Can anybody tell me how keep changing the manager , like we've done regularly for last 20yrs, makes the players better ?
Will a new manager make the current squad better players? I'll answer that one - NO !!
Megson has had this squad over-achieving for most of the season so another manager won't change anything, ONLY better players can do that.
Practically every player we've signed has come from a lower level, so have any of the signings really improved the overall skill level that much?
Megson has done wonders with the players he's been given. The type of football you can play is limited by the players ability. The football was OK when Marshall was here - - which just shows what a difference just ONE decent player can make !
If only we coiuld get a COUPLE of decent players ?
Megson could get us to the Prem IF he was given better players to work with. He's done it more than once before, & West Brom did it playing "proper football".
So don't blame Megson for doing his best without any proper investment, cos without it all another manager will do is take the heat off MM, it won't improve our chances of progressing.

Because Megson is Wednesday through and through we all -or at least almost all of us - wish him to succeed. To that end I have, as you know, consistently defended him against unjustified criticisms. However, we have at some point to face reality. Whilst I agree with your assessment of the squad , something has changed in recent weeks. We were at least effective: now the same players have become ineffective. It would be irresponsible not to question the loss of confidence and its cause. I appreciate that we have an awful history of hastily changing managers but that, I fear is symptomatic of what has been wrong with the club for so very many. We have a culture of blame and there has long been a significant percentage of the crowd who have hounded players and managers. Take the dreadful treatment of James O'Connor for example. Sadly we have also to take note of the manager's singling out individuals for personal blame when the failure has been corporate. The culture deepens . Unless we all - players, supporters, board members and manager stop it, we will have little hope of regaining our former glory.

I think there's a lot of agreement between US TWO at least ? Thanks for that.
I agree with your observations of recent events, but I would offer Megsons frustration as a reason, not a defence, for his "singling out" of players although he hasn't named them as far as I am aware.
The frustration must stem from statements from the Chairman such as the recent Rangers denial when MM said " our target is the same as it has been all season , the Championship" ??
How can he say such things when there is no evidence whatsoever of support for that.
None of Megson's original 16names at the start of the season were signed!
Instead a succession of loan signings, which MM himself said at the start of the season, "would not be the way forward "?
He also said " we would sign players fit for the Championship because that was where we wanted to be", how many players of that calibre do we have in our squad?
If we had brought in players who were capable of stamping their authority on a game at this level, and Megson had failed to get results, then I would support the case for a change of Manager.
My main contention is that Megson has not failed, he has got 120% out of our squad and taken them to the top of the table . A lot of fans are suggesting HIS reward for that achievement should be the sack ?
Our criticism AS FANS should be towards the Chairman who keeps making positive statements which he knows the gullible majority are going to swallow, but if analysed are hollow !
From the official figures, the balance of expenditure ON THE TEAM is less than £1million !! When that is compared to any of the clubs around us Megson's achievement is phenomenal - that's why I think any talk of the sack (for a manager who himself is a true Owl ! ) is shameful and I for one will have no part in that.

Rumour has it Megson hasn't spoken to Madine in weeks. Lose the derby on Sunday and Megson will be looking for another job.
