window, same old same old.

With all you people worrying about the takeover and how long it's taking just remember it takes time and the only reason why it was announced in june is becouse the french press found out about it and printed. have faith in mm and hm.

Even if and when the takeover deal is announced and ratified by the FL, there are absolutey no guarantees HM will input any cash into the pot for transfers. Definitely squeak bum time.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The above statement is totally wrong, we are already being sponsored by land Of Fire.

I don't trust MM as far as I can throw him. Portsmouth fans i'm sure loved him at one time. MM wants to wash his hands of us, He's finally sick and tired of all the money being lost, That he's willing to flog us anyone who has the money. MM will walk away with 40 million without taking a backward glance. And as for mammadov, we should be very worried.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Maybe they are all aliens. Who will first infiltrate our club then drain our minds! and before we know it it will be attack of the body snatchers. Or we could be over run by vampires who will kill us all. Ahhh trust no one stay locked in your houses people!

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheltowl - You've really got me worried now, I couldn't see anything to worry about till you joined in!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm fairly certain MM isn't walking away and will be chairman at least for the first year. The Portsmouth situation really stung MM, he hated that a club he had built up was taken to pieces and destroyed so dramatically and that is why he has been so careful with his dealings not just with us but Leicester too. Also why look at the negatives of his previous clubs and look at Leicester, he sold them on to another owner and they are now back in the premiership. I do agree with hOWLer though you have me worried cheltowl. Maybe the aliens have already got to people like you me and hOWLer and making us too optomistic and positive about the takeover to draw the others in :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Hahaha, nice one,

And Leicester fans must be gutted how MM has ruined their club too!

Following latest statement it is now clear that :-
1. Delay is not due to the FL
2. " business interests elsewhere have hindered his ability to conclude the takeover "
3. Due diligence has been completed - so no worries now of a " skeleton " in our cupboard! The Liverpool disaster has been at the back of my mind for some time - possible financial liability here would have a bearing on the DD findings.
4. The club is still not in a position to complete the regulatory requirements set by the FL.
Suggests this relates perhaps to the share transfer, which appears not to have yet taken place.
5. MM still confident the takeover will take place.

My conclusions :
1. Either, we are not a priority ( as we would like ) for HM
or
Problems elsewhere are of such magnitude that he could
not proceed ( at present ).

As for me, well, still ever hopeful & I still trust in MM. However, very disappointed that we are starting the season understrength - all part of being an owl, I suppose!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

A very rational assessment of what we know Sleaford - IMO.
NIce to see someone on here examining the facts instead of sharing their fantasies and nightmares with us.
Personally I do believe HM has had some big problems back home to deal with because he is a major businessman in key areas of the economy in Azerbaijan, and they have had some serious issues in the past few weeks.
Those problems would have been far removed from those invented by the gutter press in France which started all the concerns, but nevertheless they have taken his focus away from all his football interests in the short term. Which to anybody other than we football fans makes perfect sense?
Reasonable to assume that we, and his other football interests, are not his main priority. After all he has to make all the money elsewhere to be able to throw it away on his football interests!
But the RCLens situation has all but been resolved now, and I'm confident that we will follow shortly.
The futures bright - its blue & white (not orange, unless we adopt it for one of our future away strips!)

Agree0 Disagree0

Think above points are reasonable, but you have underestimated onerous requirements for approval by FL. Go to site and take a look.

When you are front man for a governement in the likes of Azerjaiban very difficult to provide info football league require.

Mammadov met FL representatives on Friday and it was agreed what he was required to provide. They had hoped would allow through on Friday but FL stuck to their guns.

Mammadov has money, no worries about that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Phew at last some common sense

Agree0 Disagree0

What gets me why put money into buying us when he can fire it into team he owns, strange 1,

Agree0 Disagree0

I see what you did their, fire, land of fire, very good,

Maybe there's more money to be made in taking a poor (and that's in every sense) championship club to the promised land of the premiership. Than there is in France or Azerbaijan?

Can't help but feel it's a little strange the megastore has no home shirts, away shirts and big gaps in the training gear e. g. no shorts. The walls still have puma gear on them.
I really want it all to work out, but really nervous about it all.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What now the takerover has been delayed, all I can see is short term loans to get a team together for the start of the season

Agree0 Disagree0

The takerover delayed?. are you stealing dogs?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey he is from Azerbaijan not China.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's a bit woof

statement on swfc website stating takeover still going ahead. big mammy has had some business interests to attend to at home so he's not been able to complete as quickly as he'd liked. due diligence has been completed and now waiting for FL approval. UTO
