why are owls fans so negative we have a good team now built in a short time stop moaning and back the lads and wear your shirt with pride milan and dave jones have done a great job

A draw only in first match - Milan probably already looking for the exit. Win your next couple or prepere for being the next Portsmouth!

Another jealous blunt, maybe one year one will actually type something that is true.

Shut up blunt, your already the next pourtsmouth

I think the reason owls fans are a bit negative is due to a lot of false hopes we have had over recent years,i know things are looking great under the new chairman and manager, but it will only be when we get a run of decent results will the bad vibes go,and we will be able to fully get behind the club like we used too
Agree3
Disagree4
I'm guessing you mean a decent run of results like the ones that got us in to the play-off positions under Megson, and then an unbeaten run that got promotion under DJ? How much better can it be?
Loyal fans are behind the club regardless of the results, its only the fickle ones that are negative .
Agree7

I do understand what the guy means, but hey, this is a good run of results and its time to throw pesimism away.
not only that, true fans dont only get behind the team when they are winning.

Could not agree more in a short space of time DJ AND MM have put together an impressive squad with a young average age coupled with 2 good experienced players.Kirkland is a very astute signing and his class is already showing Gardener is another if we can keep him fit and get the right player next to him along with the best fans that now need to keep there heads get behind the team and give them time to gel in over50 years of watching the owls I have never been as optimistic about a season keep up the good work DJ,MM and all the staff

Rodri could be from the Barca Z team and it still wouldn't matter, considering the clubs pedigree through out, he would still be good enough for the championship. UTO

On the same day that we sign Rodri from Barcelona, Gillingham confirm the signing of Myles Weston - a former transfer target of SWFC (rumoured anyway). Just shows the progression we have made.

Just a note to all the negative posters over on the Rumours site ...... the Rodri signing is something we proper Owls fans couldn't even dream about 18month ago.
This kid obviously has real pedigree, DJ was keen to bring him, and coupled with all the other mainly young signings we've made recently, for the first time in years there is cause for some real optimism in S6 !!
Yes some of these signings might not work out, but paying millions out doesn't guarantee instant success either ( Torres, Carroll recent examples?) .
So if you can't be positive at a time like this , you haven't been an Owls fan for long, or at all ?
Thanks to MM, DJ & co, and Megson also, for giving the Real Owls fans their pride back and a reason to be optimistic for the future !

Spot on! Exciting times are ahead! UTO

As I live abroad I only get to see the highlights after the match and some of the football we played against Derby was top class.
The fact that we are signing players with good pedigree is exciting and I look forward to the season ahead.
Having said that, tomorrow's game against Birmingham will be a good early indicator of how far we have progressed.

Spot on mate, and I don't think they have finished yet, Big rumour at work this morning that a prem striker surplus to requirements will be signed this week ( Everton or Stoke ???? )
Agree4

Well done op the trouble with a lot of negative posters on here they are more interested in things that have no bearing on the way the team plays or the club is run ie can we sing a song about the new signing are they on twitter dont like the new shirts all have which mean jack rubbish if we have a poor team.I suspect that if we have a disapointing start to the season a lot of these so called fans will crawl back into woodwork where a lot have come from.We have a lot of genuine fans who would have given there right arm to be in this position 18 months ago the genuine ones tend to have a better idea about football and how the club needs to be run not the boom and bust culture some would like. Some clubs never learn and seem to be forever in financial trouble.Buying players is easy paying the wages they demand and keeping them fit is the hard bit.We without doubt are in a better position to build something special but dont expect it to happen overnight it will take time but it will come just dont piss off MM & DJ off with stupid negative comments after all MM nearly walked over the GM fallout to which his decision was proved correct. So get behind the management they are going to make this club better than ever.Got to go and tweet about the song i have wrote about the new kit and web site?

Anyone know if/when the Ross Barkley deal is likely to happen?
I hope we get him and I hope the Danny Baath rumours are true. He was really solid last season!
We are looking like a team that is ready to compete!

Batth is not wanted by Owls or Wolves. Has limitations.

At last someone else apart from me and DJ realises that Batth is not the answer.

Exciting times, especially as an attacking force. All we need now is a solid centre back to sort out the defence and we will be unstoppable.
Believable5

Agreed. Some potentially exciting signings so far. Still need that right-sided centre back. Gardner not exactly looking up to much so far. Interesting to see that both Baath and Treacy did not make their respective team's match day squads last Saturday. Could be injured I suppose!
Agree2
Disagree0
Neither Treacy or Batth quite good enough at Championship level. If we wanted them could have bought them.
Agree3
Disagree0
I think you need to check the Treacy's stats before saying he isn't good enough for the championship.
