Speculation that Barnsley could be the subject of a club takeover is believed to have unsettled current management duo Keith Hill and David Flitcroft, writes Neil Goulding. Manager Hill and assistant boss Flitcroft both declined to comment on Wednesday on growing suggestions that they would be unhappy to work with potential new owners who may have an agenda different to theirs. Yet The Star understands that if new owners did buy the club, Hill and Flitcroft may seek pastures new.
Sheffield Wednesday star Gary Madine has been praised for giving up the chance of a hat-trick to allow an Owls youngster to take a penalty.
Sheffield United captain Michael Doyle is predicting a big future for teammate Nick Blackman following the striker's impressive goal-scoring exploits in League One this season.

McCabe's Owls move settled.

Rangers have finally agreed a settlement over Rhys McCabe's switch to Sheffield Wednesday.
The 20-year-old joined the Owls over the summer and has already made nine appearances for Dave Jones' side.

Rangers chief executive Charles Green said: "Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday have agreed terms over Rhys McCabe.

"Sheffield Wednesday have acted in good faith and recognised our rights as a club during the process.

"We wish them every success this season and beyond and while we were disappointed Rhys decided his future lies away from Rangers we wish him well for the future."
