Uderstand we will be aiming to recruit 5 players in window, 2 defeders, 2 forwards, central midfiled player. We will try and move out 5 players. Likely to have 4 loan players.
We have spoken to clubs about Miguel Ignacia, Nik Powell, Nile Ranger and Connor Wickham. We had also enquired about Ross Barkley.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Poppycock

Agree1 Disagree1

Who needs strikers anyway? lol whooped hull ass (expect a spanking they said) lol nearly as good as "mind the gap"

Agree0 Disagree0

There's a rota of people at S6 including the tea lady and the cat who are charged with releasing these 'heard from some one close to the Club, can't say who' rumours which so far have all turned out to be tosh. Could this be another?

Agree1 Disagree0

Barclay has already signed for Leeds on loan you clown.

Agree2 Disagree0

To th e clow post above you will note it said we had equired about him. In other words lost out to Leeds.

Agree1 Disagree0

Think reo-coker would be a good signing and he would'nt cost anything as he is without a club

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Think he we could bring reo-coker and earnshaw for free and then a few loans wed be ok

Did we play with no striker out of choice or, do we have no faith in any of them. Didn't see the game just looked at team sheet. Good performances?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Whatever the reason it worked theo walcott cough i mean michael antonio hmm well it worked a blinder.

Agree0 Disagree0

DJ said we went there with a game plan ( that's a first)well DJ if we did - it worked, can we expect another "game plan" against wolves or is that too soon ?? As fo new signings well DJ can only spend what MM gives him and we all know what that will be. I don't really think we need too much just 2 or 3 players with a bit of quality and certainly one who can score goals, I realise we can't afford the best but a proven goalscorrer at this level would be ok. That would be ok to keep us in championship but MM don't even think about premiership with what we have, to get there you will need to take the timelock off your wallet and dare I say it without giving you palputations SPEND UTO eric the owl

Love going to fishing villages in north ferriby and deciding that all around are utter scrubbers. Serious rumour however, home fans were seen leaving eating 8 pence a pack space raiders whilst still wearing their gloves! True dat! UTFO

Believable1 Unbelievable0

And? Wots your point? Doh!

Agree2 Disagree0

We saw them eating the space raiders as well

It's part of their 5 a day over there, they all have cod liver oil for breakfast

The point is.............

You need to move to North Ferriby

Excellet performace against Hull. All team played well, only slight criticism fiishing could have been better. With a proven goalscorer at this level we would be comfortably mid table by ed of season. Defensive problems have been resolved.
I am a great believer in it being a team game and not dependant on an individual but if you look at the results when Reda has played against when he has not makes quite a statement.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Good point about Reda and our results -- don't forget though Giles Coke ( pure footballer ) when he last played we beat Fulham and he was man of match -- he must be given games !

Agree5 Disagree0

Fair point about Coke, he has played well i last 2 outings for us.

Agree3 Disagree0

Gutted for Coke when his goal was disallowed, should have counted!

Feel sorru for anti DJ brigade as they must have been rehearsing what they were going to say on here tonight. A very good performance and fine win against a highflying team and out of relegation zone.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

The anti dj brigade will be back when we lose next. fickle

Still fragile could easily lose next 3 games.
Dont forget we play with no strikers cos jones signed bad ones.We really need one. That formation won't work every game.Especially at home.
But we'll give him more time.He deserves that.

Agree3 Disagree0

Credit where credit is due, last night a brilliant performance and result. I get a bit fed up with the posters who get one good result and forget everything that's gone before. I really do hope that the improvement continues; I don't want to see my team do anything other than do well. But one result doesn't cover up the lack of tactical nouse, basic management skills, man management skills, non-cummunication with fans which DJ has displayed up until the arrival of Stuart Gray. Now how much is down to him we don't know but one good result doesn't hide the fact that for half the season we were very poor. I've said it before, DJ has had the same tools to work with (players) all season in the main, why the sudden change around. That in itself says poor management and poor judgement. I'll say it again brilliant yesterday but if some of what's said on here is true the Spanish rock in the middle of the defence isn't being offered a new contract. Other Championship teams must be lining up and possibly Villa too who need an experienced centre back for a couple of seasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

How you lot can still think Dave Jones is a good manager is beyond comprehension

Stuart Gray coaches the players and decides tactics, look at the difference he has made since he has come in

Lee, Coke now getting a chance, they have been here all season but DJ never gave them a decent run

He is NOT the man to take this club forward

One result and you lot are on about Play Offs and Champions League, we are not out of this yet

Agree0 Disagree2

'You lot'? WAAWAW? Despite opinions.

