More chance of going down than going up. A typical season is now unfolding. The freak results at the start of the season got us all carried away including myself admittedly. Fingers crossed we'll still be in this league by the end of the season just like SG will be sat at home with his fingers crossed that the new owners don't give him the boot.

On the way back from the game and I've got to say good effort lads,,, but as a Stuart gray fan it's time for a change he is clueless when it comes to tactics and his team selections well we're do I start. Please Mr charman get rid Know.

Stuart Gray fan you claim TYM ?
Not sure how we would know if you are or not because I can't find many positive posts from you about anything ?
Credit when its due and criticism when its fair perhaps?
Who do you think determined the tactics for today, and picked the team to do the job ?
SG went to watch Derby at Rotherham in midweek and came up with a game plan that had Maclaren and Derby scratching their heads for over an hour?
Apart from the players - not SG - making simple defensive marking errors from two corners (dare I point the finger at Lees for a change - he is human after all !) allowing Buxton to score two identical goals, it was a terrific performance and we deserved to win at Derby the title faves - IMO.
Well done SG and the lads!
Westwood sending off was very harsh also, he barely caught him, the Derby lad was going away from goal, and we had a defender on the line so hardly a goal scoring opportunity?
Yellow and penalty would have been fair enough.

Well said again hOWLer, the amount of negativity that is coming from certain people on here is amazing. I have only seen the highlights but it looks like we easily held our own against the now top team in the league and apart from a couple of little errors we would have won. I've put on another post that I think the team are much better than the same time last season so I think that we will easily avoid relegation. Stick with the positive outlook like most normal fans and try to ignore the negative folk :-)

Thanks for your support SWFC13, I'll try my best!
But it does rankle when some of our "supporters" choose to ignore the obvious progress we have made in the past 12months under SG, ignore the fact that this has been achieved without big funding (- almost none in comparison to rest of division!), ignore any positives from our performances and always choose to exaggerate any of the poorer aspects.
As you say it is only "certain people", often the "usual suspects", and thankfully they are in the minority.
IMO The greater majority of our fans are very knowledgable about the game, they understand what they are watching, and are realistic about what can be achieved in the short and longer term.
Keep the faith - we will succeed!

Yup, DJ very nearly wrecked the team and yet somehow SG got a bad team playing well and got us out of trouble last season. I will agree with some that some of his transfer choices haven't been the best but that was down to what he could get for the money, as you say his budget was virtually nil. I do think he will unfortunately be shown the door in the summer or at least moved to the side to be more of a coach but we will be safe in this league.

Do any of you 2 above above go to any games

I don't get to many at the moment due to a combination of working a lot of weekends at present, trouble getting transport to games and a bit due to a lack of spare cash to spend on footy games, why do you ask? Are you going to be like some other people last season who said I'm not a proper fan because I don't go to games and that I can't comment on the team.

{Ed003's Note - I hope it wasn't intended to mean that.}

No just can tell you don't go as I never said anything about the team I said the teams trying but sg tactics and team selection are at times shocking. I like most fans work hard have a family to support bills to pay but I go home and away so I am entitled to say how I feel just like you who doesn't go. I want our team to be in the prem not stuck in the championship and sg isn't the man to do that, he's a brill coach but not a manager. my opinion you don't have to like it.

Sorry to go defensive on my post but I got sick of all the carp I recieved last year for commenting on the team when I couldn't get to games and I though it was happening again. If you look at one of my posts above you will see that I agree, SG's time is limited at the club at least as the manager. He is a great coach and he did a great job repairing the team after DJ but I think the new chairman will replace him at the end of the season. I actually think tactically he is pretty good most days but he seems to lack a plan B if it goes wrong. No point sacking him now though as some people are asking for, as I think that would do more harm than good and the type of manager we want to try and get won't be available now.

I understand that but if we did replace him know I think a new man will give the team a lift. remember when dave Jones took over we went on and won promotion. you never know,, but I feel sg as taken us as far as he can I mean on the form we are in we are more likely to be in a relegation fight than anything! only a month ago people was talking about the playoffs