What a performance away system sorted just shows what we need genuine pace upfront x 2 . A right side centre half and a midfield playmaker. Come on milan get rid of the deadwood and get your cheque book out. Just need to sort an attacking system for home games and sorted .midtable finish beckons

The buzz which heralded promotion, and continued into the first forays of this Championship season, has long since disappeared. No news comes out of the place, except on the backs of other teams. There's little or no communication to fans emanating from manager or chairman. As a lifelong (73 years old) fan of Sheffield Wednesday, this situation concerns me greatly. There used to be a real buzz about the place. Who is to blame for this state of affairs? It's too easy to simply blame the manager, isn't it?

Believable6 Unbelievable0

The buck stops with the manager for what happens on the pitch.
But reluctantly, because I have never been a Jones fan, I have to say that if he has no support is he really to blame?
Certainly for that and the lack of communication with the fans, and the feeling of doom that surrounds the club after the euphoria of just a few months ago, MM has sole responsibility.
Even more worrying in some ways, MM is doing nothing to indicate to the fans that he even cares!

Agree5 Disagree3

Maybe you'll all shut up about jones for a while. Keeps making plenty of people look very silly and clueless. Have it! A very happy and supportive fan. Supportive - maybe a few could look it up? you don't care how old you are.

I have the feeling that if we signed Lionel Messi dave jones would keep him on the bench and reminisce on how good Jay bothroyd is and how we could do a player swap.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Spot on-he likes dull journeymen - "experienced" or, inreality, old ones at that

Agree1 Disagree1

Get over it

A very clear message from Jones in his press conference when he said that " speculate to accumulate seems to have gone out the window " so MM is committed to doing and spending nothing more to try to keep us up.
With DJs record in the transfer market I have to say I can't blame him.
But if ever there was a case for - back him or sack him - surely this is it . If he does nothing he's just throwing all we managed to achieve last season away, and we back where we started in lge1 - baffling?

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Personally I don't think MM would
spend anything this month even if he
changed the manager!
DJ as made errors and I have been on here saying so. However he can still change the manager after the window closes and could stiil do that.
He if does change the manager and we just survive what next season?
If DJ keeps up what next season?
Up till now I have defended the chairman. You would have thought
he would have made an attempt to keep us up? and then make a bit of progress next season. I know he saved us but in football you need to have an action plan to progress.
This man is a chump but sorry this is the way I feel. I know it is hard to progress but you get no plans or talk of progression.

Sheff wed Ort to sign jay tabb from reading after been made available for transfer would had some much needed experience to our midfield!

Believable6 Unbelievable0

12 Jan 2013 06:49:28
Both Dedryck Boyata and John Guidetti are both available for loan deals from man city, both add quality especially boyata would make a good pair with gardner with reda and buxton would defo tighten us up at the back and Guidetti would score more goals then current fowards i don't mind loans as long as it keeps us up this season then look at long term deals in the summer!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

They are on too much money, we'll never sign players of real quality even at our level never mind Prem level under the current regime.

I'd like to congratulate DJ once again on missing on another good player. Does Dave jones live in a fantasy world where he only exists cus from what I hear an see is that he has done Wednesday a favour or he assume that we are luck to have him for god sake DJ give us a brake an do one, as you have never won any major trophies to think your something special take a leaf out of ferguson or wengers book I mean what top jobs he ever landed this is his biggest ever job an he's been a massive failure be hounrable an resign after the defeat against Hull cus your just thee for the money it's simple but very true fact an MMwake up an get a proper football manger who is gonna attend training work with his players an motivate them, the sooner you take action the better for the Owls!!! Sean odriscoll is available he wants it go an get him proven manager in this division!!

Believable2 Unbelievable2

12 Jan 2013 12:36:17
Don't blame DJ everywhere he has managed he has had good
Strikers but here WHY I will tell you MM will not spend money
That is why we get CRAP strikers who are well past it or lower
Division strikers so we will ALWAYS struggle while MM is
Chairman

12 Jan 2013 00:36:11
we need to get dj out and Paul hart in ASAP we need some sense bringing to the management team and no more of these rash knee jerk signings

Can only see us getin 2- 4 points from next 4 league games ifwere lucky, lose to hull 2moz, draw with wolves, draw or win at charlton and lose to brighton, looking a bit grim isnt it

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Yes you are.... ffs

Agree3 Disagree1

Two would be all we can hope for and yes its looking very grim. We could be bottom soon. Don't expect any quality in during the window and maybe no-one at all. There just doesn't seem to be any method to the madness, none at all. Silence from MM, silence from DJ, silence, silence, silence which actually shouts quite loud to me. No apparent co-ordination, plan, leadership, man management and no information: can someone tell me why this points to a well run club going places, (upwardly that is), cherished by its owner and with a captain at the helm who we can all have faith in as it does to some people when to me its shouts the opposite. Am I a realist or a moaning winger who will be proved wrong by May.

Agree1 Disagree0

Id call it being realistic not moaning too many wednesday fans got there heads in clouds

Agree1 Disagree0

Hull 1 wed 3 so there are 3 of your 4 points your predictions are working give us more lol I'll try some - win against wolves draw at charlton (could win this one) and draw against brighton
